TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports) Black Knight / Ghostwire Hybrid Reviews

Can’t tell you how many girls I have worked with on the challenger circuit that do just that. Right off the stringer a number of them don’t care for it regardless of the string.

    Modern alternative to Wilson Six.One 95 18X20? Blade's and VCORE's aren't making the cut.

The 2017 re-issue 6.1 18x20 is excellent. Have 3 of them. It still hits the best driving slice backhand of any frame I’ve hit with over the years. The H22 16x19 is just more user friendly.

Lay it on a towel. Stand on it with one foot, flip it over, stand on it.

Poly strings seem to be only great for 3 hours.

Have been using Tier One/ Tru Pro Tour Status and Black Knight for the last 4yrs. Tour Status is good for a few hours of match play but can practice with it about 6hrs. Black Knight doesn’t break in for a few hours then can practice with it 8-10hrs.

Poly strings seem to be only great for 3 hours.

When we played with synthetic gut would go through a few frames a match. Poly lasting an entire match is pretty good. Spend more money on tennis balls than strings. See girls on the challenger circuit play a few matches with the same frame.

Poly strings seem to be only great for 3 hours.

I can play a match with the same frame with full poly. Cost is only about $3.75 per frame. 3hrs is all I need.

    Nishikori Switches to Element

That set up is pre stretched 10% so it is more solid than you would think. Nishikori is looking like he is ready for the Senior Tour.

Thanks! For sure, it’s about 3hrs break in full bed with BK.

Played with BK full bed a couple of reels and after switching to Tour Status it is definitely much better touch around the net, more power off the ground and serve. Have a reel of BK still and going to cross with GW. BK full bed is excellent but definitely muted. There is a break in period for...

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

Playing with the Blade Pro 16x19 V7’s since they came out. String them at 47lbs with Black Knight 1.25 and Tour Status 1.25. No need for me to look for other frames or strings. Plays as well as anything I’ve ever used. If something is off it’s not the racquet or string set up. Have 5 with...

    Gauge and tension (for poly)

String at the same tension to see what the benefits are with the two different guages. Normally for me the thinner guage provides more power and spin which was why I would go to it in the first place. If too much power go up on the tension.

Dallas Open String Choice and Tensions

At 5.0 tennis I’m at 47 with full poly Tour Status 1.25. Only keep the strings in my racquet for a few hours. Like the hybrid with syn gut or multi in the cross. Easy on the arm but loses tension before I can finish a set.

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

Have 5 Blade Pro V7’s 16x19. Static Weight Unstrung: Wilson Leather grips and Pro Overgrips 318 318 318 322 326 Ended up practicing and playing with the 322 and 326. Coming from the RF97 these two just felt right. Save the 318’s for later, can weight them up. The two heavier frames I bought...

The low tension is fun to hit with but playing matches I start spraying balls, missing returns and hitting serves long. Played from 35-60 over the years and the magic happens for me with the Tier One Strings from 47-49 lbs depending on the conditions. Tour Status 1.25 and Black Knight 1.25 at 47...

Do polyester strings really contribute to tennis elbow?

It all plays a factor. Djokovic ended up with TE and he has some of the most sound technique in the world. Natural gut mains and more weight on the frame in 2012 helped his situation after recovery but has still had issues along the way. I can hit with certain frames, strings at certain...

Do polyester strings really contribute to tennis elbow?

More flexible racquet strung at lower tensions will help avoid TE. Once you have it it’s a process of months to get it right again. Have to make some adjustment with the frame and string to make it easier on the arm. Only time I’ve gotten TE in 48 yrs of competitive tennis was with a stiff frame...

    Wilson H22 Users Club

Not sure, only have Pro Lab and H22 frames.should be able to look up the specs on the standard Blade. There can be such a variation in specs from the factory that frames have to be measured individually.

    Wilson H22 Users Club

Wilson Blade Pro V7 or V8 are easier options to H22. Same lay up but a bit stiffer than the H22. Easier power and all around more user friendly. If you have an actual H22 will buy it.

    Low Tension Club under 40lbs

I’ve settled at 47lbs in the Wilson Blade Pro 16x19 H22. It’s been interesting to watch the trend over the last couple of years since this thread began. Saw the tensions for the players at the US Open this year and remarkable how many play in the 40’s now. I got to 47 through experimenting all...

TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports)

Stringing BK at 47lbs in a Blade Pro 16x19 H22. The lower tension seems to limit the harshness that first hour or so. If I go up a few lbs it’s fairly stiff for that first hour. Using Tour Status 1.25 now in a Head Prestige MP L (331g) strung at 51lbs. It’s the same with BK in this frame. Just...

TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports)

Black Knight and Tour Status are much easier on the arm than the strings mentioned and the tension maintenance is far superior. Stability throughout the string bed life is why we went with Tier one products years ago. We generally play 6-8 hrs before we break or cut the strings out of a frame...
