    Connors vs Wilander?

Equipment….connors wasn’t playing with his T2000…..and 2 of their 3 matches in 1984 were in Sweden, there’s a couple of reasons for you

    Connors vs Wilander?

Sure, 1984 Connors was equal to 1974 Connors LOL

    Connors vs Wilander?

No need to quote my post which was about AGE, when your post was about relative rankings……

    Kyrgios' best match

People forget the first time he played Nadal on clay, quarters in Rome perhaps? All I remember is Kyrgios was up a set…..

    Kyrgios' best match

I am going to say that 2019 Acapulco run over Stan, Nadal, Isner and then the final against Zverev……made zverev look very ordinary so I will say the final there was his best match……or his win over Fedex in Madrid in 2015!

    People say…

Points free so irrelevant to the rankings, that’s all….poor Charlie isn’t a grass court player yet, let’s hope he never becomes one…..and oh, I just remembered, the Joker didn’t play the AO last year……but he did win Astana where Alcaraz lost early……advantage Joker!

    People say…

Points free tournament, not particularly relevant……you should have mentioned AO22….Very few tournaments they were both in and one of them won: AO, MADRID, Wimbledon……any others?

    People say…

I am pretty sure I stated facts……Joker has what, 2000+1500+1000 points from 3 tournaments where Alcaraz was missing…..they played last year, and the kid won, so that doesn’t augur well for the Joker going forward.

    People say…

I saw them both play medvedev this year…..that was enough evidence for me.

    People say…

People have been saying that the Joker is the real number 1 because he has been hobbled in collecting all the points he could possibly amass…..but maybe it’s the other way around, and the big titles he has won have been because Alcaraz was absent: Rome, YEC, Aussie Open……so the mouse has played...

    Tsitsipas the First?

Will Tsitsipas become the first player to beat all of the Big 3 at the one slam venue? He has beaten Roger at the AO; he has beaten Nadal at the AO; if he beats the joker I think he becomes the first man to beat all 3 at the one slam…..Murray never did it, Tsonga never did it, Stan never did it...

    Youngest Ever World No. 1?

I wish they would do rankings like that now….just name who you think is a better player, damn the results. I like that. Brad Gilbert made much the same comments around 1991, saying that if everyone is on, Becker is the best player in the world, and no one denied it…..so yeah, we can all have our...

Is the forehand the only thing that made Court better than King

3-2 to Court at Wimbledon….. Take away all of Court’s Aussie Opens and she still has more slams than BJK… Funny thing is I am a BJK fan, such a great volleyer.

Is the forehand the only thing that made Court better than King

I assume it’s a typo about the 1971 Wimbledon and you meant 1970
  16. J

Is the forehand the only thing that made Court better than King

US opens 67, 71 and 74 were won by BJK……Court was not in any of them, and considering she was defending champion in 71 and 74 to me they are hollow US open titles for BJK Wimbledons 67 and 72 were won by BJK, Court was absent in both…..a touch hollow for me 1972 French for BJK, Court not...

Is the forehand the only thing that made Court better than King

As an aside, BJK won 12 slams …. But only 6 slams when Court was in the field….that tells me a lot…..the original vulture….

Australian tennis clothing in the US

Certainly in the 50s, 60s and 70s, being Australian was a byword for being great at tennis…..so using a kangaroo as an emblem and associating your brand with Australia , the country that dominated tennis, was a smart business move…..

    Youngest Ever World No. 1?

Sounds like Trabert was number 1

    Who is best junkballer??

I thought that at the time as well, but watching the 1978 Masters final against Ashe, I was SHOCKED at how hard McEnroe was hitting his forehand returns and passing shots…..with wood he was more impressive than with graphite

    Youngest Ever World No. 1?

That 6-0 H2H is great….a bit like FedEx’s 4-0 H2H with Nadal in 2017…. As for the Davis Cup match, Hoad winning 7-5 in the 5th set in a stadium that was all Aussies with such a huge hometown advantage, to me, shows that Trabert was the genuine number 1….if it had been played in the US, very...

    Youngest Ever World No. 1?

I know nothing of that, I can’t dispute it…..but at Wimbledon 1953, Rosewall was the number 1 seed, and Hoad the number 6 seed…..then at the US Championships, Rosewall was the number 1 foreign seed and Hoad the number 2…..so for Hoad to end up number 1 for the year doesn’t make sense to me...
  23. J

    Youngest Ever World No. 1?

Rosewall won the Aussie and the French in 1953, and he and Hoad were born in November 1934…..considering Hoad didn’t win Wimbledon or the US in 1953 I have no idea how Hoad is number 1 for the year…..

The H2H tiebreaker in round robin makes no sense

Let’s see…..Fritz could have won 60 60 in two matches, loses to Ruud 67 60 67 …..and Ruud wins a match 76 76 and loses 06 06…..Fritz could win 5 sets 6-0 and lose two breakers, while Ruud loses to someone else and Ruud tops the group? Yeah, right…..bye bye
  25. J

Why do so few tennis pros have a one handed backhand?

It’s all to do with the bounce on the court…..on a low bouncing court, a one hander is the better choice as it is more versatile, you can chip, slice, approach, drive with more topspin ….but there is no such thing as a low bouncing court these days so the two hander is advantageous

The H2H tiebreaker in round robin makes no sense

How idiotic is this? Rudd and Fritz finish the round robin with 2 wins each and a loss…..Fritz has a 5-3 record in sets and Ruud had a 4-3 in sets….Fritz should be top of the group, right? But this idiotic system has ‘in case of a tied record, the H2H overcomes everything’ so since Ruud beat...

    Did Agnieszka Radwanska underachieve?

She also won Shot of the Year 5 years in a row……so you really believe she hit the shot of the year 5 years in a row? All it means is that the Poles vote online……and then the Romanians responded: Halep, 3 years in a row Fan Favorite and twice in 4 years Shot of the Year…..then the Poles struck...
