The saddest (insert your favorite player) loss and why...

1991 Wimbledon final: Graf bt Sabatini. So close to winning a second slam and finally reaching the number one. I've never recovered from that one and I'm still unable to watch the match. :(

    Top5 players with best English

Not exactly. Slaves are more gifted because of their mother tongue, this is the main factor. Look for Alfred Tomatis' works and you will understand. Their mother tongue makes it pretty easy for them to learn foreign languages, it's not as easy for people who speak a germanic language, and it's...

Uncle Toni speaks out against new female DC captain.

I quite agree with Toni's comments despite being a woman. I understand how it can be seen as "sexist comment", but I also think it could be a strange situation. On the other hand, maybe the fact that this woman doesn't know the players could help. Former players like Moya or Corretja know the...

You shouldn't dream about that. It's not an objective for me because it's not realistic at all. I've never thought it was. And certainly not now because Rafa's physical decline is scary. He has a lot of mileage, much more than what you would expect from a 28-year old player. And it shows.

    Djokovic's draw.

Yes, I think that we'll all agree on that. He came through beautifully and won the tournament . Congrats Nole.

    Today's tennis is just sickening....

I have to agree with your last sentence. I watched some parts of the match, and I was really impressed by Venus Williams. I'm not a fan of hers at all, but I thought "too bad, she may have just lost to the future winner of this Wimbledon". She was better than Kvitova in that match IMO. I've not...

I think that we should leave Steve Darcis out of this. I think that they were 127 players in the draw who would have had a good chance to beat Rafa that day because the 128th (Rafa himself) was not ready to play at all. I think that his knees were hurting (remember that he played all the year...

First thing, nobody chooses the draw. It's pure luck. After that, nobody likes playing against these servebots, Federer included. And he has also lost a few matches against them. It's a lottery, and everyone knows that. But for Rafa, it's a nightmare. It has always been and it will always be...

    Today's tennis is just sickening....

Yes, I like it much more than the complete ballbashing of today's final, even if Kvitova was clearly impressive. But where is the attacking game that you are supposed to cherish in that video? Navratilova would have been a much better example than Evert and Austin.

Nadal's level on grass has declined, i think that most people will agree with that. His movement has declined significantly and, in the absence of a big serve, it's fatal. But it's not because of the match against Kyrgios that you can say that. You can't draw many conclusions about Nadal's level...

Maybe because their game is different :). I know that all the players have to deal with them, but you have to admit that Nadal has collected them recently. Look, he would still have faced Raonic in the quarter finals if he had won. Nightmare!!! For him of course (we all know how much he hates...

    Nadal News 2.0

The problem is that Rafa seems to attract them in his draws like a magnet. Bored out of my mind, a strange thought occured to me while watching that ugly first set: I became a Nadal fan because I don't like first strike tennis (I spent many years without watching any Wimbledon match for...

The first "beach pictures" in a few hours, I guess. :) I'm glad this Wimbledon is over. I clearly realized when I saw his draw that it would be a nightmare to follow, but at least there was Gasquet in the fourth round. Well... Those matches against Rosol and Kyrgios were absolutely unwatchable...

Yes, he was very clear about this during his press conference. Love it. :)

Hewitt :"I'm one injury away from retirement".

Yes, but all those five setters for nothing get on my nerves. When he won the fourth set against Janowicz, I immediately thought "He will lose in 5 sets once again". Indeed, I left for a few minutes and when I came back, he had already been broken. Too much energy wasted for losses, and it...

Federer has a crack at those playing too slowly.

If Federer cares about the spectators not seeing enough tennis because of the rythm, he should stop playing the way he does: he keeps the points so short that I get bored after a few minutes. Same for Mr Rosol. Give us some beautiful rallies, like Rafa and Nole. After that, you can open your...

Thanks a lot for those highlights (and all the other ones, of course). :) It looks like it was a great match. I think I'm going to look the whole stuff. I hope that Gilles has not found his best tennis just for this match. He's a joy to watch when he's playing well for me.

Nishikori and Berdych retiring highlights Nadal's sportmanship and courage at the AO

Different situations. Most players would have retired during the match at the Australian Open. Most players would have retired in earlier rounds just for the blister actually.

As a natural right-hander, why isn't Nadal's backhand the best on the tour?

Nadal is not ambidextrous, he's mixed. My own father is exactly like this. He's right handed, but left handed in tennis and football. It's not uncommon.

    ATP or WTA?

I used to know a man like that. But he was not a tennis fan at all. He had never played and he was not interested in tennis at all. He only watched women tennis. I remember that he liked all the players but Mauresmo and Henin. :)

    ATP or WTA?

I agree with this. And people who want to discuss WTA can find a much better place than this one. I like both men and women tennis. Currently, I prefer ATP, but it was not always the same, and I presume it won't stay the same for ever.

Nadal French Open (always my favourite one, much before Nadal came along) Miami (he should have won it at least once and I've always liked the Key Biscayne/Miami tournament too) ? Barcelona since it's precious for him, but Halle would be another grass title, and something post USO would be...
