Final 8 Davis Cup 2024- Malaga

Why did rafa play this one, why not let someone who was a bit hotter at the time so he can enjoy being in the team a bit more? Seems a bit of a shame to put rafael first if he's still a bit rusty and then go out suddenly?

Wimbledon 2024 Final - [2] Novak Djokovic (SRB) v/s [3] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN)

Very disappointing, not entertaining final. The spectators lost this one. Djokovic only really started trying on the third set.

Wimbledon 2024 Final - [2] Novak Djokovic (SRB) v/s [3] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN)

I think that djokovic is playing it safe with his knee and he may be in some pain from it. Physical injury also affects the mind, quickness, decisions.

Sinner shot speed? Am I assuming wrong?

I'm going by the assumption that Sinners shots are faster on average, than most players, which is why he's able to beat the top opponents. So assuming his shots/ball are indeed faster, then why don't we see more players using the same technique? Or is there some kind of mystery behind how he's...

    Backhand swing question

I'm currently a novice learning the backhand (right hander). A tennis coach told me at my local that a double handed backhand is really a lefthand forehand - in that the left hand is the main driving force while the right hand is there for support. Should I use this as a technique, is it...

    Question about blood taking

I read federer say they take blood samples at least once every tournament?

    Question about blood taking

Hi This isn’t about doping. I’m interested specifically in about the taking and how it’s done. I heard that tennis players have to get their blood tested on every tournament. 1. Is this true? 2. How do they take blood? 3. If they take blood by needle - does this not leave many many scars in...

    Pro players - early training

I saw a video of nadal as a kid and he said he goes to school from 9am to 12. Then 4 to 8 for tennis. 1. Is this normal for Spaniards? 2. I thought school for all kids was 9 to 4 or similar. 3. If nadal was receiving special treatment, was he privileged? 4. It would be interesting to know...

    Community audio/video chats (esp tennis)?

Hi, There's one thing that I find lacking on the internet, and that's a safe and popular and easy to use voice/video chat rooms / communities. My local neighbourhood is terrible for my social life, so I need a bit of social. I'm aware there's twitter spaces and discord where there's selective...

2022 US Open QF: [23] Nick Kyrgios vs. [17] Karen Khachanov

I’m not seeing many outline any injury. I don’t personally believe he wouldn’t be physically moving poorly just because of lack of mental ability. I suggest with his lack of prior training as well as rare choice to play doubles, his body wasn’t able to keep up. This then affected mentality...

So people here criticising the one of what, one of 100s of guys playing singles and doubles. He’s not super man. I admit he shouldn’t have played doubles but that doesn’t discount him from not giving a lot in total.

    Wimbledon (bit if a washout..)

Probably discussed before but.. As a casual observer to this wimbledon, I checked why there weren't seemingly many big games prior to quarter finals. Turns out that a bunch of top seeds couldn't play (russians, medvedev, rublev). Cilic, zverev. Plus, we have top seeds not coming through -...

    Murray To Retire At Wimbledon

I'm likely wrong, but some injuries take years to heal. From what I know of his timeline, he's not stopped training/rehab for a long period of time - 1+ year. The body isn't magic but it can repair given time. As many have said, he just went flat out. I think he could return to tennis in 2...

Question on housing market pricing and effects

Thanks. I'm thinking in more in general terms. Here's my take as an example... A person owns a home. The housing market suffers for a long period of time (10 years). Within this time, they cannot move/upgrade because in order to 'upgrade/move', they need a buyer. As their house has greatly...

Question on housing market pricing and effects

Sometimes through recession, or times when there is wide margin between house prices relative to income, the housing market changes and fewer people can get on the mortgage ladder. In those times, the non-home owners effect is simple - they are unable to get onto the housing ladder. However...

Thanks for your own experience. Can I ask what happened on your injury? Was it a fall? Did you hear a snap? Were you able to play on etc?

    Injury treatment program question

I asked about the typical 'procedure' because my treatment hasn't been thorough. I've not been told exactly which ligament it is, but that there is a tear. I saw a physio for a while but it hasn't improved and he wasn't experienced with TFCC.
  28. ST_spitzertelescope

    Injury treatment program question

The reason I ask is I've not been able to play any racket sports for almost two years now due to TFCC and will be due to have another consultation. They've not been doing any reassessing. So I'm looking at the proper way it should be done.
