    Stringmaster Deluxe with Wise

What is the benefit of using this gripper/diablo set-up? I just mounted one to a gamma 6004 frankinbuild and, other than the gripper jaws and the diablo being at a slight angle, I see no real benefit, especially when I have to move my table too far above the tensioner for my liking. The diablo...

    Buy or not?

Personally, I'd do my best to talk them down a couple hundred and prepare yourself for the electronics going out. When the tensioner does go out, rip it off the machine and slap a Wise on it. Throw down-press CB's on it and shazam.......quality rig for about 2k

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

I've found if the towers are about a half inch from all the way back, (I use the flathead screws that hold the mounting plate to the table as a gauge) will accommodate more than 90% of the racquets I string. And if you have to move the towers, without the mod I did, it might take a minute to...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

Lol.... Truthfully, that was one of the reasons I sold my Star 5. I live about 8 miles away from Babolat North America. A couple years before I sold it I took it down to Babolat and we put new pads underneath the clamp bases. Dude told me at the time he was seeing a lot of the Sensor and Star 5...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

Disingenuous? It is man.... I've strung on a Baiardo, Baiardo L, a prince machine, a Sensor and owned a Star 5. The table, towers and CB's come from the same Factory an the Baiardo. Incidentally, the towers have articulate arms, meaning 1 knob moves both arms.

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

I get it. Seriously though, the tower thing isn't that big an issue. At the time, the ghost was over a $1000 more than I paid AND didn't have DP clamp bases. Knowing what I know now, I never would have made the purchase. The rig that may very well be my go to and forever machine is my Gamma 6004...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

I own a Star 5 for about 15 years. I was really bummed when my wrist started swelling up and being adversely affected by the twist action clamp bases. It got to where I could only string about 4 or 5 frames before I had to stop. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed when I sold it. Weaving...

No problem man. I guess what I neglected to say is: "best value on the market for a home-based stringer"

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

OK..... I didn't post this for stringers to give reasons NOT to purchase the 700, or how much better their purchase was compared to mine. I purchased this machine for one reason, and one reason only; downpress clamp bases (I've explained why before) .......AND at the time, the ghost was more the...

Nope, I didn't. He knows how I feel about it. I just stumbled across the fix actually. I tore the table apart cuz that's what I do, and noticed it and dealt with it. I seriously think those Towers were designed to have a front glide piece, but dude zigged when he should have zagged and that...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

Lol.... possibly. It looks like what happened is, during Manufacturing somebody had a three Martini lunch and was slightly off when they drilled the front hole for the "slide guide". As I mentioned, it really wasn't that big a deal but I get off on building machines and working on them. I've...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

I am, just not for an extended period of time. Also, I could string 3 or 4 frames before the twist action CB's on the Star would start affecting my wrists. Weaving X's didn't seem to be an issue. The downpress CB's are a game changer for me. I also added a pair to a gamma 6004 rig a have

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

It seriously isn't that big a deal, which I mentioned in the OP. That's really no different than having a separate knob for each arm and a third knob for the 6/12 load spreader. And I didn't pay nearly $3,700. This machine is the absolute best value on the market right now IMHO for a home based...

    Tourna 700-ES hacks & mods

As some of you may know, I recently got rid of a Babolat Star 5 I owned for about 15 years, and purchased a Tourna 700-ES. I tried real hard to love this rig, but a couple things were tough to get past, so I didn't. There was a slight lateral movement (side to side) in the mounting towers, that...

alpha revo clamps are not that smooth enough...

I was having issues with my Tourna 700-ES clamp bases sticking. I adjusted and readjusted the down press clamp bases, cleaned and recleaned and they would still stick. Kevin @ Unique suggested I clean everything with WD-40. I thought he was nuts. Like it's been said: "it's easy enough to clean...

    I got a Baiardo L yay!

I'm a home based stringer. I used to string btwn 30 & 40 racquets a week during league season, and owned a Star 5 for 15yrs. My stringing business has taken a pretty severe hit due to various reasons, and I'm reinventing it. One of the services I plan on providing is mobile stringing. I...

Tourna 700-ES: Is it a workhorse?

Personally, I've come full circle w/my 700. I owned a Star 5 for about 15 years and just recently got rid of it after a pretty severe rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. The twist action clamp bases killed my wrists. I sold the Star and purchased a 700, mainly for the downpress clamp bases. I was a...

    Wise 2086

Okay so... I currently own a Wise v14. This is the 3rd or 4th 2086 I've owned over the years. I have a small desk lamp on a gooseneck that I put on the corner of the table I have the Wise mounted to. Works really well. I got halfway through a racquet and the carriage wouldn't return. I'll hit...

Tourna 700-ES: Is it a workhorse?

I can only assume so. The 700 is the only professional machine TW sell's so I'm thinking it only stands to reason, that is the cover designed for the 700. I could be wrong! I purchased a 700 of a few months ago and am told the covers will be in after the first of the year

Tourna 700-ES: Is it a workhorse?

There is a specific cover for the 700. You can order one from Tennis Warehouse but I'm told unique won't have any until after the first of the year.
