    Prestige Graphene Touch options

I stared with Ashaway Monogut ZX Pro at 56 and that was way too tight. So, next move was natural gut at 53 and voila everything came to life. I'm now on my second set of 16 gauge Babolat VS Black which I can't recommend more highly. It lasts twice as long as NRG2 or Biphase for that matter and...

    Prestige Graphene Touch options

Thanks, Bobble. I think you've nailed the differences/tradeoffs between the two frames. I may just end up demoing the Pro to compare it to my Mid. FYI, I've played exclusively with multifilament and natural gut and it works for well...at least for my game (lefty counterpuncher 4.5).

    Prestige Graphene Touch options

Thanks. I've played with both the VCORE Pro 330g and 310g. I find they do play similarly to the Prestige Touch Mid. I'll be curious to hear any further impressions you have of the Prestige Pro. The Mid does not need extra weight in my opinion but is slightly heavier than the Pro.

    Prestige Graphene Touch options

I've been playing with the Mid for three months quite happily. I could, however, use a little more forgiveness on volleys and return of serve. I never demoed either the Midplus or Pro versions of the Prestige Graphene Touch series and was hoping someone could compare? For reference, I'm a 4.5...

VCore 95 vs. Prestige Touch Mid

Thanks for the quick response! I found exactly the same thing on my topspin OBH. The VCore was just a little quicker through the hitting zone. I'm planning on purchasing the 95 and just do a longer time comparison. I can easily see using both frames; each are super high quality. I just like that...

VCore 95 vs. Prestige Touch Mid

I've seen a few scattered posts from those who've hit with both frames. I own the Prestige Touch Mid and really like it: as others have mentioned it's got control, plow through, and enough of that old school feel to make it a high quality frame. I have also demoed the VCore 95 twice and liked it...

    Prestige Touch Mid setup

Looking for feedback from others using this frame. I demoed with a Head hybrid (poly mains/multi crosses at medium tension) which felt pretty good which is why I purchased the racquet. I had mine strung with Monogut ZX Pro at 56. This setup feels a bit stiff to me, and am thinking about sticking...

    EZONE 98 VS EZONE 100

That's what I discovered as well. I'm now experimenting with strings/tension on the 100. I really like it with VS Team although slightly too powerful at 55lbs. Going to try it at 60. Played with Biphase at 55 and the power is about right.

    EZONE 98 VS EZONE 100

I have played with both and I'm currently using the 100. Previously strung with VS Team which felt great but had just a tad too much power for me to control at times. Just restrung with Tecnifibre Biphase 17 which lowered the power but gave up a slight bit of feel. I'm thinking about trying the...

    Adjusting from L3 to L2

Meaning, the volley is the place where I think there will be the biggest adjustment in making the change to the smaller grip.

    Adjusting from L3 to L2

I've played briefly with L2 in the past and felt the main issue was on the volley. I recently switched to a 2HBH which is what has got me thinking about the smaller grip.

    Adjusting from L3 to L2

Several friends telling me they had made the switch and felt they could get a wider variety of grip positions.

    Adjusting from L3 to L2

I'm just about to downsize my grip after 30 years with a 3/8 grip size. Anybody care to share their experiences or have any tips. I've been listening to people who've made the switch but it still fills small in my hand despite a medium thick overgrip.

EZONE 100: How does it compare to EZONE 98?

Long time Yonex user. Bought and sold the new EZONE 98. I actually preferred it to the DR98 which I know puts me in the minority. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has had a chance to compare both the 98 and 100 versions of the new model. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of control for larger...

    Warm-up pants

I have a pair of 10-year old Adidas warm-up pants that I love. Tore a big hole and now I have to replace. I've tried several pairs and can't find anything I really like. Most have zips that don't go high enough to get off over your tennis shoes. Anyone out there have a pair that's currently in...

    Adidas vs. Nike sizing

Long time Barricade wearer. Always happy with size 9.5. Sounds like I might have to size up for the Cage 3. Anyone make the switch and have feedback? I have a narrow foot. Thanks.

    Ultra 97

Thanks. I was referring to the early version (Ultra 97) which is now being discounted because of the new Tour version with Countervail. The one I hit with was about a year old and I thought it was stable and had a consistent string bed. The one I hit with was strung with a copoly but I would...

    Ultra 97

I hit briefly with a friend's Wilson Ultra 97 over the weekend, and was surprised at how good it felt. Can't find too many comments on the frame and am curious if anyone can weigh in, especially those how have also played with the Blace CV 16x19 and DR 98. Is the Ultra 97 a sleeper or is there a...

    Prince CTS Approach 110

I've got a friend who is frustrated that he can't find a suitable replacement. I don't have the actual specs but I believe it's close to 12 ounces strung which is quite heavy for an oversize. I guess he could weight up the the current oversized Warrior but wonder if anyone has another...

    Matching Blades

I'm getting ready to order a couple of Blade 16x19 CV frames. I know that the q/c is kind of all over the map. When ordering is it best to order two that are the lightest or two that are closest to spec?

DR98 weighted up vs. Blade CV 16X19

I've played with head light Yonex frames for many years and just recently I've been hitting with frames like the Blade and Pure Strike which are closer to even balance. The increased power is instantly noticeable. I also think I'm just happier with a slightly higher swingweight and the racquet...

DR98 weighted up vs. Blade CV 16X19

Had another extended hitting session with the Blade 16x19 today and it felt really good. My hitting partner saw a noticeable difference in the amount of spin I was generating. My forehand was also more penetrating than with the unweighted DR98. I weighed the Blade demo and it's 12 oz. even with...

DR98 weighted up vs. Blade CV 16X19

I've been playing with the DR98 for several months (long time Yonex user) and have yet to try lead tape to try and give more stability. In the mean time, I hit with the "new" Blade and was impressed by the stability. The balance is so different from the DR98 that kind of hard to compare. That's...

What to expect if change Yonex DR 98 to Wilson Blade 98 16x19 Countervail (new model)

Hi, I'd like to continue a conversation with you about the three frames you mentioned: DR98, 100, and Blade CV 16x19. I'm currently playing with the DR98 and am pretty satisfied but plan to add a bit of weight at 3&9 to give it a tad more stability. My question is whether I might also want to...

    DR98 vs. Blade CV 16X19

Super helpful and I'm impressed at the efforts you made, Alex G., to tweak the 98L. As far as swing weight do you think purchasing the 16X19 with the most head light balance would necessarily be the lowest swing weight?

    DR98 vs. Blade CV 16X19

A good 2 cents. I will probably try to add a bit of weight to the DR98 to see if I can feel increased stability. And appreciate what you're saying about personal preferences. I've been a long time Yonex guy, but I tried the new Blade and found it incredibly solid. My biggest concern is the head...

    DR98 vs. Blade CV 16X19

Thanks for that. I found the Blade super solid at net which I liked. How are you with the balance? A lot of posters have commented on the nearl even balance of the frame and how that has made for difficulty with the server.

    DR98 vs. Blade CV 16X19

I know they are two very differently balanced racquets but I've demoed both and keep going back and forth. Blade is more stable in stock form but Yonex more maneuverable. I'm a 56 year old 4.5 player playing a combination of doubles and singles. Looking for a very solid volleying stick and...
