V14 the end of pro staff?

If I could ... -serve with the Pro Staff -Defend with the Babalot -Volley with the Prestige -hit approaches with a Yonex and -hit overheads with a ... pro staff. I'd be golden.

V14 the end of pro staff?

... A stock Bab Pure Drive right? We all know you're looking at the new Head Prestige Pro or Wilson PS 95!!

V14 the end of pro staff?

Interesting. The stock PS97 serves bigger than the stock Blade (at least the 16x19) IMO. Then again it could be semantics / factors. Maybe I serve bigger with the PS bc I'm more confident in the control to go after (eg second serves)? Ofc no pros are playing stock.

V14 the end of pro staff?

Great point. This is why I think the X and 100 are doing better than most think (perhaps) - but they don't have the love / history / pedigree of the 97. My biggest aha moments have come with elements. I play well with a pure drive when it's cool/cold out. But when I got to Sacramento (98*)...

V14 the end of pro staff?

I think this is bc most people bite off more than they should by using full poly for example. Or at least don't use a thinner gauge. PS97 - really opens up with Gut or Multi mains and poly crosses. PSX - definitely takes full poly better (I like 1.20mm) This is my opinion / experience.

V14 the end of pro staff?

I also love it. It's modern enough (100si), but heavy enough to still be solid. I think the 97 serves better, harder, more accurately, but the X off the ground is beautiful.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Head Prestige TW Exclusives

Me too. Extremely painful year. Gold poly in these would be sweet nonetheless. I use the Pro Staff, so finding a garnet poly is tough. Maybe I need this

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Head Prestige TW Exclusives

Hoping to be a part of the Pro play test (might pull the trigger on one anyway). Really gel'ing with the Pro Staff X with Tour Bite Soft 17. Always gravitate toward softer-players and Pro Staff type racquets. Had a good run with the Graphene Pros when they went lighter (about 12 yrs ago?)...

    Wilson Pro Staff V14.0

I think the feel is similar. One main feel thing for me, is that I can play a 1.20 poly in the X and it feels right. But the same poly in the 97 feels just slightly more dead in comparison. Also, more forgiveness a teeny bit more oomph - and with that a little more height on groundies...

    Wilson Pro Staff V14.0

I'm still playing my best with the X. Had yet another fling with the Bab PD, but could not trust it in big situations - even though the power was fun, it was tough for me to trust in tight spots. I just need to remember to make tension adjustments 45lb in the cool - 53lb in the heat for...

    Pro Stock Blade question

Very helpful. Thx. Mine appear to be H22 molds at least. There is no taper or taper to round. And in my experience with off the shelf Blade 16x19 - mine are softer and even more powerful / solid (although 10g in the handle and 4g on the frame).

    Pro Stock Blade question

1-Sorry if this (this: info on how to decipher, see below) is posted somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. 2-Thx for letting me add to this post (v creating another one...) Does anyone know what the codes on Blades are or mean? I have 2 that are 3012-21 and one that is 3013-21 (this one...

    Wilson Pro Staff V14.0

Back in love with this… You gotta get on the gas pedal with this one, and let the chips fall where they fall. My last 2 results are telling: Last week I played a grinding, get the ball in with my “safe“ stick: Speed MP; ran outta gas and nose-dived hard in the second and third. Let many...

Babolat Star 5 stopped working, display is lit but blank

This…. I had the same issue last week and realized it was pretty cool in the utility building. Turned the heater on and after 10/15m - that woke it up. i might need to take the tension module out soon and clean it

    Pure Strike 2024

Same, never had issues with the v2 and the v3 feels very plush to me. Definitely can feel that I've played with the PD the next day tho, but the power and throughput of that was enough for me to reconsider over and over. The Pure Strike is a great middle between traditional/softer/player...

    Pure Strike 2024

Just picked up several of the outgoing model during the Black Friday sale. Forgot how nice these sticks are (even tho I only played with the PO7/v2). Glad I did. Just a much easier play than what I had been trying to make work (PS97, RadPro, Blade 16m, PSX). First time in a while I've...

    Wilson Pro Staff V14.0

For me, it's great. It also helps that I play NXT mains and ALU crosses. All poly is not meant for me (who plays 3-5 hours a week).

    Wilson Pro Staff V14.0

I have just now discovered that the PS97 becomes such a different racquet with a Multi in the mains and poly (ALU) in the crosses. I thought I'd lose control and I wouldn't get spin. Wow, was I wrong. I noticed it most on second serves and FHs. I knew that the feel would be better, but ...

2023 Yonex VCore Pro Racquets / 2024 Percept Racquets

The pullups absolutely mug me. To do proper pullups with the vest (100 of them!), I"d need 90 mins. But because I'm short on time, I'm ramping them in so I'll do 30 pullups and 70 pull downs (with lighter weight than myself) 1 week; then 40/60 week 2, 0/50, 60/40 week 4 .... then by week...

    Head Auxetic Radical

What are folks thinking of the Aux Radical Pro? I picked one up for a demo/test ... I've been playing with the Pro Staff X for 3 months and been really enjoying that one. The Pro is a bit more maneuverable and has a higher ball flight. I feel the Pro Staff is a tad more stable, but the...

Wilson Pro Staff X V14 Thread

Interestingly I think the PSX is somewhere in the middle of the Vcore 100 and the PS7. While it's true it will lean closer to the PS97 due to weight, design, balance, etc. To me it's much more forgiving than the 97 but with pretty good feel. Bonus for me is in the approaches and net -...

Wilson Pro Staff X V14 Thread

Yea, the GMP in (stock form) feels so quick, and the X does not. I have Element in the queue as well, so glad to hear the feedback there. Usually don't wander too far away from the popular strings (eg that TW carries).

Wilson Pro Staff X V14 Thread

Yea, I get the honeymoon concern. I actually played a poor match (bad L TBH) with the X already and let doubts creep in, but stuck with it and decided to keep marching on improving my FH and serve. After a few sessions I've realized the process is there to enjoy, I will not always have my best...

Definitely gel’ing with this X more and more. I can’t get over how solid/stable it is (esp returns). Gaining more and more confidence with serves and groundies. Enjoyed 4G 1.25 really liked hyper G 1.20 went back to ALU, and that felt great as well. next is ALU 1.20 then cyclone 1.20
