Stretching - Dynamic warm-up and static stretching

thanks for this. its some excellent advice. ever since I began doing a dynamic warmup instead of static I stopped pulling random muscles. I don't think it was a coincidence.

    Serve

yeah seriously, your serve will top out pretty quick in terms of how good its going to get wiith a western grip. if you want to make it to any semblance of 4.0 or above, you going to have to develop a solid continental serve.

    my Ginormous swing

bigger swings will be less consistent. there's more that can go wrong and it requires better timing. also, when hitting against pace the big swing will only cause problem - and especialy on the return of serve. for best results, make your swing shorter! focus on it, really attack it, and your...

    Video of my serving

Solid fundamentals, a good core to work with here. i'd recommend keeping that left hand up just a smidge longer, and this should focus your attention on really exploding up into the ball. hitting it at its absolute peak and focusing on more of a brush motion to bring some extra topspin to the...

    Marat Safin "Leg Lift"

yeah its a natural motion. nothing he does deliberately. its just a natural consequence of his good mechanics.

    A lazy left leg...

grab a rope ladder and lay it on the court. look online for some good footwork exercises and learn how to properly explode for your first step. it will radically change your game I guarantee it.

    Forehand swing?

short and compact 1000000 times. it will be way better in the long run and you'll learn to add pace and penetration. a forehand that does not break down is far more valuable than anything else.

    jumpusle strokes?

    Forehand Takeback/Swing Question

I would vote to keep the wrist more rigid during the whole stroke. you want to keep things as simple as possible during the whole stroke. and you can learn to hit with more clearance no matter what your takeback is.

    Decreasing grip size

yeah you can and some pros do it as well (I think Safin did?). but really the truth is that if you just give your stock grip a chance for a week or so you'll get used to it. I guarantee it. 4 1/4 is pretty small so its not like your missing out by keeping your stock grip.

    Losing By Winning!!

dude you need confidence in your game! that comes with practice, but when your on court just remember to trust your strokes and keep hitting out. you'll find a rhythm.
