    Groundstrokes Harder

Good point. But the question is how do you practice and internalize the technique you have learnt. Knowing and learning a good technique is one thing, putting that in practice so that it becomes involuntary/second nature is an independent issue.

    Groundstrokes Harder

1 Hand feed hitting from all four boxes to all four boxes on the other side. Swing as hard as you can (with split step for each shot). You will make several mistakes in terms of racket drop, racket angle/grip and finish - identify what caused you to miss and rectify. Make sure the hand feeds...

    Match video from the weekend

What's really remarkable is the footwork, unit turn and wt transfer. You could see the athetes in them - feet spread apart while hitting, low center of gravity, bent knees to use the big quads and the glutes. These are refined shot making and see the quality of shot production. Placement and...

You have a valid point. Do you know all addicts know that whatever they are addicted to is bad but still do it. Discipline is not easy. I keep all junk food as away as possible from me to save myself from indulging.. a lot of people do that. If you can execute 100 pct per plan, consider yourself...

Slice baby slice - only if you can learn it well

If I can only slice like her - slice deep close to the baseline consistently. I can't keep more than 3 out of 10 in - but I'm tired of telling how bad I'm when it comes to slices.

Slice baby slice - only if you can learn it well

I would believe it when winning using slice becomes more common than one off match. A few might have exceptional gifts for hitting really good quality slices.

Slice baby slice - only if you can learn it well

I'm beginning to see some marginal improvement in my slice quality - one adjustment was to keep the wrist firm and fully laid back and elbow straight as I cut through the ball. Wonder that was one of the missing pieces in my long running slice puzzle... (it's still an emergency shot for me)

Front foot staying on ground in serving

I agree, more points to be gained by split stepping with wide base after serve than jump off a few inches. Too much jumping will reduce pace and increase spin.

Front foot staying on ground in serving

Proper and complete upper body serve motion is a lot more important(it's what determines 90% of the serve quality) than exploding off the ground. Would you rather get most of 90% or most out of 10%? Very easy to answer. If jump messes even 5-7% of the upper body motion, it should stay in the...

I'm saying questionable things about him, but I wouldn't start a tribute thread if I didn't care about him...but you knew it. I have read nice things about him from folks who have met and played tennis with him in real life.

You are a smart person to say the least.
