    Stringing Advice Angel K7 Red

Update in case anyone strings one in the future.... Did the second one 1 piece ATW and it worked well. Tied the bottom crosses off at 6, the tie off at 11 just gives you no room to tighten the knot. Worse than the APD in that regard! Definitely the way to go in the future.

    Stringing Advice Angel K7 Red

Thanks. What are your thoughts on bottom up stringing? I have never done that on any racket just out of precaution.

    Stringing Advice Angel K7 Red

Good Day TT. String up a couple Angel K7 Reds today and wanted a second opinion. They came to me strung 1 piece, but I decided to do the first one 2 piece. However I do not like the tie off distance and the blocked holes at the bottom. Considered yonex loop on the mains but after seeing the...

What could the USTA do to increase participation...

LOL yes, what people post on this board is gospel!

What could the USTA do to increase participation...

Glad that you know my local section (and players) better than I do. ;) If you aren't already working for the USTA you should apply. You can sit and watch all the players leave and play tennis elsewhere along with our section coordinator. Wait a minute, are you my section coordinator...

    ***Prince Stringers User Club***

Add me to the 'Club'. Prince 5000 - home Went from Klippermate to this, and have never regretted it! Low volume stringer, as I only do 75-100 a year typically. Not aggressive about new business, but enjoy what comes my way.

What could the USTA do to increase participation...

2 key items are keeping league numbers low in my area. Sandbaggers and lack of captains: Captains are a key ingredient to drive participation. So doing more to assist the captains is one of the first keys. Captains should not pay league fees Captain 4 teams a year and get a year membership...

    JC & Tennis Machines

I would like to add my name to this list! I have only had 1 experience with JC, as I was having an error on start up. He told me how to get into programming mode, the adjustment to make, the acceptable range and the very small range he found worked the best. I asked what part might be the...

Entry level machine or go for Stringway (opinions needed)

There is no easy answer to that. :) I am not familiar at all with the quality of Penta, but assuming its a decent brand, hands down the Penta. Ultimately it comes down to clamps, tensioning mechanism and mounting system (in that order for me). To me the fixed clamps are better on the...

Entry level machine or go for Stringway (opinions needed)

Stringway has a following on here, but for the $ I would go Penta. Heck for the difference you could come close to the Penta with a Wise. I see some shops have options with the Penta fitted with a Wise right out of the gate. Would not be a terrible option to start. Generalizing here since I...

    Machine advice

I feel for you because $1000 is one of the worst budgets ever! lol. I say that because of the choices you have to make. IE if you could wait and go to 1500 you could get a Gamma Progression ELS (electronic fixed clamp table top model). Or you could end up paying 700 for a fixed clamp drop...

    Machine advice

I started with the Klippermate a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) and it was a good machine for my experience level (IE very little experience). Doing that over again, I think I would be more where you are at with Fixed Clamps and racheting would be a must as well. What about the Gamma...

Is there any way to apply accurate tension on the first 2 mains with only starting clamps & flying clamps on a no clamp stringing machines?

Yulitle has a video online: Yulitle Irvin also has a video: Irvin Starting pin from Klippermate also worked well but think starting clamp methods are better.

Tommy Robredo with a Wilson - US Open 2018

They are both predominately black, but the biggest difference if the Blades have the green accent color on the sides of the hoop and the Ultra Tours have blue accent color.

    Stringing @ Del Ray

    Thanks for the replies! :)

    Stringing @ Del Ray

I will be attending the ATP tournament at Del Ray during the day session on Friday. Never been before and looking forward to it. Does anyone know where the stringing room is at Del Ray? Wondered if anyone on here strings at that tourney? @drakulie maybe?

    Sergetti Stringing - WOW!

I used @Irvin spreadsheet (thanks @diredesire for hosting it) for the first time and have to say I liked the results. I restring about 1x a month and am not a string breaker. So for me strings are about initial comfort and then how they play in over the coarse of 4 weeks. Typically they feel...

    Let's Discuss - Wilson Ultra XP 125

Strung up one of these today! It really was not too bad. I had the stringing instructions from Wilson and the only issue was around a typo in the instructions. Jim E has the correct ones above, but I used the one from Wilson the customer brought me. Lesson learned! Listen to @jim e The...

Which change in the scoring system would you like to see?

I appreciate how hard the slams are to win because of all the matches but I think it is just too long for TV. And Tennis needs TV money to survive. I would like to see all matches go to college rules to speed up play. Play the lets No Ad scoring TBs in all sets I would also like to see...

    Help identifying a Wilson racket

Pretty sure that is it. Thanks guys!! I have never seen that stick before. Always cool to see something new.

    Help identifying a Wilson racket

I played in a tournament this weekend and was watching some of the other matches and saw a very strong 4.5 player using a Wilson racket I had not seen before. Sorry no pics. But it was mostly silver, with some yellow at 3,9 and maybe same at the bridge. Don't recall ever seeing a racket...

Best Practice for rotating 4 rackets?

I typically only have 2 rackets of the same Brand and model at one time. I am not a frequent string breaker and 2 rackets more than serve my purposes. Recently I went back to a racket I used in the past and after playing with it for a month I decided I REALLY like it. So I purchased 2 more...

New Pro Kennex for Andreas Seppi

When are these going to be available on TW???

    Head Instinct MP instability

As stated above the Pro Kennex rackets are pretty sweet and might actually be a middle of the ground between the Instinct and the Prestige. Preferred the Qi5x myself when I used ProKennex. Following a shoulder injury (unrelated to tennis) I have not been able to get my self healthy long enough...

Tennis PLAYERS ONLY -- NOT Stringers !!

I string for a few of the locals around here but none of them like the string I use for personal use. I use a hybrid and keep a single reel of each on hand. I order in advance of running out, sometimes pretty accurately and other times way too early. :) Not a chronic string breaker so its...

    Raven Klaasen real racket?

Watching the mens doubles from Miami today and noticed Raven Klaasen playing with an Head XT Instinct MP paint job. Did not see any lead in the hoop so I am assuming this is a paint job. Anyone know what racket he is actually playing with? Strings and tension as well?

    HEAD Penn Official

Hello @HEAD Penn Official I emailed customer server @Head but did not really get anywhere and thought perhaps you could assist. I was playing with the Graphene Instinct XT MP. Very nice stick but really on the top side of my comfort level for stiffness. My best friend and I have played the...

    String straightening tool

Pete Sampras used to use a tool between points in matches that resembles what you describe. I thought it was called a String A Ling or something like that but I cannot find any info on anything on it on the internet. Perhaps someone here remembers better?

Head Graphene Instinct MP - 1 piece stringing?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I attempted it once before posting and ended up having to cut it all out. I was able to use Irvin's first recommendation and that worked out quite well and easy. Other methods in this thread will work as well and I will experiment with them as I go. It's my...
