Do Novak's extra Final Losses at USO make him greater than Nadal there since they both have 4 titles now?

We are arguing hypotheticals here anyway and I think that both have their arguments to be better than the other and one can't go wrong choosing one over another. Some choose Connors over any of these 2 anyway :D

Do Novak's extra Final Losses at USO make him greater than Nadal there since they both have 4 titles now?

I think that Fedr was a better matchup for Andre than Pete was, likewise I think Pete would have been a better matchup for Fedr :D

Do Novak's extra Final Losses at USO make him greater than Nadal there since they both have 4 titles now?

It doesn't work like that otherwise, bar injury, Fed was the favorite to win USO 2017 :D

Novak: This is one of my 2 biggest professional goals – Surpassing Roger’s record for longest No. 1 and win as many Slams as possible"

That reminds me about how many close matches Djokovic has won that could have easily gone the other way.2-3 points and he would have had a different career, that's how close the margins are :D

Where do you rank Medvedev among Hewitt, Roddick and Safin?

Well, we should ask Pete about Hewitt and Safin at least :D

Absolute dominance over the sport since Wimbledon 2014 by Djokovic

I don't know, some random chick over the internet :D

Absolute dominance over the sport since Wimbledon 2014 by Djokovic

It's unlikely that we will ever see that again :D

Why do people find clay tennis so boring?

It was boring in the 90s as you could fall asleep given how slow the pace of the game was lol I would say clay is much more exciting these days in comparison.

The Holy Trinity of the 4 slams...

I never understood why Connors gets extra credit for winning on different surfaces. The campions who came next had to play only on HC, they didn't have the chance to play on different surfaces too so things that are out of their control should not weight more in the convo :D

The Holy Trinity of the 4 slams...

Arguably but Fed has his arguments too, like dominance, even though he didn't have the same longevity. In his defence though, the USO conditions were slower for most of the 2010s while Sampras still had the courts taylor made for his style :D

Why did Djokovic lose to Musetti?

No problem, he somehow makes up for it in Rome :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

If you are not older than 28, like Nadal was in 2014, you have no excuse :D :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

If we are being serious, Djokovic is not the same player if he peaks in 2001-2006 :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

I think peak Fedr should at least beat 2018 Nadal.Young Nadal returned many balls that should be winners against the older version. Now you can tell me that it's not all about explosivness and speed, but court coverage is very important, especially against a shotmaker like Fed was :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

2015 Federer was a good version of him, it's undeniable, not his best, but still kicking it.A step slower, but the strokes were still there.Of course he would trouble his younger self :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

I think peak Fed would love to play against the slower Nadal at the FO, rather than against the cheetah returning every ball younger Ralph and might win a match there.Djokovic obviously would score wins at the AO, although I dunno how the stickier Rebound Ace would fit his game :D

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

The 2004 USO match was in very windy conditions in the latter part, which influenced the game significantly.I can't see Djokovic doing any better (remember how he did in the windy 2012 vs Mury), while Nadal would not take advantage of the matchup due to the court speed and especially the lower...

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

I just love how those who are not even 30 years old today underrate those years at the beginning of the century lol

2001-2006 vs 2014-2019? What period was better?

When you think that 2010 was not better than any of the 2001-2006 years, bar 2002 :D
  21. ForehandRF

Was 2012 Djokovic the true peak Djokovic at the USO?

If he couldn't beat Mury in those conditions, I don't think he would have beat 2004 Agassi in even windier weather :D :D

2011 USO Djokovic vs 2007 USO Roddick

The thing is that many times we heard that Fed is the "darling" of organizers, yet they slowed down the AO and the USO right when his biggest rivals were peaking. They sped up the USO again in 2020, when Fed was not relevant anymore. Not saying it was a conspiracy or something, but it just shows...

    2011 Djokovic in 2007
