H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

The atp guy that owned these used to use the H22 in the Burn PJ before he switched to Dunlop. So he’s using a drill pattern that’s close to, if not more, than 10 years old.

H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

Conclusion: The Blade Pro 18x20 grommets do not fit my H22. Mine has an older drill pattern. With that being said, I managed to make them work with some redneck engineering. It's not pretty, but it is functional. The grommets are protecting the string so I don't anticipate any weird off center...

H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

With the Pro Labs Blade Pro, they did not change anything aside from the v3 to v4 cosmetic. The v4 grommets should fit the v3 frame. I have had no issues putting v4 grommets on the v3 18x20. My H22... well, that's another story. Finally broke a string so I'm debating on risking it.

H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

Update: Most of the holes line up pretty well, but but ones on the sides don't seem to quite line up. I've included a quick video below. I've reached out to some of my contacts and the going theory for my frames is that Dunlop got hold of an older Wilson H22 mold/drill pattern and the Blade Pro...

H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

Well, I ordered the grommets. I'll post an update once I compare them. It may be a while before I install them / break strings.

H22 and Blade Pro Grommets Compatible?

I have a pro stock Dunlop frame that is a replica of the H22 18x20 (player switched sponsors, kept the same mold). The grommets are a little chewed up, but still have plenty of life left in them. I just want a cleaner look and to protect the frame. Does anyone know if the 18x20 Blade Pro...

Wilson Pro Labs: Ultra Pro (16x19) Official Thread

I third this. Sent Wilson an email asking if they had a drop date. Worth a shot in the dark. Maybe they just have too many v3 paint jobs still in stock …?

    Let's Talk About YTEX

OP here, I suppose I should provide an update since my initial post 7 years ago. I've pretty much moved away from personally using shaped or twisted strings. My current favorite is Yonex PolyTour Rev which is octagonal, but I don't notice it/it is not dramatic. I was one of the YTEX reps for a...

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

Thanks!! That’s super helpful. Is he a one man shop, or does he employ stringers as well? update: I checked out the website, saw that he has a crew of stringers, and a 4500 sq ft store. Awesome!

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

Yeah, didn’t quite know how to respond to that. It really doesn’t matter. I don’t know most of my current tennis buddies political affiliations as it is —just like I don’t know how much money they make or what their net worth is. As long as they don’t hook me on line calls, or push their...

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

I can live with that. In TX, are the gas station pumps on elevated concrete? That’s the way it is in OK where I have family. It rains so heavy so quickly there that it floods and the water rises 6-12” to the raised concrete, but then drains pretty quick too.

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

Thanks! that’s my hope, too. I currently pay $300 per year to play unlimited at a facility here in NorCal. It is just tennis courts and a pro shop. Usually requires a reservation because so many people play there. Day pass for non members is $5, or $5 per 1.5hr blocks (which they never...

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

thanks for the insight — they have those near the Sacramento River, too. Poles/sticks in the ground with water level markers — if I'm thinking about the right things. when you say flood the road, does that include in through your doorstep too? Or just the road/sidewalks. We’re looking into 2...

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

i inquired to one, “Our Tennis Membership dues are $283 per month and we also have an Initiation Fee which is listed at $1,500 but I can do for $750 through the month of August.” Their facility sounds amazing, but I’ll pass.

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

Yes! The 0% state income tax is also huge. The private clubs look beautiful, but I tend to shy away from facilities that don't show their pricing online. Probably more than I'm willing to spend. If you happen to inquire about membership, please share the details with me :)

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

Yeah, that's what makes TX so appealing. There are a lot of relatively new homes that are incredibly affordable compared to Cali in San Antonio and New Braunfels. The property taxes are higher than Cali, so maybe it ends up being a wash in terms of cost to own, but at least I can afford a 20%...

Possibly Moving to San Antonio, TX -- Advice?

I'm considering moving to San Antonio Q4 2020, or Q1 2021; and planning on visiting in September if it is safe to travel and explore. Tennis is a huge part of my life, and for the most part I can play 5+ days a week year-round here in NorCal (temps ranging from 40's to 100+). Primary motivation...

    USTA NorCal "Facility Use Fee"?

Fair point. And there's no rule that says ANY clubs or organizations have to participate in USTA leagues. They have a sovereign right to run their business as they see fit. Personally I believe its a systemic issue with a given club and they're (the management/directors) blaming league...

    USTA NorCal "Facility Use Fee"?

They could also just form a luxury league with a higher registration fee for these private clubs. Let the members of those clubs pay a premium and all league matches are held against other private club USTA teams AT their private clubs. They would never have to set foot in a public park or...

How much are your USTA fees?

It is supposed to go into effect during 18+ mixed season and 55+ season, I believe. At this point USTA National is about the only chance we have of getting it revoked (in addition to the support of over 2k folks who have signed the petition & the club chains who have publicly issued statements...

How much are your USTA fees?

Thanks for sharing. You're definitely lucky if you get to play in every match, every season, and your average cost per match is around $10-$15. You're right about folks who would have to play indoors, but this is NorCal where we don't need indoor facilities, don't pay for them, and pay a...

    USTA NorCal "Facility Use Fee"?

Same website, but link to the documentation showing a history of failed attempts until they finally had a majority on board, excluded everyone from the meeting who would oppose it, and passed it anyway. Look up the websites for the clubs these supporters are from. These clubs are the exception...

Sign the Petition to Stop NorCal’s “Facility Use Fee”

Exactly. What’s to say the total cost is not $75 the following year, and $100 the next? Furthermore, if it happens in NorCal what's to say it won't be rolled out nationwide at some future point in time?

How much are your USTA fees?

This is a poll in reaction to USTA NorCal’s arbitrary ruling to increase league registration by $25 to $54 from $29 per season due to a “facility use fee” in addition to what members & guests already pay to use courts for league matches. Keep in mind folks, this may affect you down the road...

Help me make a choice -- Heavy frame, or more modern mold?

The Strike is pretty awesome, but I actually feel like I l don’t serve as big. IMO the Yonex serves bigger w/less effort, and is still accurate. You’re totally right regarding outcome. If I lose a match it comes down to decision making/shot selection/thinking (or lack thereof). Thinking out...

Help me make a choice -- Heavy frame, or more modern mold?

I actually have one of these, and the new 97P as well. Stock form it is very plush and easy to use. I just worry about blowing through strings since it’s 100 16x18. Two of my hitting partners have switched to it (one from a PDT, the other from the RF 97). I very well may slap a leather on and...

Help me make a choice -- Heavy frame, or more modern mold?

I actually haven’t tried the gravities. I’ve strung several of them (pros , tours, and MP’s) but am sooo reluctant to add another frame into the mix. I also have not had much success with their head shape, or rackets with a low flex. — why do you think I’ll like them? (Not trying to shoot you...
