    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

Unrelated but is that black and orange racket a new paint job for pure strike?

    Kei Nishikori thread information gear

I would at least demo if retail version of Nishikori’s racket comes out! In the meantime the latest Prestige MP specs looks sort of close to what Nishikori has. What do folks think? https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_Prestige_MP_2023/descpageRCHEAD-HPRMP.html

    Pure Aero 98 Club

I can't say for sure but strings were not notched at all so they looked fresh. I think they were just strung too tight especially considering my baseline is 44lbs.

    2024/25 New Vcore Official Thread

If feel was a concern with the pure strike 100 16x20 then the Vcore 98 would have the same issue. Also the launch angle for flat hitters. Main reason I demoed it but did not stick with the racket. If stiffness and swing weight are not a concern the pure strike 98 could be an option. Have you...

    Pure Aero 98 Club

Had a hit with a demo PA 98. It was strung 51lbs with Hyper-g. My initial impressions is it felt close to a frying pan and off-center shots die. Hoping that lowering tension and stringing with a softer or thinner gauge poly would help. For context, I normally use ezone 98+ strung with Tour...

    Yonex Ezone 98 2022 vs Ezone 100 2022

I play ezone 98. It can product a lot of spin but its launch angle is naturally low since the string spacing in the sweet spot is very dense for a 98inch 16x19 pattern racket. It would be a very big change compared to what you are using. Ezone 100 is a toned down version of PA and Extreme MP...

Hitting the ball square on or brushing up?

In addition to the above, in my experience hitting the ball with the racket face angled downwards produces top spin which other folks might describe as "covering the ball" or "hitting over the ball". While in reality the racket is probably almost 100% square to the ball, this mental trick helps...

    2023 Yonex VCores

Hey folks! This probably was covered in this thread but… Can some folks comment on launch angle, power/control and spin difference between Vcore 98 and ezone 100? I found Vcore 98 too high launch angle. Hoping ezone 100 might actually be more controlled? Using ezone 98 but I actually want more...

    Vcore 98 2023 -Where's the love?

@Leopardini Is it mostly the swing weight that affects your shoulder or is stiffness a concern? If you want low swing weight but stable I think you need thicker framers that are stiffer. Like Pure Strike 100 16x20 assuming it is close to actual listed specs. Ezone 98 stability is similar to...

A racket to play like Nishikori

From my past brief research, it seems the racket has gotten mixed reviews. What are your thoughts on it? @thenewbig3

A racket to play like Nishikori

I want to play like Nishikori i.e. stay close to the baseline, hit balls on rise and dictate points while injecting some variety like drop shots and volleys. I’m a solid 4.0 player and finding the right racket is the only thing stopping me from propelling to a legendary ATP player. As a side...

    Prince Official - Racquets

On the other hand, launch angle on the 16X18i s pretty high compared to a Blade 16x19 so you'd need to adjust the strings like thicker gauge and tighter tension etc. I'm in the same boat where Ideally I want some thing in the middle .

    Pure Strike 2024

Feel for Gen 4 Pure Strike is a lot better compared to Gen 3 so I wouldn't completely dismiss it! Also wouldn't the 16x19 pattern Pure Strike be a better comparison to PD 98? It'll have more power and larger sweet spot compared to 18x20.

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

Another Japanese review. They go into way more detail but I extracted some bits where they compare to other rackets vs. Blade 98: Gravity has a bit more power. Feels firmer and has more access to spin. Higher launch angle. Blade easier to swing. vs. Pure Strike 98: Pure Strike has a bit more...

    Easiest 98 to use

Thoughts on Extreme Pro vs Radical MP and Pure Strike? From my brief experience with Extreme Tour (older iteration of pro), it lacked some plow through and slices were not great. Did they fix that?

    Kei Nishikori thread information gear

What's the closest racket to Nishikori's current racket (not the 95 tour 16x20 that he used to use)? I heard some rumors that it might be like a Wilson H25. Anything available in retail that's similar?

How does Pure Strike 98 16x19 compare with ATS 100p? I assume power, launch angle and spin are higher on Pure Strike but is it a small difference?

    From a Blade 98 16x19 v8 to a pure aero 100

@peRFecto You probably need to play a lot of matches to find out! But if you really enjoy it, then I say try it out for a while. Leaving aside the stiffness one can handle... in my experience powerful frames help a lot when on defense like absorbing pace, hitting loopy balls or retrieving shots...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Can anyone comment on playability duration for Mako? I can't restring often so I like strings that play consistent for longer. One of the reasons I like Tour Sniper.

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

Another Gravity 98 review from Japan. Quick summary translation. Good usability / easy to use Higher launch angle and faster swing speed than Gravity Pro Plush feel but has power Good spin. More than rackets like Percept Somewhat similar to Pure Strike Stable at net Most of it seems to...

    Mayami strings

@LocNetMonster Thanks for additional details! For me I want to extend playability as much so sounds like Tour Hex mains and Pure Rush cross might be a good idea.

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

@Hankenstein review definitely made me interested in this release compared to before! Seems like a good power/control and feel balance. Although if you are attracted to existing gravity identify then I can see why it does really appeal since it seems a bit different from that. I’m thinking a...

    Mayami strings

First time hearing about Blue Rush (or is it Pure Rush)! Seems like a pretty good string in full bed on its own. How would you describe with compared to Tour Hex? What's the benefit to hybrid-ing it with the two?

    Mayami strings

Thanks! How long does playability last for Hit Pro? Is it softer than Wilson Revolve or Poly Tour Pro?

    Mayami strings

Hey folks what round poly cross strings work well with tour hex in your experience? Looking for a bit more comfort and pocketing without losing long lasting playability. Maybe ghost wire or like hawk touch? I tried poly tour pro but I didn’t like it too much. string seemed to lock up.

    Yonex ezone 98 2022

On a separate note, I tried Mayami Tour Hex mains and Poly Tour Pro cross hybrid. I was hoping to get added comfort and feel from PTP while maintaining spin and playability duration from Tour Hex. However, it didn't turn out well because the PTP cross notched very early which reduced spin...

    Yonex ezone 98 2022

I think power it's up for debate. Depends on play style and who you ask. With equal swing speed, I would say Vcore 98 due to launch angle, but with ezone 98 you have thin throat and low swing weight so personally I can swing faster with ease which translates to faster ball.

    Yonex ezone 98 2022

Easier access to spin and higher launch angle. Arm friendly but the feel is more muted in exchange.
