Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Tecnifibre TFight 305 ISO

Good evening Talk Tennis! I know I am scraping towards the end of the time limit, but I decided to create a little video to go along with this review! Thank you again for the opportunity to be part of this play test. Due to time constraints, I had to cut a lot of stuff I wanted to include (even...

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Tecnifibre TFight 305 ISO

Grateful to be a part of this play test and I will have a review and specs of the frame received within a week. Today I have 3.5M Regionals matches and really thinking about using this racquet to put it through the ultimate test. I won my friendly scrims against my teammates with it as part of...

Will do, I have the Briffidi, scale, and balancing board. I intend on speccing them to the highest SW of both for the sake of consistency between both frames.

    Prince Official - Racquets

I go back and forth between the Blade 98 v8 and TT100 290 (added lead) just ordered two of the Tour 98 hoping that it combines both into one super racquet for my game

Closest racket to prince textreme warrior 100

Generally speaking, yes. A denser pattern (18x20) will break less quickly than an open pattern (16x19). anarosevoli saiid that the CX 400 Tour has a dense 16x19 pattern, meaning the center strings are closer to each other. So while it is a 16x19, the drill pattern is denser in the center than...

Help this 3.5's FH Groundstroke. My contact zone is too close and results in me arming/chicken winging?

Had a session over the weekend and attempted to be less close to the ball. Obviously my timing was a bit off in general and shanked more trying to get used to it. Below is where I was able to be further away from the ball for a few shots. I need to keep working on that and then hitting the ball...

Help this 3.5's FH Groundstroke. My contact zone is too close and results in me arming/chicken winging?

Haha fair point. I'm getting lessons for it. The coach looked at my forehand and had no real technical corrections which was disappointing, so I just asked him to focus on volleys until I can find someone else who can assist me there as I look at (you guys) and video footage to improve my...

Help this 3.5's FH Groundstroke. My contact zone is too close and results in me arming/chicken winging?

I'm atrocious at doubles (volleys!) and the singles guys on my team are 3.5A (appeal down from 4.0), so I have to play the doubles spots.

Past two seasons I had a negative record in 3.5 play! I deserve to be where I belong

Help this 3.5's FH Groundstroke. My contact zone is too close and results in me arming/chicken winging?

Here's a clip from last night's session and really want to smoothen out groundstrokes, especially the forehand which after looking at behind the back, Im like..swiping across my body instead of having my body go out in front. My elbow is very tucked in as well. Obviously I cansee how it looks...

more spin with 15L gut in hybrid than with 16 gauge gut

You might not be wrong in your assumption. I forgot where in this podcast, but they mention that thicker strings actually better for spin*.

    Manually Measuring Swingweight

My SW1 has been yielding results that match Tennis Warehouse's readings. Meaning, I have 3 frames that I bought from them that they measured and they are spot on with the SW1 (Blade 98, Pro Staff 100, Prince Ripstick) Where I do differ is stuff specced out from ****. I have 5 racquets modified...

Gut/poly improves almost any racquet (?)

I have seen my Blade 98s lose a mm or so when I did Nat Gut / Poly with a small differential. Let's say it was 52/50. 18m x 16c, so it did shorten a tiny bit.

Anyone pick up a Prince racquet during Labor Day Sale?

Picked up a 290g Textreme Tour, justttttttt in case that I switch to it as a main racquet. I liked it a lot after tail weighting it, but may have found it a tad too stiff. Didn't get a chance to experiment with different strings on it though.

I have 3 16x19 v8s, and one is 327W strung with 18g string (I'll measure unstrung SW once I pop the strings). So this one seems overspecced by quite a bit In usual Wilson Quality Control, my other 2 vary quite a bit. I forgot to measure the SW of one of them unstrung, but here's the data: V8...

Strung up four racquets today and I have the following specs for now (no HL/HH as I have no balance board, will edit them in by next week since I am getting one). Babolat Pure Drive 2021 strung with Ashaway Crossfire ZX (17g) - 320.5g / 313SW Wilson Blade V8 US Open strung with Hyper G Soft...

    Kobayashi Maru String Scenario

I saw your posts in the HGS thread and I started doing HGS/GhostWire (18g) to get my arm used to polyester again. It's soft, has great spin and power potential. 18g is just too low of lifespan though, even for me as a 3.5er (5 hours or less). I might bump up to 17g if my arm is still feeling...

    Kobayashi Maru String Scenario

I use VS 1.30 and mix up the crosses (but nothing ever sharp), but PTPA/Luxilon Element are the common ones I would use (16L). But, on about a 10-15% occasion, I will pop my poly crosses first (at around the same time of 15ish hours). When looking at my racquet at an angle, I can see the poly...

    Kobayashi Maru String Scenario

I consistently break strings in the middle so I know it's not a shank. It's just my strange swingpath that leads it to sawing extremely fast. I switched to the Blade 98 16x19 and I have seen a noticeable change in string durability so my stroke with that 18x16 open string pattern was not...
