MEP vs Another Coach: Who Wins?

iirc, he said whatever he earns from tennis goes to a charity.

We didn't realize, how big of a mistake that would be. It started a steep decline for REAL TENNIS after posting the series.

I think what gets overlooked are discipline, attention to detail, and perseverance. Instead impatience, fear, uncertainty and doubt take over.

Neither. Actually it's to attain health, fitness, agility and social and mental(problem solving) skills. Top spin is a significant tool.

Been doing forehand wrong the whole time: tennis tips for the obvious

BMG can send the video of him emptying his 12th beer of the day. He does not actually play tennis ( I don't think any poster plays much tennis IRL except Curious abd Zill).

I think he got us wrapped around his arm by habit. He is an "arm"y person. (IYKWIM)

The polar opposite of feet needs a fix imo, haha.

I think Curios will run away with a lead of 6-0 4-1 serving at 40-0, then will double fault and will manage a deuce. Will eventually lose the game and break all his rackets after blowing 6-1 lead in the second set tie breaker. So final score will be, Curios 6-0, 6-7 and default with no rackets...

3.0 is about right imo. NTRP 4.5 in couple of years? While everyone is different, this is extremely unlikely via the current route of learning from YT videos. May be a possibility with 5 days a week coaching year round (assuming no injuries)

Been doing forehand wrong the whole time: tennis tips for the obvious

Why do you think he cannot compare and see the differences? I don't think the difference is 'gigantic', he has a nice looking compact forehand. It's now the question of making it more powerful and consistent.

Is it the feet or what's above the knees (and upto the shoulders) which needs a fix?

    Curious’ match/practice videos

He says he is now ntrp 3.0 equivalent after 3 years, while it's good, he is not exactly on a path to develop skills to become a 4.5 within a few years. He likes to hit hard that means he has to develop proper technique to win points.

Been doing forehand wrong the whole time: tennis tips for the obvious

Where's the body weight going at contact? Should the knee be under the head instead of far in front? It's interesting how rec players have so many things in reverse. Falling back vs falling forward, arm up when it should be down and down when it should be up. I guess we can just reverse...

Been doing forehand wrong the whole time: tennis tips for the obvious

Sure, visually looks close to a good forehand to untrained eyes. Agree with BMG, his forehand is not fundamentally sound to produce quality shots. Curious is mostly arming his forehand and not using the pelvic and trunk muscles to generate power. Look for the total displacement of shoulder (and...

How do you that they are the main things you need? Actually they are not the things for you now, let alone the main things. You need to learn to get ready and perform basic swing using the right muscles in right sequence. More reps will make you worse (injury down the road ).

Loading is a defined term in biomechanics research. Google for "limb loading in tennis by elliott" Loading is the rate of force development, and torque. It's applied by internally by muscle force and torque - for example, twisting or stretching. (Of course, externally by pressing hard to the...

Sure, it's good enough. "over-the-top" puts more of ISR into the ball than "around" swing path. and "around" is a bit slower and puts more stress. Why not put ISR into the ball instead of throwing it away. He can get more for less(or the same for a lot less) by tweaking the toss, swing path...
