    ATP500 Rio Open 2024

You really don't know he's ranked in the 600th ATP place (like 645th or something)? But I understand your emotions how exciting it is to see a youngster out of juniors to get to ATP 500 quarters. I think the ATP is doing something great for those amazing youngsters from junior ITF tour as with...

Joao Fonseca - how many slams

17 year old Fonseca will have to share those slams with 18 year old Mensik who's actually closer to getting his first slam soon.

    Moratologlou back with Holger!

Oh please! Mouratoglou with Rune is the best choice given the circumstances and what Patrick has previously done for Holger and his family. Rune's played his best tennis under Mouratoglou's instructions that didn't seem confrontational to the hot blooded young man and his demanding mother...

    Blatant Cheating in USTA Tournament

With or without an umpire, such situations are not uncommon in ITF/junior ITF Futures. When my 15-year-old son played in a J60 junior ITF tournament's final (hard court) and called the service ball out about 2-3 seconds later, he was told his call was too late and that the ball was on the line...

Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki awarded wildcards for Indian Wells

How do we know who/what demands who/what? How do we know players / personalities earn the demand? I recall V Williams had an excellent first match of her pro life after receiving her first WC. I don't know how the demand for her was then, but I believe her coach and sponsor had something to do...

Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki awarded wildcards for Indian Wells

If this is about sponsors, so be it. But, I think V Williams is selfishly taking an opportunity from someone else who'd make money for any brand for years to come.

How is this UTR scenario possible?

I've said it before and I'll say it again that I see the UTR of players' ratings higher in some areas while lower in others. Players that are in higher UTR ranking areas more often get the advantage of playing with opponents with higher rankings which ultimately helps improve rankings of others too.

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

No matter whether I agree or not, I thank you for your professional views and supporting reasoning behind that. I appreciate it.

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

Seeds to play each other in quarters ought to be as follows; 1 vs 7 or 8, 2 vs 7 or 8, 3 vs 5 or 6, 4 vs 5 or 6. This is how uniformed the quarters ought to be and what the basic Math is about. It still is random although not enough for the ones that hope for luck. This is about earned spots in...

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

Yeah, I am working on it :) Yeah that was a 100% in the first 3 J100s R48s 2024 in ITF. Anyhow, what's the percentage of 1st seed playing the 3rd seed in semis then? Really, shouldn't we use the basic Math in draws as much as we work on the young players' skills?

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

I've contacted the Roehampton ITF office and I've been told it's "normal" and that in those J100 tournaments' cases "the line of rule for the 16 seeds was happen to be drawn at the 5th seeds in all three of them. I still have a hard time believing this coincidence. I wonder how the draw's done...

Any UTR 11-12 hitting partners in San Diego, California?

I have read some threads that are old now on this topic and seen some posters such as @sureshs posting in, and so I am starting a new one to ask the question-Are there currently any willing high level and well conditioned hitting partners in San Diego, California? Note that this would be for...

    Becker quits as Rune's coach

You make it sound as if Becker was the villain here but forgive me if you don't mean that. When top players or coaches cannot get to do their jobs, we all lose.

    Becker quits as Rune's coach

I see. His electronic travel authorization isn't authorized then. I guess nations with the most criminals don't want more criminals to come in. So, the jail-door only unlocked on Boris Becker, not on his deeds.

    Becker quits as Rune's coach

Does he really suggest the issue is his inability to get into some countries?

    Becker quits as Rune's coach

I don't know if this is the truth that Becker wasn't allowed to Australia, but I think that if a country doesn't give one like Boris a permission to come do his job there it is the this country's fault.

    Becker quits as Rune's coach

I don't believe that because plenty of nations where ATPs are held don't ask for anything but a passport pic from EU or British citizens.

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

Do you guys really have no experiences with R48s tournaments? All junior ITF Boys’ round of 48 J100s around the world in January and February 2024 where 5th seeds in every J100 have been put in a disadvantage for quarterfinals. Queretaro in Mexico/February 5th, 2024-Draw to quarterfinals...

Why are draws for junior ITF tournaments so out of control, especially in R48s?

Juniors that travel around the world for their ranking points often base their decisions to make their trips based on the ITF Acceptance Lists. Tournaments with R32s sometimes match 6th or 5th seeds against 2nd seeds in quarters which isn't so bad as when 5th seeds are matched vs 1st seeds in...

How many Alcaraz fans on this forum?

I love the way Carlos plays, because I see varieties of skills and talents in his game. The young Spaniard is the future of tennis as he brings more excitment than all other top current tennis players to the courts. I'd put Rune in the same category although Alcaraz's discipline, respect and...

Junior ITF Rankings Show US With 14 PLayers In Top 100

There currently are 14 American junior tennis players ranked in top 100 which is amazing when considering some other powers such as Spain with 7 only players in. But comparing the size of the US to EU which has 55 of their individual nations' teenagers ranked in top 100 would be fair more...

    Head Rackets and their Uniformity

Your assumption is correct. That I do need to look into. If he chooses another "generation/version", he'll have to use all of the same ones then. I see. The TW advice on here that I should hire a pro to match rackets is to be considered. The "customizing" is one thing that has been on my mind...

    Head Rackets and their Uniformity

My 15-year-old son's using Head Radical MP, I think the same as Taylor Fritz, but a bit heavier one at 315 grams unstrung. He's got a bunch of the same rackets as he plays the junior ITF and Futures now. He's telling me that his Head rackets don't feel the same, aren't the same in sense of...

    UTR Flex League Match Blog

Yes, juniors look at their UTRs for the recognition. Sponsors and college recruiters may look at the ratings but the ITF rankings take it symbolically. You won't get seeded in the tournament based on your UTR rating, so why pay attention to it. The rating's useless basically.

Is Sinner vs Medvedev in a GS final good for tennis?

I like your reasoning and the supposition that neither Medvedev nor Sinner are good examples for future tennis players, recreational tennis and fans of the sport. Daniil's lumberjack and Jannick's baseline robotic styles are a proof of where the sport is going. Many, to be professional, tennis...
