    Prince ATS Textreme racquets

totally disagree, I found it an almost perfect power level with good control. I take big cuts and hit fairly hard. But as always different strokes

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Prince ATS Textreme Tour Family

I bot one a few weeks ago and have used it about 12 hrs, thoughts are similar to yours, for me it plays very well with a gut/poly at 51/49

Time to use caffeine for enhancing performance?

Yerba Matte has similar levels of caffeine as coffee but supposed better effects. I started drinking it a few months ago as coffee was negatively affecting me and agree on the "better effects" on my system. Alos offers increased energy levels, give it a try

    Prince Official - Racquets

Just shows how subjective rackets are to each players strokes/styles. I thought the serve was one of the standouts on the ATS 98, swings effortlessly IMO and produces very good pace/spin/placement for me.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Prince ATS Textreme Tour Family

Bot an ATS Tour 98, unstrung specs 306 grams, just a hair under 10 pts HL. I did buy a 4 1/2 and did not like the spongy grip which also measure somewhat large. So I replaced the stock grip with two overgrips and its now just a hair below 4 1/2 and weighs 320 grams strung. I strung it with my go...

    Lead tape thickness and placement

I have recently been using cheap electrical tape on the outside from 10 to to tip to 2, adds about 1.5 grams which is a nice increment to add to test out and is obviously well spaced. It sticks well on most paint jobs and headguards, but on some it does not stick well.

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

been alternating hitting/playing with my Clash 100 and 104 v7. One thing is my shortened (27 3/16) Blade 104 feels a bit less flexy then full length (and still very solid at 10.9 oz) which is normal when shortening frames as racket feels a bit stiffer. So flex feels really nice (not noodly) and...

    Basketball shoes

Totally agree, with the Nike Renew elevates I have I am getting the similar durability as top level tennis shoes I have worn with way better cushioning, good stability and excellent comfort and performance. Got two pairs in the closed at $63 each including shipping!

    Official Wilson Clash thread

always interesting how we differ, I strung the Clash 100 I had bot from you recently with a gut/hybrid at 56/48 and "for me" it played and felt better than the Poly you had strung it with when I bought if from you which I liked fine. Better feel, similar spin, similar power level and I hit...

    Official Wilson Clash thread

I am about your level (weaker 4.5 now because of age lol) but still hit fairly hard, I tried some Firewire boost, then a gut/Poly hybrid with KLIP/Hyper G and I like both but preferred how the gut/hybrid played. Also, I find a good gut/hybrid lasts me far longer than any POLY which becomes much...

    Official Wilson Clash thread

I have read some people say it is not "string sensitive", I totally disagree (for me anyhow) as one need to find the right combo of tension/string type to get the most out of this frame

Yeah, it so comfortable as well, like it for volleys too. Surprisingly solid for 11oz, not much downside that I can find so far

    Official Wilson Clash thread

Yeah, bot one from JoshL a few weeks ago and am liking it more and more, especially so after I strung it up last weekend with a KLip gut 16/Head Hawk 17 hybrid ay 55/48, initially it had Firewire Boost at 51 which was pretty decent but thought control lacked a bit, then tried Kev/ZX which I...

    Basketball shoes

yeah loving my Bball shoes for tennis play. Like both that KD14 and Nike renew elevate 2, KD has a modestly higher top. I am not a toe dragger and i'd say I get perhaps 10-20% less durability than most tennis shoes. However, considering price and comfort the Bball shotes for me are easily the...

Are polarized racquets easier to swing??

Yeah for me I have found that too much weight concentrated at the butt cap and tip area makes timing more difficult, I mishit more and make more errors hence my consistency suffers. Ideally one finds a racket well matched to their swing speed and style of play whether its heavy topspin or more...

Are polarized racquets easier to swing??

For me I have found that too much polarization results in more inconsistency, I may swing faster on some shots but that can create problems as well. There are a LOT of variables that go into this so there are no clear guidelines. I have fairly full strokes but as I age (66) my timing is not what...

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

what surprises me is the TW play testers having a significantly more favorable (83 vs 79) view of the v8 vs v7 version when the rackets appear so similar. I have only played with the V7 so I cannot compare, would like posters who have hit with both to chime in as well.

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

had yet another really good outing with the Blade 104 V7, really finding a groove with it. I strung it with BK/GW at 51 lbs, plays well and comfort is great even with the Poly. FWIW did not like it nearly as much at full stretch - 27.5 inches, at about 27 3/16 now and "for me" that length really...

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

another good singles outing with the Blade 104, played well and the ROS once again was the standout, served well too. seem to suit my game and feels like one big sweetspot

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

I used to have a OHBH topspin that was easily my best shot in previous "decades", however at 66 its more and more difficult to hit with topspin consistently. I do much better with a flat drive (especially on return of serve), for whatever reason the Blade 104 seems to help me out with this shot...

    Wilson Blade 104 v7 deaaammmmmmmm

Picked up a used one cheap as I was looking for a dubs oriented slightly OS frame., flexib;e with thinner beam Actually, I thought my wife would like it but I played with it first it at full length and thought it was pretty nice except OHBH - FH was really good but OHBH wasn't. I have cut down a...

Pro Kennex 7G, ~25 years experience

Do you guys feel that the 7G strings up really tight? I strung it with a gut/poly hybrid at 55/52 and can't believe how tight it feels after a couple weeks at least - feels like 60-62 lbs and I did calibrate my stringer before stringing! I was thinking next string job of going to mid 40's -...

    Paddles with octagonal grips

I have been a racket tinkerer and tennis player for decades and recently started playing pickleball. Hated the pickleball grip size and shape with my first Selkirk cheapy (handle too short as well) my wife bought for us. I had several XTP extender buttcaps lying around and decided to try it on...

    Diary of a Racketaholic

Funny, was about to sell my Euro as well but decided to hit with it today. Had my best hit with it by far today, biggest issue has been the FH, but today I was very consistent with the FH and backhands and volleys for me with it are about as good as I can do. For me this frame serves about...
