    Dimitrov racket

Amazing pictures, that said I wouldn't take those stringing intake slips that seriously when it comes to racquet. Often times it just reflects whatever paintjob the racquet is in.

Will there be a three-peat league national champion at 18+ 4.0M?

When teams make use of self rated players I never see an issue with it. Mostly because at some point those who want to play USTA will need to jump in the water, and will be self rated at some point. So as long there are no rules broken than it is fine by me. I say this as someone who has had it...

Hitting partner doesn't play like he practices

I almost feel this has to be a troll job but in the off chance it is not I found these posts interesting..... Perhaps it was because you were coaching him on a play style that was not his own. Evident by your practice match, now one could guess as to why he would practice a different playing...

USTA league teams at your club - less since the pandemic?

In my areas USTA leagues still have not rebounded from Covid. Full disclosure I am in NorCal and they had issued that per league fee on top of the registration fee right before Covid (that they have since rescinded), which was meant with a lot of frustration to say the least.

Djokovic stood by Australia when it mattered. How quickly we forgot..

Thank you for following up, she was not vaxxed it was at the start of the school year here in America and it was not yet available to her age range. But it has been over three months and still she struggles. But she is tough and we have been told with time those lingering symptoms should go...

Implications of Djokovic's Adria Tour have not been taken seriously enough

Novak has always lacked the ability to truly in any meaningful way take responsibilities for his actions. Now this in and of itself is nothing outstanding, so many of the people in our own lives share in these traits. I even have some of this at times in my past. However with Novak the troubling...

Third and final AO attendee who used Djokovic's exemption has left Australia

This has been handled terribly, and the media coverage of his securing that medical exemption likely is in some way to blame. From what we have been told he had an exemption but when asked to provide information as to why he needed it or why he didnt get the vaccine he was not able to produce...

Djokovic stood by Australia when it mattered. How quickly we forgot..

My 4 year old has been kept safe thus far, but my healthy 10 year old athlete of a daughter got Covid, and is still suffering with some lose of taste and now has Asthma like symptons while exercising that she never had before. Again neither you nor I know how all of this works, the grace we...

Djokovic stood by Australia when it mattered. How quickly we forgot..

I would hope not, for me it would not have made a difference. No level of donation gives you the right to think that a nations rules and mandates do not apply to you. Especially Australia who has kept its own people from returning home for these same reasons. Again if he doesnt feel he should...

Implications of Djokovic's Adria Tour have not been taken seriously enough

Because you can do something does not mean you should. A lesson I am sure we all learned as kids. But to me as with alot of the issues I have with Novak the man; it turned out to be a super spreader event. Participants, and fans alike, in the aftermath he took no blame or responsiblity for...

Djokovic stood by Australia when it mattered. How quickly we forgot..

For context Novak made $6,511,233 in prize money that year, his donation of 25,000 equated to .38% of his earnings on court that year. So tell me again how one donation though amazing in its own right allows him the ability to break the rules and laws of what for him is a foreign nation. Keeping...

With Novak out will you still watch AO22?

Wont effect my viewing one bit, in fact though bumbled a bit I have gained some respect for Tennis Australia and Australia refusing to budge on this matter. He was given a tenative exemtption upon further review it was baseless and denied, works for me. The real shame is this could have all...

    Ymer with blacked-out racquet

Two things, first that is a terrible job at blacking out a racquet. Second these sorts of things amaze me. Like I am sure if they wanted to Babolat could get him a pro stock Pure Strike, or another racquet from their archives (thinner beamed Pure Control perhaps) that shares similar enough...

    Kokkinakis with Yonex?

Will have to wait to see what results might come from this change, but I said earlier in this thread I think this racquet change might fit his game better. When he was coming back from what is likely two injuries ago and was using the 18/20 Pure Strike he was playing some good tennis. Though he...

Do you think there is still a chance Djokovic could play the Australian Open?

I don't think there is anything to be done necessarily. If anyone does not want to be vaccinated for whatever the reasons that is perfectly acceptable. However there might be repercussions to not doing so. Locally that is being required to wear your mask in more instances, and more stringent...

Do you think there is still a chance Djokovic could play the Australian Open?

The fact that Novak thinks he is above having to get vaccinated is very telling of the type of player, and person he is. The same person that hits a line judge and than acts incredulous that he must be DQ'd, is the same exact person who thinks these rules issued by a country do not apply to him...

Poll: How big will this AO asterisk size be?

This and other posts like it to more are incredibly short sighted. The fact that Novak thinks he is above having to get vaccinated is very telling of the type of player, and person he is. The same person that hits a line judge and than acts incredulous that he must be DQ'd, is the same exact...

Need advice for playing against heavy topspin

Something not many have said, is what skills do you have in your game that you could do to make it harder for your opponent to dictate with their top spin and/or kick serve? Meaning if you are a more flat hitter are you maybe trying to hit through the court more, aim for the corners to flip the...

New rule ...have to belong to club to play on team

Not knowing anything else I would say this might be a club rule and even if she is at the USTA level might be here telling you what she was told about your club. A good example is where I live there is a franchise of fitness centers called In-Shape (I know how original), and they operated 3...

How many of you are genuine friends with your hitting partners?

This is a funny question I was just speaking with a hitting partner about this. While we regularly check in on things outside of tennis we are the equivalent to tennis co-workers, it does seems more than half of our club are friends. Superficially friends of course. As some have mentioned tennis...

My thoughts on doubles as a singles player

This whole channel has some high level doubles, 5.0 to open. And as you can see there is a variety of tactics. The major theme you see watching players of this skill level and even the pros is placement and shot selection more than just pace. Also closing to the net on your own terms and not...

    Grigor Dimitrov H22s

At this point perhaps he is searching for something that cant be found? We can all speculate as far as what setup is best for his game; but fact of the matter even if there is an ideal spec Grigor still has to play with it and feel comfortable.

How many slams would Sampras win if he got lost gen and next gen?

If we are moving his playing career up, is he more apt to change racquets or tinker with setup? Does he string his string preferences? All things he has said post retirement he would have or should have done. If all of that is true than yes he wins more majors because I dont think a new racquet...

    The 'no show' captain's wager...

There is a team by where I live that is notorious for doing this. Though they dont always wait until the match start time to do this, often they will email 90mins out from a match that they have to cancel/default/reschedule. Of note they are usually the furthest out in our area so part of it is...

That, and Wilson especially via their social media feeds are leaning in pretty heavy on athleisure. Their tennis footwear line while solid always seemed a little pricy when compared to everyone short of Nike, and Adidas.

Is it bad etiquette to drop shot older guys during league play?

Casual play, rallying, warmups, that is when drop shot is in bad taste. When a match starts, drop shot away. There was a pro at our club once who would never engage when people would complain about there opponent, in any capacity about any topic. On topic I heard him on so many occasions...

How To Handle Opponent Accusing Me of Hooking?

As many have said adult rec tennis and especially high 3.5 and 4.0s have a different impression of their own skills. So balls that you see are even way out they assume they hit with so much spin it must have hit in. Never mind that especially in a baseline to baseline rally the ball is 78 feet...
