No, but there is a guy on here who keeps posting that the Spinfire weighs the same as the Proton which is a lie.

Spinfire with lithium battery upgrade and tax costs nearly $3000 and weighs 46 pounds. 150 balls weigh about 20 lbs. Ball hopper 5-10 lbs. Rackets, towels, drinks, tennis bag is another 5-10 lbs. So that is 76 to 86 lbs for the spinfire.

Also, a lot of players would have normally participated in both Indian Wells and Miami. However, since Indian Wells was postponed or canceled, they decided it wasn't worth traveling to the United States just for one tournament especially with all the Covid considerations and protocols.

The proton weighs as much as a 6-7 month old baby. It is very portable. In contrast, a 60+ pound ball machine is not portable just because it has wheels. You still have to load and unload it, lug it up and down stairs, and over unpaved surfaces.

Got this from Jonah about 4 days ago: Parts for the Proton are mostly made in China, and ocean-shipped to California for assembly. We’re still getting quotes and lead-times for some parts, but as soon as I have all the critical ones I’ll make the first blog post. It should be in about a week.
