No, Nadal has always employed the slice against Novak, it just never used to work. It would eventually land short and Novak would jump on it. During the final, he used it when he was with the wind, putting more bite on the slice

Hasn't been a year for epic finals, but I would go with Wimbledon 2013 just out of drama and the fact that it was probably the most competitive of the 3. Also, I'm biased :)

I feel that this is where Murray gets Novak on grass: he has more options. Novak can't play and win too many "crafty" points. His only option is to destroy Murray from the baseline. Djokovic can't pass on the run as well as Murray can. Everyone knows Murray will pass 90% of the time CC on his forehand, but he still hits it well enough to get it past them. Watch his match vs Tsonga at Wimby 2012 for some great passing shots.

I hope Fed makes the final if it's not at the expense of Murray :). His record for consecutive years making a major final should continue, it doesn't seem fitting that a longevity-based stat's record holder shouldn't be held by a player whose career has raised the standards for longevity.

I'm not British so I don't have that going for me :neutral:. For me, seeing him win his first major was great to see, and it was nice to see him prove all his doubters wrong. I also enjoyed seeing every thread from 08/09/10/11 on Murray not being able to win a major revived

You should be able to, and you can always try and find a practice schedule. Good luck, I remember going to Cincy once and Novak walked right next me going to his practice court, I nearly fainted.

This is absurd. Does this mean Federer has to send a gift to Rosol for beating Nadal last year? Or should Djokovic send a gift to Fed for extending Murray to five sets at the AO this year? By this line of thinking there should just skip to the semi's and play them between the top 4

Novak and Murray are on top on hard, Murray has cemented himself as one of the best, if not the best, grasscourter currently. Nadal still owns clay, and is a question mark on other surfaces. Fed is a wildcard, no telling if his play will improve or decline.

This really showed how much Murray has matured mentally. Two years ago, he fell apart because he missed an opportunity for 0-40 and got 15-30 instead.

He hasn't played Rafa since 2011, correct? I really want to see a healthy rafa vs a healthy Murray. I always felt that Murray had the game to beat Rafa, but just couldn't do it mentally.

He backs it up well. Djokovic got a lot of deep returns on Andy's 2nd serve, but Andy was able to return in and not be put into a bad spot.

Let's not forget at the AO this year Murray played a 5 setter vs Novak's 3 set semi, and Murray also had one less day of rest too.
