I can't say for sure but strings were not notched at all so they looked fresh. I think they were just strung too tight especially considering my baseline is 44lbs.

On the other hand, launch angle on the 16X18i s pretty high compared to a Blade 16x19 so you'd need to adjust the strings like thicker gauge and tighter tension etc. I'm in the same boat where Ideally I want some thing in the middle .

Feel for Gen 4 Pure Strike is a lot better compared to Gen 3 so I wouldn't completely dismiss it! Also wouldn't the 16x19 pattern Pure Strike be a better comparison to PD 98? It'll have more power and larger sweet spot compared to 18x20.

@peRFecto You probably need to play a lot of matches to find out! But if you really enjoy it, then I say try it out for a while. Leaving aside the stiffness one can handle... in my experience powerful frames help a lot when on defense like absorbing pace, hitting loopy balls or retrieving shots...

Can anyone comment on playability duration for Mako? I can't restring often so I like strings that play consistent for longer. One of the reasons I like Tour Sniper.

I think power it's up for debate. Depends on play style and who you ask. With equal swing speed, I would say Vcore 98 due to launch angle, but with ezone 98 you have thin throat and low swing weight so personally I can swing faster with ease which translates to faster ball.

Easier access to spin and higher launch angle. Arm friendly but the feel is more muted in exchange.
