    School now locking courts

The difference with HOA controlled courts is that those are private, not public. They exist because of and are maintained by that private community. The issue with public school courts is that public access to those courts is not a high priority on the majority of people's lists.

    School now locking courts

I don't disagree with what your saying and I recognize the concern/issues. My post was specific to the fact that my local courts post signage that state specific conditions under which the public is allowed to use the courts. If the intent is to restrict public access altogether when the two...

Quick match. GT wins against Louisville: 4-2. The Cards still have Clemson, Notre Dame and BC ahead. While those wins wouldn't give them a rankings boost, wins definitely help hold your ranking position versus losses against lower ranked teams.

ATP Specs at 2024 US Men's Clay Court Championships

Wow. All over the place in terms of tensions without any obvious commonalities. I don't think I've every played natural gut in the 40s. Some players playing polys in the upper 50s and beyond.

    School now locking courts

I recently ran in somewhat of this situation at my local public middle school courts. The courts have two gates that allow access and when I walked up to the one I normally enter, it was padlocked. Thankfully, the second gate which was only about 20 feet away was "unlocked" but it too had a...

Those 4-3 decisions are what's plagued them over the years. Biagiotti isn't looking like the player I saw this past Fall. He's been playing timid, tight and dare I say "safe" in the matches I've seen him play this Spring. GT then follows up the FSU match with a 4-1 win over Miami. While...

Debate: Ben Shelton should look for another coach. Yes or no? Why?

College coaches don't operate in a vacuum. While they have the final say in what happens with a program or a player, a good coach listens to his/her assistants, trainers, A.D.s, sports pyschs, players, etc. I doubt that Bryan is the only voice contributing to Ben's development even now though...

Debate: Ben Shelton should look for another coach. Yes or no? Why?

Bryan Shelton's track record as a high level coach goes back beyond his Florida days actually. He's the only collegiate coach to have won NCAA team championships in both men's and women's programs -- Georgia Tech 2007 (W), Florida 2021 (M). He, then, coached NCAA singles champions in the...

Is 54 lbs Too Tight for Natural Gut?

~28 kg /62 lbs is my go-to tension for a full gut job. In a hybrid, I'm usually at ~26 kg/58 lbs. So personally...54 is not tight enough.

Well...that's $30 Aus for a HALF set. By the time you smug.......ahem.....imported it you'd be paying more than simply buying here in the U.S. LOL!!!

    Ten point tiebreaker in college

It's been no-ad scoring, singles and doubles, for at least 8 years as I far as I can recall. And yes...they really are trying to shorten matches that much.

I'd wear the women's color as well. I'm a guy but I have zero issues with that color combination.

So, I'm not really versed on the math and rules that go into collegiate tennis rankings, but in the Chopra (GT) vs. Abderrahman (Clemson) match , Abderrahman abandoned the match with Chopra serving for the match with a match point in hand. I was watching online and as Chopra stepped up to the...

Correct. I took Bresky's comment about them not winning the dead rubbers as his belief that they (Wake) shouldn't have lost any of those matches either, which is why I see it as a backhanded compliment. Wake won that match 4-0, so effectively GT was never really in the hunt there though a 4-3...

I think it was somewhere earlier in this thread that I mentioned GT needed to come out on the winning end of more 4-3 exchanges. Bresky's comment after the match seems to be a bit of a backhanded compliment to GT in him saying that it was disappointing to not get any wins in the dead rubber...

The gap between Kim and Jin wasn't that big it seems. They were separated by one ITF ranking position at 42 and 43 with Jin being the higher ranked of the two. I wonder if the decision to play Kim above Jin was based on perceived potential.

Yes. UGA is on a 5 match losing streaking. Alabama's had a little bit of an up and down season to date but has a winning record going into their conference slate of matches and is currently ranked 21. UGA needs this one.

I doubt he's coming. There's a post on his Instagram page of him winning a $25K tournament just two weeks ago. If he's having some success in the pro ranks, it's unlikely that he's join a college team.

I figured someone was going to bring that up. A 6-4, 6-3 loss is not what I'd call being destroyed. It's also my understanding that Chopra was up 4-1 in the first set. So a mental breakdown more than anything it seems. The match against UGA isn't just physical but mental for the GT tennis...

Yeah..I can only speak to the players I get to see and have seen personally on a regular basis. Martin, Chopra and McDaniel are all positively "different" than last year for GT. The switch of moving McDaniel to 3 has also been a strategic benefit to GT as well. All 3 are playing at a level...

Chopra's deceptive. He's elevated his style of game and has added some offense to complement his counter-punching style. He's an opportunist on the court and this version of who he is now is going to challenge lots of players that can't sustain a winning offense.

Initially, I thought it would but Brancatelli was inconsistent in his appearances before the injury. Had he been winning consistently, I would have answered your question with a definitive "Yes." In contrast, Sachdev has really solidified his play. I watched his match against UNCW and though...

    Define a good college coach

I saw this in a recent college women's doubles match. The assistant came out of what I'd say is 98% of the the points (win or lose) and by the hand gestures I could tell it was more than just encouragement. I could tell the players were flustered and it just annoyed me. For me, a good coach...

And truthfully, I'm not even a dawg but I doubt I'll ever be down on this team. Cyrus is a fighter. I watched him dismantle Jeremy Jin's offense in the fall. It was impressive to watch him battle. He plays with a lot of heart. Niels has huge upside. Once he grows into his game, he'll be...

Well..someone is going to pay him good money to turn his podcast into a tv show. I don't see that as incentive to return to the court. He's fallen off of the ATP computer in terms of ranking at this point. So yeah...he's effectively retired at this point and I don't see him coming back.

Doubles opponent hugging the net and complaining about getting hit

Whether it was a slice or not, you have the right to send the next shot back however you see fit. Not your problem that he's so close to the net that it gives him no time to react. If it's unintentional (even it was intentional once), I'd say move on.
