Sinner's Hip: What Is Going On?

Murray liked to start hobbling around when he was losing, even after he bulked up. I honestly think he may have put on more weight than ideal for tennis.

    Two Giraffes ??

Slightly shorter than the querrey isner team I think.

    It's Up To Jannik Now

Sinner plays an agassi style game, wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with an agassi like career which is really good. May still not exceed alcaraz but nothing wrong with that. Really will probably come down to health for both guys.

2024 Paris Olympics Doubles QF: Nadal & Alcaraz [ESP] vs. Ram & Krajicek [USA]

Copy ruud and play a bunch of clay 250s until everything lines up for him. Or schedule an exo vs Gasquet.

i still think nadal can win 2024 USO

This thread is about doubles right?

So what went wrong with Nadal ?

I think nadal just needs to get a tweener racquet (pure drive?), string it up with gut and s/v on every serve. I read on ttw that he has the best volleys on tour and the new racquet setup should give him some more pop on serve so this should work, no?

    RF Stand Alone Records

He must hold the record for most accumulated $$$. Unless it's less than ion tiriac, although tiriacs was more after his playing career I think.

James Blake - Best Forehand Ever?

Probably a notch below delpo and Gonzalez for me, blakes FH really only seemed to work on hard court. And obviously below federer and nadal. However, still better than a vast majority of the tour at the time, so not trying to minimize it, just think the others you mentioned had better shots.

    Hall of racket control greats

Maybe also Nalbandian and Brad Gilbert. But already mentioned names of McEnroe, mecir and Rios immediately came to mind for me.

Roger Federer's precise serve placement was the key to his beautiful game

When filtered for hard court looks like 44th overall and 14th against first serves. I prefer to look that way as the clay return points are generally less about the return as a stand alone shot. But overall message is the same, he wasn't particularly elite on second serve returns.

    ATP250 Swiss Open 2024

Tsitsipas makes every backhand look good by comparison, even berrettini lol.

Will Arthur Fils be Alcaraz's biggest rival?

He will have the same record as monfils against nadal.

    Best Umpire In The Game??

That would be my thought also.

Roger Federer's precise serve placement was the key to his beautiful game

Federer was one of the best at getting big 1st serves back in play. But he definitely had a weakness in being too passive on second serves. Even statistically his first serve return won rate is one of the better ones but his second serve return won is actually kind of middle of the road.

Prediction: Berrittini Will Win US Open

Is he in the doubles with fognini? He may have a chance that way.

Alcaraz serve truthers: why oh why are his serve numbers so underwhelming?

I think his serve is still streaky but odds are he gets more consistent over the next couple of years. He has plenty of pace already so, unfortunately for the field, it will probably get more effective in the near future.

Connors' forehand is possibly the most underrated shot in tennis history

I think his serve was weaker than his forehand. He did struggle on his forehand to create his own pace (see lendl junkballing against him) but in normal rallies it generally held up fine. Also helps as a lefty going to righty backhands. And one area I think his forehand was really effective was...

I think he may even challenge Vilas for the greatest arm imbalance title, it's already super impressive for his age.

Carlos Alcaraz: "Novak knows hot to beat me"

I mean, not unreasonable to think he can get there but beating Novak way past his prime doesn't really mean that much for the argument. It will be more important for him to stay on top of the rankings and continuing to accumulate slams over a longer period of time.

Carlos Alcaraz: "Novak knows hot to beat me"

Need at least 5 more years to determine if alcaraz can accumulate accomplishments close to any of the big 3. He is off to a good start but tomorrow's match in and if itself has little bearing on judging him against the others.

Do You Have 10,000 To Spare?

Glass half full view would say that it means there is still a robust market for tennis, at least outside of the US. Is it 10k usd or pounds? Not that it makes a huge difference.
  26. 8

How many sets do you reckon Alcaraz would have taken off Sinner today?

4 or 5. First 3 would have been too easy for Carlos so they would have played a few practice sets to get a full workout in which alcaraz would have also won.
