My good man, were you not using Pacific/Co-Focus a year ago? I believe it was you who started the entire gut/CoFocus trend on here. :)

    PV Audio's Playtest Thread

Good summer to all! Just wanted to "update" in that there is no real update. Still going strong with the Prestige Pro, although I cracked one on a serve  but am doing Scorpion/Nvy at 47/50. Can anyone give me a run down of what's the "hot" string out there these days?

Cut the string from the reel or give the reel to the stringer?

Give it to the stringer. Every. Single. Time. The last year I strung for my school's club team and others in the city, I refused to string a racquet from a reel unless I could cut the string. Reason being, people assume all machines are the same. People think all methods are the same. People...

Practising serves in my front garden

AHHHHHH! I am not kidding, I just yelled out loud in a wince during your second serve. I tore my rotator cuff years ago from using too much internal rotation on kick serves, and you're going far beyond what I ever did. You need a complete reformulation before you permanently injure yourself. I...

    Kevlar™ Poll

TDK, I don't like even addressing you since what you say is always hyperbolic or incorrect, but I just have to say this. Your reasoning is based on 100% fallacy because it is based on an appeal to ignorance. I would wager that about 95% of people who post in this forum understand that Kevlar has...

Theory: Kevlar is better for club players than poly

You are 100% wrong...again. Nylon is a polyamide which means that the polymer is based on amide functional groups and bonds. Nylon and Kevlar are both forms of polyamide based materials, much like wool and silk in the natural world. Polyester, however, contains an ester functional group. They...

Theory: Kevlar is better for club players than poly

Yes, your conclusion does not make a theory. When the majority of the evidence points to the contrary, your theory does not become true because it applies to you. If the majority of TE sufferers are club level players (and obviously they are), then any string with the highest likelihood of...

What's the best polyester string ever made?

How can you possibly lump ALU, BBO, and 4G all under the same category when they all play nothing even remotely alike?

NEWS FLASH RPM Blast is the only string that snaps back.

If your poly is still snapping back like fresh after a month of play time, then honestly, you don't need to be using poly.

NEWS FLASH RPM Blast is the only string that snaps back.

I actually just counted: 43 comprised of natural gut, multifilament and synthetic gut, and 53 poly strings.

NEWS FLASH RPM Blast is the only string that snaps back.

No, it's just your point that's incorrect. Until this past spring when I liquidated, I stocked over 90 strings (yes, 9 times 10), over 50 of which were poly. Every single string in my inventory did this, and I had RPM in two gauges. RPM is not even close to being at the top for spin strings...

Can you still have a powerful and effective serve, if you don't jump/hop into it?

My friend, I assure you that you're not doing it right. You should never realize that you're airborne when serving. As already said, it's simply a result of driving with your legs. The other reason that jumping is bad is because a serve is about perpendicular angles. You need to drive your body...

What's the best polyester string ever made?

    1. WC Scorpion 1.22mm 2. WC Black5Edge 1.22mm 3. Signum Pro Tornado 1.23mm 4. Discho Iontec Salmon 18g 5. Babolat Pro Hurricane 18g If I had to say overall what the best string for the most people is, I'd say WC Silverstring 1.20mm. That would be my #6 choice because it simply does...

NEWS FLASH RPM Blast is the only string that snaps back.

Yes. I promise you that you're doing something horribly wrong if none of those other strings snap back freshly strung. Even synthetic gut snaps back when fresh.

What's the best polyester string ever made?

Out of the ones you've listed? Either BHBR or Tour Bite. Neither, IMO, comes close to what I feel are the best out there. My opinion, of course, is just that.

NEWS FLASH RPM Blast is the only string that snaps back.

With all due respect, you clearly have either had your racquets strung terribly or simply have not played with many strings. Every poly I have strung exhibits this behavior.
