Adding weight at the 7 inch location

Thank you, guys! I'll try 1/2 inch leadtape and let you know the result. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A530F met Tapatalk

Adding weight at the 7 inch location

I think tungsten is rather expensive so I was considering 16 inch of 1/2 inch leadtape. Will that work as well?

Adding weight at the 7 inch location

My Wilson Ultra Tour contains foam so I can't add more weight into the handle. Besides I want add weight at the top of the handle as that seems to have more advantages vs at the end of the handle.

Adding weight at the 7 inch location

I want to put 8 grams of lead at the top of the handle in order to counterbalance. What is the easiest and neatest way to do this? For example I would need 32 inches of 1/4 inch lead (or 16 inches of 1/2 inch ones). I fear that would create a huge bump. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A530F met Tapatalk

Keep playing with your TC95 16x19 if you're happy with them. Besides you better stay away from this forum if you want to save your wallet. :D

    Wilson Ultra Tour (Monfils)

Last week I purchased an used WIlson UT. The first time I hit against the wall with the WUT I was very impressed by the great feel of the sweetspot. It really reminds me of my Angell TC95. Not strange as both frames are foam filled and they have the same RA 63 value. However I noticed the WUT...

Does this also count for the K7? I can't find any sticker with a number on my K7 Lime. Yesterday night I ordered my second one (without any comments). I hope I'll receive one with the same specs as my first one.

Did anyone play with K7 Lime and Wilson Ultra Tour? How do they compare regarding: feel/feedback of the sweetspot. I read somewhere that the sweetspot of the WUT is more like PT57A whereas I think the Lime has a less distinct sweetspot. I actually prefer the feedback of my TC95 18x20 63RA...

Why is there a trend towards dampening feel?

Adding weight always increases swing weight. It only makes a frame more maneuverable when you lower the balance point. At least when the swingweight will not be too high for the player.

I already installed an Oehms Premium leather (the dark brown one) on my K7 Lime and I just received another two ones. They are indeed very nice soft and solid leather grips :)

I played with all 3 frames very extensively. I earlier posted a comparison between these 3 frames. They are great frames that you can't go wrong with. The TC95 63RA might have the most addictive feel to me. The TC97 18x20 has a more pronounced crisper feel that I don't like as much as the TC95...

Yes. Head RIP Control 1.20 mains at 24kg and MSV CoFocus 1.18 crosses at 22kg .

I seldom break strings when playing on grass so I have no problems with that. RIP Control 1.20 mm has been my favourite multi for years. It has such a great feel that is much more comfortable than a copoly but it is still a control string with only a little more power than a poly. Together with...

Where did you add your lead strips and how much?

In stock condition I thought the K7 Lime too flimsy and not powerful enough. However it depends on what you're used to. I am used to heavier frames like my TC95 63RA 18x20 12pts HL 330gr unstrung (with 4 grams lead at 10-11 and 1-2. I posted pictures of this earlier into this thread). That's...

Is Wilson the only brand using Graphite/Kevlar?

Angell K7 frames also have a construction with aramid fibres (ie kevlar).

Yes, 2 days,... but I meant I never already received my order the next day after they shipped the parcel (like @Jouke did).

How do you manage that? To me it always took at least a few days to Holland.

I also put Oehms leather on my K7 Lime. Mine is really dark brown (Premium). Is yours the Pro version?

No, the grip pallets of all prebuilt frames like the K-series cannot be replaced.

No, they feel the same size to me.

I just asked Angell again about this and he confirmed that the K7 has moulded PU direct onto the hairpin.

Last times I only played with my K7 Lime as I indeed try to switch. The K7 Lime has the perfect headsize to me and it plays very similar as the TC95 18m regarding ball launch and directional control. Both frames have a different feel. The TC95 has that satisfied solid feel with a twack sound...

Sounds like a good plan! Thinner gauge strings will lower the swingweight and besides they'll give more feel as well.

Did you already play with this setup? I only hit against the wall of my vestibule within my apartment while my neighbours aren't at home. :-D It still feels maneuverable to me.

Your strings (and maybe dampener as well) must be a lot heavier than mine as my K7 also weighs 350 grams. I measured this as follows: Strung with Head RIP Control 1.20mm and MSV CoFocus 1.18mm + Pacific O-dampener: 312 grams (Unfortunately I forgot to weight unstrung but I guess the strings...

Similar like I did (see this post). I guess you put a leather grip as well?
