Most of the stringbed characteristic in terms of feel comes from the mains. So you’ll have more of the comfort, power, and feel advantage of gut with a gut mains setup (plus better tension stability). Additionally, string “slickness” is more important in the crosses. Gut crosses will lead to...

    Comfort racquets...?

If ever you need a comfort frame with more oomph without adding tons of weight, the Wilson Clash does offer that. It’s a hit or miss on control though depending on your playstyle, as a tradeoff. Phantoms are plenty comfy and playable for advanced players, but a bit low on power. If that doesn’t...

Found out my opponent for the tournament tomorrow, pretty easy, just the 215th ranked player in Germany. Easy sailing right? Kidding aside this will be a hard learning experience. Got some training sessions from my friend ranked in the 140s these past two weeks but that won’t save me I’m sure lol

Not a super high LK you say and drop an LK 4 :-D I mean sure there’s higher but that’s really solid tennis ESPECIALLY if he can hold that LK while not playing a lot.

“Clearly”? I think you underestimate how much effort goes into creating your own product. I think it’s more worth it for Fed to strategically partner with existing producers given his popularity and ability to move product with his name. You saw that play out with the shoe brand On.

Last I checked the scientific literature on collagen shows that it has no demonstrable benefit vs. normal protein products (i.e. no demonstrable benefit for tendons, ligaments, etc.)? My guess is that ingesting collagen isn’t effective cause our body breaks it down in the process of digestion...

Gutted to hear Gads… It was really nice to read about your recovery and recent joy on the tennis courts. Stay safe out there and I hope you can make a swift recovery and soon grace the courts in full force again!

Not liking leather grips much these days, wondering whether replacing it with a synthetic is the way to go for me. Would get the static weight down to the PS97 I’d think? Curious to see the reviews roll in with time.

    Would today's ATP 200 be ATP #1 in 1991 ?

Nutrition and physical training, such as flexibility and strength training. Our understanding of the human body has progressed, making both preparation and recovery more effective. As to Fed, yeah and poly crosses aren’t a huge difference, right?

played around 3 hours of tennis yesterday across two sessions. I’m starting to get the one hander. Actually hit a cross court winner on one occasion which felt sweet as hell. But I still need to figure out the down the line and how to deal with pace and especially height. Would be nice to have a...

I think of it more as verbal cues that coaches use to correct certain errors in technique. Both recommendations can be ok, it depends on the starting point. But you don’t want strong exaggerations of either really. Abbreviated windshield wipers call for smoothing out the stroke/ elongating the...

    Roddick to Wilson?

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if he went back to standard length now that he plays less. Just easier to get around.

That is the plan! Going to the gym next week to get a membership, I need proper machines to work out with only one functioning arm. I’m pretty fit when it comes to cardio but I’ll up the intensity again and work back up to a 4 min/km pace on shorter (5km) runs. And yeah flexibility is sth I...

It depends a bit on what I’m doing. So long as my wrist isn’t doing anything and in neutral it’s basically painless. But if I twist it or try to apply force it varies from slight to mild pain. The larger the force the more it hurts though, and if I tried to hit a ball it would feel like my arm...

It’s tendinitis in the outside part of the left wrist, due to the wrist flexion on the backhand. I have a follow up appointment in 5 weeks and during that time I’m supposed to not do basically any exercise with the left hand. But it will most likely take 12 weeks till I can start fully exerting...

Mine came on a two hander on the top hand lol Issue I think was playing suddenly with heavier Dunlop balls and that against a national level player who decided to unload early into the hitting session. I unconsciously corrected with my wrist to meet the ball up front while I was adjusting to...

I’ll probably still hit for fun and work on improving the slice and maybe try to learn a proper one hander for ****s and giggles. Only upside in this all is that it didn’t hit my dominant hand.

Thanks Gads and I will. A stupid part in me hopes I can somehow keep up strength training despite it but I can barely do everyday tasks that involve load with the left hand the next day, so that part will have to die it seems… Don’t think it’s a break cause there’s no bruising or swelling but...
