Remove all the paint on a racquet?

I'll upload a picture soon, but I just used sandpaper to remove the paint from one of my racquets. Started rough, and ended with fine to have a smooth racquet. Kinda cool what the graphite weave pattern looks likes.

Can you customize a racket to increase its stiffness?

*clap clap clap* :-D On a serious note, there's no make it structurally stiffer since that depends on the material and manufacturing process.

    Bonjour from Babolat

No joke!! I couldn't remember who I sold it to. I hope it has treated you well. It was hard letting that go. I still can't find a stick that played like that piece of work.

Head IG Prestige S: Any Comments?

It's been a long time since I've been on the TTW forums. So I'm definitely glad that there's a huge tennis community here with lots of insight. I sold a good amount of my tennis gear a few years back when I was done with high school tennis, and recently got back into it during college. I was...

    Bonjour from Babolat

Hey Babolat! I actually haven't posted on TTW for a few years, and I think it's about time to get back into it. Anyways, a while back, I picked up a prototype Aero Storm. It didn't have a Cortex System like the production version, and it also had a box beam design unlike the AeroPro Control. So...

    2012 Luxilon 4G Playtest

Thank you TW for letting me take part on this playtest! This is what I posted directly on the Luxilon FB page: Had a great playtest with the Luxilon 4G! Some quick info on me: I play with a Babolat AeroPro Control. Full western grip, play with moderate spin and flats whenever I can...

Who thinks the AeroPro Drive French Open edition is SWEET????

Liked last year's cosmetic much better. Loved that all red look. Maybe it's just me yearning for an all red Aero Storm paintjob for the GT line. But this new black one is pretty stealthy, for the most part. I think if they simplified it a bit more (not as much details), I would have loved it.

Grip, over grip for dry hands

You're in the same boat as me. I personally use Gamma Supreme, and only that. I have really dry hands, probably like you. If I use a dry feeling overgrip (such as Tourna, Head Xtrasoft, and so on), it really makes it uncomfortable. Bothers my hand, and I developed a callus on the right side of...

Do you use a leather grip?

Sadly, no. I tried TW Leather. Even with an overgrip, it was just too hard on my hand. I loved the pure and firm feel from it. But it wasn't as comfortable as a standard synthetic grip.

    Saving replacement grip..

You just answered your own question. Keep it somewhere. Ziploc and put it in your closet. Then use it on another racquet. But if you were wondering, I don't think there's any special way to store a grip. As long as there's no dust, you should be fine.

    What smartphone do you use?

Still on an iPhone 2G. Over 5 years old, and still lovely condition.

    Can't Hit X shot with X racquet.

I wouldn't say that a different racquet causes certain strokes to die. But rather, certain racquets can improve your shots. Like everyone said, it's all about technique. Sure, I can pick up a cheap Wilson racquet and pull some kick serves, regardless of its 10 ounce weight and super HH balance...

    wilson nCode tour

I had one for a while that I used as a loaner. It was a very forgiving racquet. Anyways, the closest thing I can think of is a Head YTK Radical MP. Even though the nCode Tour is an extended racquet, it felt very similar to a Radical racquet in almost every other way.

    Help with Broken Babolat?

Even if they were to accept it, the warranty only lasts 1 year. Besides, Babolat is probably the stingiest company when it comes to warranty replacements. Sorry bro.

True or False: A stiff racquet will become softer over time.

Yes, and no. Frames will "flex out" overtime. But this is from deterioration from constant impacts with the ball. It won't become flexier as in RA flex, but it would just lose stability.

Looking for a nice racket, can have some advice

How's the Aero Storm Prototype doing for you Fuji?

    Aeroprodrive - Unique?

How would it be unique if AeroPro's are practically everywhere you look? It's like saying that a white Toyota Camry is unique. That's just my POV on it. But it is an interesting racquet, since it did bring the whole "spin for the win" hype.

    Gamma Rzr 98T (BlackRacquet)

It's an amazing racquet. I actually sold my Aero Storm Prototype to Fuji because of this thing, and have no regrets. What the 98T offers that the AS didn't have was the extra pop. With this, it's so much easier to generate a heavy ball. I don't need to go wild on my swings, which was needed with...

    babolat

To save you even more time, they're not going to redeem your racquet. Babolat is probably the stingiest racquet company when it comes to warranty claims. Besides, you practically broke it by yourself.

    String recycling

Heck, someone on e-Bay is selling a bunch of used BB Alu. He states that they're dead, so they would never pop again.

    New laptop - need help

The best way to go would be a used laptop. Seriously. A higher-entry level (Pentium processor) laptops with 3 gigs of RAM can go about $500 brand new. At the same price, you can get a really good laptop that was used on e-Bay. I recently bought an HP Pavilion DV6-1378NR on e-Bay. Intel Core 2...

    Epiphone guitars

Agreeing with the guys here! I actually have a whole Epiphone setup (Hummingbird acoustic, and LP Standard), and I can really vouch for their quality! People think it's just a cheap branch of Gibson, but they really are the best bang for the buck. If you want a little more value, try to get...

ways to deaden or depower the racket.

Like stated, use a low powered string. I recommend checking out Gosen Polylon. it's dirt cheap, and has no power whatsoever. It might be too stiff if you string above 56 lbs. Also, lead tape on the handle itself. If you don't want a bulging part of the handle, put it through the trap door...

New IG Prestige MP: Low SW!...Why!

It's a real bummer. But what really makes me sad... The classic-game of tennis is starting to die, while the modern-game has kicked in. Everyone plays with topspin, and stays at baseline. It's hard to find a really good all-courter or serve/volley. Therefore, racquet manufacturers are making...

If anyone also has any feedback, feel free to post here! The past month or so, a company called BLACK RACQUET popped up on Facebook, sharing a new racquet design. As stated on their page: Black Racquet is attempting to design and bring to market the world's most aerodynamic tennis racquet...
