Why doesn't the Wimbledon youtube channel post highlights?

I know, it's crazy. Even the NFL post match highlights immediately after each game... and FIFA World Cup.

Why doesn't the Wimbledon youtube channel post highlights?

Thanks, th Thanks, I do see that video, but it's the only match highlight posted in the past 24 hours (East coast US). That playlist is interesting, but most of the videos don't play ("The uploader has not made this video available in your country.")

Why doesn't the Wimbledon youtube channel post highlights?

During the Australian and French Opens, I was able to watch highlights each day of matches on their youtube channels. Even if they only showed a handful of points - usually the setpoints and match points - it was still nice to see. The Wimbledon youtube channel in contrast seems to be going out...

    "I saw paint - OUT"

Ha, I see I should have spent a bit more time on my original post, they were amicable matches. But, no it was more of an "Are you sure? It looked in from here" after hitting a second backhand down the line that clearly touched the line from my inline vantage point. I guess what bugged me was...

    "I saw paint - OUT"

FWIW here's a video of a tennis ball being dropped on a driveway in slow motion: I agree that the ball compression is too fast for the human eye, that's why I disagree with the concept of calling the ball out based on seeing paint if the player is 10ft+ from the line, you can't do it.

    "I saw paint - OUT"

Well I agree with playing better and not getting too hung up on the calls. When you hit a ball down the line though and your eyes are roughly inline with the sideline, you have a very good view of whether the ball touches the line or not. A much better view than someone who is perhaps closer but...

    "I saw paint - OUT"

This is fine when the player is close to the line, but when someone is 10ft+ away from the line they're looking at the underside of the ball to make the call.

    "I saw paint - OUT"

I look at the ball from above, and use the approach from soccer. Not all balls that intersect above the line actually touch it, but in this way I err on the side of caution. I guess I didn't make my first post too clear, but what I see are players looking under the ball and calling balls...

    "I saw paint - OUT"

OK, who came up with this concept of calling the ball out if "you see paint between the ball and the line"? I have played a number of players now who seemed to call every close ball out. Some of them were down the line shots on my part, so I had a good view of where the ball was hitting, and...

First real minimalist tennis shoe coming soon

There was an article in the latest paleo magazine recommending the Reebok Crossfit Nano for tennis. It also has a 4mm heel to toe drop. Has anyone here tried these for tennis?

    Total team default penalty

OK that would make sense. In this case though, they cancelled the matches altogether, so instead of being 2-8, that team is 2-3 now. (My team is went from 5-5 to 5-4). I think the usta official just messed up and thought a double default was a loss for the team (2 courts defaulted) whereas it...

    Total team default penalty

I played in a mixed doubles league this Summer with 5 other teams, so we played every team twice. The last place team didn't play their last match, so this resulted in a "total team default". Surprisingly (to me at least), instead of just being penalized with a loss for the defaulted match...

Why Federer Lost Wimbledon (he can fix this)

I agree. I'd especially like Federer to do more on Djokovic's 2nd serve and try to drive the ball back hard instead of slicing (point 3 above). When Djokovic goes for a safe 2nd serve it's frustrating to see Fed tap it back to the middle of the court and have to play defense when he could have...

Why Federer Lost Wimbledon (he can fix this)

Jeff Salzenstein sent his take on Federer's performance in the Wimbledon final against Djokovic to his email list earlier this week. I hope he doesn't mind if I post it here, I thought it was really interesting:

help with visualizing forehand unit turn/racket drop

Thanks that helps. I just realized that indeed my elbow is usually bent has far back as it will go when in the slot, an uncomfortable feeling.

help with visualizing forehand unit turn/racket drop

I noticed that a major flaw in my forehand swing is that I start to rotate forward during the racquet drop itself - this results in my racket arm and racket moving too far back behind the plane of my torso giving an uncomfortable feel to the swing overall, as well as a tendency to hit the ball...

    Biggest Pet Peeve in Tennis?

I've got one of these close to me and it's great for using a ball machine as most tennis players wouldn't use it. I also see quite a few first time tennis players go there to mess around having never played tennis before - it's a great place for that kind of thing as you don't have to worry...

    Biggest Pet Peeve in Tennis?

I can see inspecting the balls at the beginning of the service game, but doing so on every point is exaggerated. If you're going to do that, then figure out how to keep all 3 balls on your person (perhaps use both shorts pocket). I didn't know the 90 second rule, looked it up after the match...

    Biggest Pet Peeve in Tennis?

+10. I also played a guy who always wanted all 3 balls, made a big show of inspecting the 3 balls then discarded one to the back fence. After the point was over, he retrieved the 3rd ball, spent about 5 seconds inspecting the 3 balls again, and discarded one again. He did this every single point...

    Calling footfaults is important

There are many players at the rec level who step a foot or so into the court a full second before they hit the ball. If they do this every single time they serve, it's perfectly OK to say "hey, watch the foot fault, you're faulting on every serve". The 'asshats' are the people who never said...

Silent Partner - Final Few Balls get stuck in the bin

I've had jams after I got caught in the rain once and some of the balls were still a little wet. But that's the only time. Someone in this forum once mentioned pipe insulation as a way of preventing balls from staying at the edges and not going down the chute. I can confirm that this works...

I have the opposite problem, I never understand who would buy all these flashy pro shirts. changing grips for high balls?

Yes, I agree the picture isn't great, I just posted that picture because of the bevel illustration, but I don't use a pistol grip myself. I actually do use an Eastern Hammer grip right now and find it works well with low balls, but I guess my original post was about the merits of changing grips...

    changing grips for high balls?

As I understand the SW grip, it is 90° from continental, and is the grip you get if you pick a flat racquet up off the ground. (AFAIK there is no difference between backhand and forehand SW grip in terms of bevel)

    changing grips for high balls?

I agree with your post, and I really want to improve my stroke mechanics for above the waist balls as I know I am not comfortable hitting them and am doing something wrong. As a side note, I have been told a couple times by tennis pros to just wait until the ball drops into my "comfort" zone, or...
