    best way to wrap toes?

Ugh, I started taping my big toe because of large callouses on the ball of the toe. Then the tape rubbed the next toe into a blister, so I taped it, then the next toe for the same reason. I said screw it and quit taping all together. Wish I had a better answer but I'm just dealing with the...

    Best shoes to protect ankle

Most any of them have the wedges on the outside to offer lateral support. The real answer though, strengthen your ankles.

I have not but imagine it would be a nice experience.

    Tennis Rituals & Superstitions

OCD at its finest in this thread. I always play my forehands with the non-knotted side of the rubberband damper. Serve too. When receiving serve I hold my racquet towards the server and make sure it goes, right, left, then right...of the server. I also HAVE to have a cleared area of the...

Was thinking flipping them. Found the pair for $40. May be able to double my money?

The picture may not be very good, I've requested more. The price seems right, but wanted to make sure these are worth something...

    Playing tennis with stitches...

Turned out it wasn't cancerous, and was considered an "extremely blue mole". After I found that out I wanted it back! Point being, the OP will be fine with a couple stitches.

    Playing tennis with stitches...

A couple stitches in the face? Please! Have you never watched an NHL game before? Those guys go into the locker room, receive dozens of stitches and are back out on their next line change. I played two years ago the day after getting a funky mole removed from my serving shoulder. I think...

    Ever heard of rib subluxation?

I have a rib on my right back, under my shoulder blade that is overlapping slightly the rib below it. I had it treated years ago and injured it again last night. The PT doesn't know why it happens, just that it does. It makes breathing hard and is NOT something I enjoy going through. Been...

    Early match sickness

My son takes football very seriously for a 9 year old. He too would wake up sick and feel like puking. It was very hard to get him to eat, which would effect his performance. I noticed one weekend during a typical 8:00 am game day he wasn't nervous at all. He was more excited we had planned...

Throwing my racket... at least once a day. (Serious Thread)

Build up the buttcap a bit. I shattered two racquets in two weeks last year and I've since built up the buttcap quite a bit. I still notice it wanting to slip on serves but I haven't actually launched one since doing this. I too thought of putting a tether on the handle but haven't actually...

    What is your career/career to-be?

Mechanical Engineer here. After 14 years I am burned out badly. I've changed jobs three times in the last 18 months hoping one would spark a fire under my arse but it hasn't happened. Money is okay, but I wouldn't say I am "happy" doing what I do anymore.

Tennis Serve Wrist Snap: Harmful Myth?!?!

People can be too "wristy" in their serves. I went through it last year. My shoulder flexibility had gone down hill dramatically (Previous shoulder injuries) and I was making it up with more wrist snap at the top of my serve. This led to my weak grip allowing my racquets to come flying out of my...

    The P90X CLUB

I did ...well...P63X... Quick story was my son and I decided to try it out this winter when I was unemployed. I had all the time in the world and was needing to do 'something' as I hadn't lifted in a year. My son is 8, I'm 38. Our first week was humbling. My son is a typical hyperactive...

    Under the influence.

Well, last weekend was kind of a strange one...I was doing some yard work, enjoying a few beers when my neighbor stops by...and we have another beer. We start talking tennis and agree we should proceed to the courts post haste for a hit. I've never played tennis with this neighbor as they moved...

    Best Tennis Books

Winning Ugly was a good read. Helped me focus on each point. Inner Game...I quit reading it. Inner self, outer self, middle self, screw that. It had me more frustrated than anything. I got "Open" for X-mas this year...haven't had time to sit and read though.

Is it cruel to boil lobsters alive?

I think the "fisherman" and packagers should quit rubber banding their claws. I bet lobster sales would go down quite a bit knowing your neighbor is missing a couple digits from their last lobster boil.

Left racquets in trunk during the rains

My racquets stay in my trunk year round too and I'm in the Rocky Mountains. We see desert like heat in the summers and frigid temperatures in the winters. I've never had a damaged racquet because of the temperatures. And to be honest, i don't notice my strings being affected either. Maybe I...

I am thinking of putting on a tether, or a leash on my racquets

Good news, I played twice this weekend (first time out since we are very seasonal here) and didn't feel the racquets come loose once. I did however change from a platform stance to a pinpoint stance this year and am focusing more on that than how tight I'm holding my racquet. Hopefully I...

    Building a serve from scratch

One of the things FYB's mentions is, "Down together, up together". It helps keep the rhythm in the serve...at least it did for me. I could also join this bandwagon as I've gone from a platform stance all my life to a pinpoint stance this winter. Sheesh, it took some getting used to but I feel...

    practice etiquette

Another passive aggressive approach to this is I'll yell out a score to people that do this. As I feed the next ball I'll yell out, "Love-40", then remind them we're not really keeping score during the warmups.

    Arnica gel

Guy I used to work with and play tennis with swore by the stuff. I never looked hard for it but after a few matches this year my wrist is killing me again. I've been through PT twice for it and am tired of it hurting. I may go seek this stuff out this week.

I am thinking of putting on a tether, or a leash on my racquets

Bringing back an old thread here since I'll be on the courts again starting this weekend. To answer the previous questions, no I don't have sweaty hands, at least not that I'm aware of. I believe I hold the grip tight enough since it only happens once in a while. I use 4 1/2" grips...

Anybody try Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA?

Ah a thread I can relate to. I don't know if you get the New Belgiums line down ther but ther Ranger IPA is excellent, as is the Happy Camper from New Mexico. Breckenridge Brewery makes a fine IPA as well, 471 Double Hopped IPA and at 9.2% is a nice way to start the evenings.

File a police report. SOmeone stole $1700 from you. Then call the Postal master in your area and see if what they did constitutes mail fraud (Mailing something using your name without your permission). Good luck.
