    Another good one from Jeff

I know Tae but have never taken a lesson with him (really havent taken lessons period). Maybe I take a couple to see what Lock & Roll is all about. I see him instructing kids but not as many hacker adults.

    Wilson Eco-Friendly Rackets

What Wilson should do RE: the whole tree planting thing is NOT pass that cost on to the consumer. That should be a CSR expense if they see it as being important/worthwhile and want to be a good corporate partner and citizen. There should also be some sort of recycling program for old rackets...

NTRP Nationals - Surprise AZ - Who will be here?

Surprise, AZ is an OK spot for USTA nationals (I've been there for 2 different Nationals events now). Plenty of courts, clean facility, good lights. The courts play slow and promote a significant bounce, so those that hit groundies and serves with a lot of spin, expect the effect to be...

    Wilson Eco-Friendly Rackets

I think I like the "naked" look but who knows until you see them in person. RE: v8 blades -- NO! I dont want them to release anything new because then I will inevitably demo, like, and end up buying more rackets LOL

    Wilson Eco-Friendly Rackets

I do wonder where they add the weight to account for the reduction from no paint/clear and how that might affect the balance of these rackets relative to a painted one.

    Wilson Eco-Friendly Rackets

Last winter they had the Triniti club packs on sale (60 balls in a big cardboard box, I think) for <$75 IIRC. I was going to buy to use as hitters/hopper balls but decided against as I already had a couple cases of Pro Penns around. The Triniti balls play ROCK hard but do seem to last. They...

    Wilson Eco-Friendly Rackets

So, I receive an email from Wilson this morning featuring their limited edition "naked" line. No paint, dyes, or packaging so COGS should be lower than their existing rackets. They also used algae-based plastics to improve biodegradability. But, I figured due to "exclusivity", they would simply...

NTRP Nationals - Surprise AZ - Who will be here?

Oops - catching up to this thread now. I was there competing in the 4.0MD group. It was a lot of fun but not a huge fan of the fast four format. Maybe in the future they can do the final rounds (SF and F) as normal full matches?

What sections are taking bonus bids for 2021 USTA Nationals?

Our SoCal section is taking a maximum of 6 bids per event (six singles players and six doubles teams in each division). Endorsements will be made based on 2020 Year-End Rankings, 2019 Year-End Rankings, or NTRP information. What is happening within your section? -- from the USTA website --...

    Good tennis ball collector?

Thanks all -- I was able to pickup a lightly used Gamma Rollerhopper (Jedi Master posted it above) for a decent price. It will serve as a great gift.

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

I don't think there are any discounts currently (since prelaunch was done at end of Dec) but maybe email the company to check? Also, if you are really active on social media maybe there is an opportunity to serve as a brand influencer/ambassador? https://geausport.com/pages/contact And just FYI...

    Good tennis ball collector?

Thanks -- I'll would definitely buy used but it appears like you can't find these new anymore from any retailer. Gamma doesn't list them on their site anymore either.

    Good tennis ball collector?

He doesn't coach/train kids as far as I know. Just hack adults like me. Current system is nothing more than he and his student(s) manually pick up the balls. No hopper, tubes, etc. He is kind of just getting starting and is a good kid. I'd like to help him out within reason.

    Good tennis ball collector?

Guys - would love to hear your personal experience with different ball collectors (not hoppers). I've seen wire cage roller things, the lobster claw contraption, etc. What would be decent for someone that has a 250 ball cart? I might gift a local coach something but dont want to spend $350+. Ideas?

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

FYI -- received a marketing email from them today. Maybe consider joining their mailing list -- it seems like the odds of winning will be much higher now than months from now (after their distribution list grows). https://www.geausport.com/ I've posted several things about this company (in...

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

I use a mildly oversized racket (104 sq in; 27.5" length). A 110 sq in racket should fit no problem. It is a tight squeeze to fit 2 of my rackets on one side (there is another side that stores another 2) but this isn't because of the head size of the racket. Rather, it is due to the handle...

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

Easy. I wanted a "locker-style" bag that held at least 3 rackets, had no racket mfg branding, and overall had a subtle, stylish look. The Yonex bag looks like a great offering, but didn't tick all the boxes. Also, especially now more than ever, if I can support a small business I'll go for that...

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

I don't know where the bag is actually manufactured but the company is US-based...in SC I think. I traded a few emails with the owner/founder before purchasing. Keep in mind that even Yonex bags, which you might expect are made in Japan like their rackets, are actually manufactured in Vietnam.

Who has a Geau Axiom Tennis Bag?

As mentioned earlier, I decided to get the Axiom 4-racket bag rather than the backpack. I received and started using a couple weeks ago so I have had plenty of time to provide an honest evaluation. Everyone I have hit with has asked a lot of questions about the bag -- it is great looking...

How cold is too cold to play tennis?

7 am start in SoCal has been in the low 40s lately. Not ideal but still okay. Luckily, once the sun is up we get to 50s and 60s pretty quick! Playing after 6 pm or so can be chilly...just need to wear a moisture-wicking long-sleeve and warmup pants to start.

    New Asics Court FF 2

Agree on the outsole warranty on a $170 shoe...it should have one. If there is a silver lining, though, I have been able to get well over 6 months with regular (basically daily) play on all 3 pairs of my court FF and so far my court FF2 are holding up fine (one pair has 4-5 months of regular...

The Serve Master is totally worth it.

Just weighed the 3-ball version and it is 440g. What does a sock with 3 tennis balls weigh? My guess is around 200-225g? Also, the 3-ball version at full extension is 27" and has a molded 4 3/8" handle. So perhaps the device better replicates an actual racket (albeit quite head heavy and more...

    2019 Wilson Blade

Simple, more weight. This applies to the v7 16x19. I don't think more weight on the 18x20 (which has higher swing weight stock) will be as valuable. Also, I have posted before but I have converted from the 98 v7 16x19 to the 104 v7 16x19. When a bit of weight is added, performance-wise, it is...

The Serve Master is totally worth it.

Just get the 3 ball unless you have others in the household, etc. that will benefit from the others. It is VERY expensive for what it is, but if it really does eventually yield any serve improvement I think we can all agree that is worth $60.

The Serve Master is totally worth it.

My experience with the eye coach -- it is a good tool for building hand/eye and also working on properly striking the ball. I think it is nice but a bit expensive for what it is. Like mentioned above, it is particularly good for someone that just wants to gently stroke the ball and work on...

The Serve Master is totally worth it.

Ordered yesterday morning and already arrived today...from across the country. Pretty crazy. Anyways, yeah, it is very expensive for what it is but if $60 really can help further improve my serve...it is money well spent. We will see. If nothing else it is something to mess around with. "3 ball...
