Can I get away with no starting knots?

After reading another thread, I come back to this question again. Since the tension is always 60lb no matter with starting knot or finishing knot, the same tension (60lb) could pull the finishing knot into the grommet as well and causing damage? Or that only happens when I pull directly on it...

    tension calibrator alternatives

Thanks. That Decut bow scale is quite expensive. Any low cost option? I used my friend's gamma calibrator to test my stringer, it is about 2lb higher. I didn't bother to adjust, just minus about 2lb around 50.

    tension calibrator alternatives

Seems many ppl use digital scale for tension calibration. Just wonder any particular ones you recommend? I searched a little bit, but found that many models do "lock" the reading after it stabilized. I am hoping to find one without locking feature, so I can keep monitoring the tension...

Graphene Speed Pro, one piece or two?

@Irvin, yes. It is not from a reel since I am experimenting different strings. So total is a set with 40'.

Graphene Speed Pro, one piece or two?

That is a good suggestion. How do I measure length for the short side? Need to do some homework on one piece stringing. Yes, it is Youtek version, and required 21" for main. But I guess that includes extras for tie-off. Jim's method might work since it will save as much string as possible...

Can I get away with no starting knots?

Thanks. That means that tension pull directly on starting knot is (much) greater than the tension on the finishing knot (since it is after pull)? Jim's first method seems pretty straight forward to me. What is the advantage of 2nd method? It looks like a variation of Yusuki method on the main?

Can I get away with no starting knots?

Quite new for stringing, searched but can't find a definite answer. I am confused with the starting knots, thinking why can't we just use normal tie-off knots. I guess the reason it that the holes reserved for starting knots are usually bigger than others, so we need a bigger knots? But by...

Graphene Speed Pro, one piece or two?

I plan to string Youteck Speed pro in hybrid using one set of kirschbaum strings (40'). Guess I have to cut the string at 21' for main as below? YOUTEK GRAPHENE SPEED PRO,48-57,21'M-19'C,18MX20C,NONE,7B,8T,7T-10B That means I can't use the 19' left for another main in the future any more...

Prince Neos 1000 Glide Bar Alignment

Thanks. Wondering why one foot plate is very wide, and the other is very slim. Seems you can put them in either way while stringing. Nothing got blocked.

Prince Neos 1000 Glide Bar Alignment

Just got an used Neos, and I am fine tuning the glide bar. I would like to keep the free play as little as possible. I think as long as it glide smoothly, a little extra resistance is fine with me. Hopefully that will keep the tension more consistent. What's your opinion on that? Also...

Questions about Prince Neos (vs Eagnas combo 900le)

Thank you all for the suggestions. Finally pulled the trigger and got the Neos. Man, it is heavy and built like a tank. Got a little bruise while carrying the upper part. ;) The machine didn't come with any tools/accessories. Just the machine with 2 sliding bar and clamps. So I need to at...

I am brand new to stringing, and considering to buy a used machine to string for my family and friends, so probably only a couple of jobs a month. There are a Neos and a Eagnas combo 900le for sale locally. They both have about similar price between 200-300. Neos belongs to a sports club and...

Is $650 price tag good for a SP Star Edge?

I live in Boston area. Is there a way to send pm on this forum? Is the star version much better than the lite-R? I think the lite-r has the best value if the only difference is the battery.

Where are you located? In Canada? There is no shipping charge and tax in US. I plan to buy a ball machine. If you are not far, I am interested.
