What tennis racquet brand do you prefer?

HEAD by a country mile. QC may not be the best, but PT57s + TGKs, and amongst stock frames, the incredibly awesome Liquidmetal Radical that they thankfully haven't discontinued, all combine to make them my favorite brand. Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Sale Racquet Recommendation

Don't get me wrong, I love my PT57Es. I'm just wondering what the best racquet for under $100 is, so I can buy it and try it out, maybe pull it out of the bag from time to time. Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Sale Racquet Recommendation

K Pro Tour is only in 4 5/8, I think; I use a 4 3/8 or a 4 1/2. Thanks though. Didn't even notice the MG Rad was on sale, thanks for pointing that out film1. Cheers, Greek Goliath

What's not to like about Vantage frames?

Vantage frames are really nice sticks, but I like feeding my racquet collection instead  Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Sale Racquet Recommendation

Hi all, My friend is really getting into tennis, and he wants to upgrade to a better racquet than his current Walmart recommendation. However, he likes my Microgel Extreme Pro, so he's willing to trade me $100 for it. I was thinking of spending it on a sale racquet. It's been a while since I've...

Review: HEAD Liquidmetal Radical Midplus- CAP Grommets

Sorry about not responding to this thread; I was on vacation for a couple of weeks. My Radicals were almost exactly on spec (for once). The weight was a little light, by two or three grams I think, and it was .25pts more HL. Hope this helps. Cheers, Greek Goliath

James Blake has THREE racquets left!

Interesting thought. So James's frames are older graphites? The Hotmelts? Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Racquet "Feel"

I think the surface speed, whether it has cracks, e.g., and bounce affect feel, but not by as much as strings, tension, etc. You should get used to the outdoors soon. Cheers, Greek Goliath

Review: HEAD Liquidmetal Radical Midplus- CAP Grommets

Hi all. I know that the Liquidmetal Radical is an old frame. However, as it is still available, and cheap as well, I thought I would do a review of the setup that I had. I removed the stock pallet, replaced it with a TK82S (more boxy, Wilson-shaped) pallet, put a touch of lead at 3&9, used the...

Just found a way to serve that works wonders for me, Will it be good in the long run?

No offense, but you're robbing yourself, and your coach isn't exactly one I would want to go to if he suggested that you hit around eye height. This is of course what I understand without seeing a video. Your arm would be so cramped I have no idea how you get any power around there! Cheers...

Just found a way to serve that works wonders for me, Will it be good in the long run?

You mean you hit the ball at eye height? No no no no no no no! Or do you mean that you toss the ball at eye height? That's fine, I believe. Cheers, Greek Goliath

Your favorite midplus 16x19 thin beamed player's frame?

Yeah, the C10... so good. Now I need to whip one out for nostalgia's sake. Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Does Novak use a PJ?

You win! Novak is using a PJ of a HEAD Youtek Speed Midplus, but the actual racquet is different. I believe it's a Liquidmetal Radical but am unsure (think it's still a HEAD racquet though). Cheers, Greek Goliath

An interesting thing about Head frames

Both of them used wooden racquets, right? So they wouldn't be relevant to the topic at hand, which I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) is referring to graphite/composite frames. So consider around mid-1980s to present (the decline of serve and volley accelerating in the 1990s). Cheers...

An interesting thing about Head frames

Ivo Karlovic used to be with HEAD, and Ivan Navarro (sp?) is a HEAD-sponsored serve and volleyer (both contemporary), who played Taylor Dent in the epic US Open match in 2009. Cheers, Greek Goliath

    What is your grip setup?

Nope. My hand doesn't sweat much, so I guess that helps. I find the leather to be really tacky. Cheers, Greek Goliath

    Djokovic to Sergio Tacchini

I don't know; flames are something that I see on every young punk's car. Personally, I'm more of a "less-is-more" kind of guy- I like stripes, two-tones, even solid colors, and the like. Cheers, Greek Goliath

Wait... so the PT57F is an actual racquet? Or is this just a joke? Cheers, Greek Goliath

    pt57a & pt57e specs

That's interesting. For me, the flex of both the PT57E and PT57A felt uniform throughout- I couldn't distinguish a specific area of flex. The E was just a tad stiffer, but still quite soft and "plush", IMO. Cheers, Greek Goliath

Doubt he could get that many  We'll see what I can get, and what I don't need, I will resell, and probably won't ask for much more than what I paid for (I'm too darn nice :( ) Cheers, Greek Goliath
