Alu power in a racquet for 3 years

I dug out an old racquet that i strung with alu power 3 years ago. i remember hitting with it for one session, then haven't used it since. minimal notching. Typically, i get 4 hours out of a set before i break it in a 16x19. I have a hit with a teaching pro this week and i can easily just throw...

What to expect after not competing for 5 years?

I haven't played in competition in say, 5 years. During that time, I've played twice a week, taking lessons, ball machine, occasional buddy to just rally with, etc.... I hit with a teaching pro who is a 6.0 level and i can do 20 to 30 ball rally's at a 5.5 level easily. Not saying that's my...

hawk touch red different than hawk touch black?

currently using the red but cant find it anymore. i suspect the black version would feel even slightly different than the red because i have experienced this with other strings that are the same name, but different color. where can i get the red? thanks.

    Felix Auger Alliassime racquet specs

    Felix Auger Alliassime racquet specs

What can i say? i had a chance to get 2 of his frames, right out of his bag, lead tape under bumper. hard to believe at 11.8, 33cm? thats a very common spec range these days..... tell it to Sinner who is around 11.4, 33.3 ish..........

More power from a platform stance on serve?

and its about discovering which one works best for you and your body type, etc.....

More power from a platform stance on serve?

it just seems that in the platform its easier to hold the tossing arm up, have that hitting shoulder lower, getting that nice power position and shoulder tilt..... think sampras position before initiation of swing. again, whatever matrix makes that easier from one person to another is a highly...

More power from a platform stance on serve?

More power from a platform stance on serve?

Always had a pin point stance, recently tried platform and noticed a bump in power. 5.0 level, anyone else find the same? i thought traditionally, pin pont gave the most power potential.

    4g durability?

Thanks for all the great replies. i will try a 16 guage something...... that appears to be my answer. dont want to swithch frames...my racquet trying history is way to much to get into here but i will certainly hone in on the guage increase

    4g durability?

i usually get 2 or 3 hits in before i snap with other, less open string beds, so i am not looking for any miracles just to get 2 or 3 sessions in

    4g durability?

Liking a boom mp with specs of 12.0, 33cm balance or around 4 points headlight. swingweight just north of 350. strung it with 4g 1.25 because i knew this racquet has string eating tendencies. 1.5 hours into a mostly rallying/but serves and returns mixed in, i notched out and broke. however, i...

No motivation to compete but still like to hit?

In my competitive years i was always able to keep the winning/ losing thing in perspective. I think i just like the process.... keeping fit off court makes me feel better anyway and keeps injuries away so i can hit the way i want even at my age. Taking lessons keeps me interested in improving...

No motivation to compete but still like to hit?

I am a former uspta teaching pro in my early fifties and havent played competitively in several years. I hit/take lessons with a young pro that has atp points and we drill/ work on my strokes, etc..... i have a nice playmate ball machine and drill with that once a week or so. 5.0 level. I have...

    The gut/poly thread

more specifically, keeping the vs as a constant, i really like how the 4g gives a ton of bite, control, and predictability. not missing any power either...... think i answered my own question. i could have said...... if i love the bite, control, and predictability of a 4g cross, is there a need...

Totally! the 2 tuxedo paint pro staffs of his i got last year were L5, but with his older specs which were 12.5, 33cm balance. These wimbledon 2021 test h22 were again, L5, but much lighter in weight and balance.... 12.2, 32.2 balance. He was always a 17 gauge gut guy, but these had 16 vs in the...
