Racquet similar to new TF40 305 18x20 but longer handle?

You don’t even need to buy a new grip, just re-wrap the current grip with a little stretch and less overlap. You will end up higher up the handle with the added bonus that the overlap now has a nice groove for you to overlap the overgrip for a smooth finish

He has such an attractive game to watch and graceful strokes. Love to watch him change the pace, jump on forehands and get to the net. Pleased he's playing such great tennis

    adidas Barricade XIII

yea they are ridiculously long aren’t they?! I’ve been using the loop on the tongue to tuck them in. It’s silly because they don’t even have the extra eyelets to use a runner’s knot, so you’ll never need the extra length

    adidas Barricade XIII

Does anyone replace the laces in their barricades? They’re so thin they cut into the foot at the top, wondering if thicker laces would help or if the tongue just needs more cushion. (Current -1 version)

RunRepeat is the gold standard for shoe teardowns

For those that aren't aware, RunRepeat has been quickly adding to their catalogue of tennis shoe tear downs. https://runrepeat.com/uk/catalog/tennis-shoes Credit to the og foot doctor, but the format and measurements that RR are providing are more useful (imo) when assessing a potential new...

    MSV Swift

I’ve hit some more with a full bed and had some contrasting experiences. I strung up the same racquet at the same tension as before (21.5/21kg), but found the control to be a lot worse as well as the mains moving out of position/not snapping back. This was happening from fresh! I tested the...

    MSV Swift

I'll preface this by saying, I'm not a fan of PTP, in fact I've never even hit with it for a full session because I would prefer to play with anything else. But personally I think Swift is leagues better than PTP, more spin, power, control, the lot. It's worth mentioning that I found Swift to...

    MSV Swift

I've had a bit of time testing Swift 1.25mm in a full bed, strung at 21.5/21kg. Feel & comfort: This was a bit of a surprise. It felt stiffer, and more responsive than I was expecting. I wouldn't say it was harsh, but I certainly wouldn't say it was soft. This corresponds with Racketpedia's...

    Head Extreme 2024 Thread

What effect does the Auxetic 2.0 have? Curious about the feel at impact, sound off the strings, pocketing & comfort. I’m guessing the paint will resemble the other new releases but with different colours. Any hints on the colour palette?

    Alu Power Substitute

I take that back - I was confusing Stability with Tension holding, thinking they were the other way around. Tension holding String tension maintenance in a static test of 300 secs (5 minute). The string is pulled to 30-32kg and the test values the percentage tension decay at the end of the...

    Alu Power Substitute

These graphs obviously aren't definitive. It's interesting that people say alu drops tension quickly but has just as good or better lab based tension loss than many of the clones.

Would you say the added stability is from the new tech, or is the twistweight a bit higher?

Has anyone here tried to remove the foam handle on the v8 and replace with pallets? Curious to know if the "Direct connect" hairpin will cause an issue.

    Medvedev back to razor code?

Fair point. It was a rare occasion that I actually respond to the inane knee jerk "they lost so they should change X" posts, and it wasn't even one of them :X3:

Yea, had to be the strings. Not the fact that he was physically spent.

    Ultimate string of choice !

Hey @galapagos, I noticed you’ve got a rating for Head Lynx but no full review linked. Was it not a great playtest? On paper it looks like a softer more controlled Firestorm. How would you compare the two?

Looks like they’ve ditched the full “plastic wrap”. I wonder how that will impact the lateral stability. Hopefully they will be more breathable and maybe even lighter.

    String weight and swing weight

There is definitely more interest from consumers in the swingweight and twistweights of racquets. We can only hope that this does actually lead to manufacturers both listing and tightening their QC on these previously invisible specs
