Anyone else here still use a Yonex Duel G?

I still use my DG 97 330g. I agree, on the days where movement is good and I'm nice and loose, this frame absolutely pancakes the ball. I know some don't care for the stiff feel, but it's right up my alley.

    Wilson six one 95 2014 vs 2017

I agree about the 2014 being a bit muted. I didn't like that one as much as the others. The 2017, 2010 BLX, K-factor, hypercarbon and nCode all have the beefy wallop when you catch a ball in the sweet spot. The k-factor 18x20 sounds like a rifle when I am loose and really hitting out. Really...

    Wilson six one 95 2014 vs 2017

I'd definitely say the hypercarbon is somewhere between the nCode and k-factor when it comes to stiffness. The 2017 version somehow is a mix of all of the good things from each version.

Favorite version of the Vcore Pro 97 lines?

I know the TW reviewers were lukewarm to it because some felt there was too much weight in the throat, but I still hit with my Tour G 330. Fantastic plow, spin, stability and a very satisfying crisp yet comfortably plush feel on impact. The balance of the frame works for me. I weighted up the...

    Smashing It. [pics]

Then Nick is not honest when he has been quoted as not adding any weight other than leather grip to his frame. I believe he said when asked he believes in hitting the gym and getting stronger to add power to his ball.

    Paula Badosa racket

I put 5 g blu tack into the handle, 3 gm lead at 12 o'clock, 1.5 g lead at 3 and 9 o'clock each and added a leather grip. Weight strung with overgrip: 339 gm, and it is about 8-9pts HL I estimate how headlight it feels compared to my other standard length frames that I like at that balance...

Rafa "went back to his old racquet" for RG 2022?

That's a great idea----to keep things interesting the Big 3 (assuming Fed still makes the occasional competitive cameo appearance) should just use each other's frames from here on.

    Advise on multi strings

I'm a 5.0 player, use a Blade 18x20. One of my set ups is max power in the mains with either Velocity 16g natural or premier control 15g in the cross just to soften the string bed a bit. The Velocity lasts around 5-6 hours and then snaps. PPC 15g lasts a little longer before it frays and...

Revisiting the Head Liquidmetal Radical MP

I just joined the club! I got a good condition one off the auction site; I think it is a chinese-made one (has the plain black butt cap with grey Head logo on it). I weighed it and it is 288 gm unstrung with a synthetic grip on it. I don't understand why it is so under-spec?

    Tourna Quasi Gut Armor

I've used the 16g version as a cross in an 18x20 blade with max power in the mains. The stringbed feels great and the quasi gut really softens it and removes a lot of the stiffness from the poly that starts hurting my arm if I use a full bed of max power for too long. The quasi gut armor...

This is kind of sad to see at the end of his career. Pretty soon we'll see him on here in the Wanted section looking to trade frames and string for some clothes to wear.

    Blade V8 Official Thread.

Needless to say the rep really couldn't tell me why I should ditch the 2013 Blade and just buy the v8. I didn't have the heart to pull out the kblade 98 18x20 I had in my bag.

    Blade V8 Official Thread.

A Wilson rep was at a local tourny I played in this weekend and he had the Blade v8. Really nice paint job especially in the sunlight. He wasn't letting anyone demo the frame or even take a photo though. The guy seemed to know stuff about some of the gimmicks of the frame like how the...

Djoker's Racket tech/adviser on all things pro/rec, you shouldn't use the RF :)

Yeah I'm sure Roman is in the know. If he were trying to sell frames though I would think he wouldn't go around saying the RF97 is a frame nobody should use? I have never been to his shop in NYC--is it like a typical pro shop with merch etc or does he just sell his expertise and service as a...

Djoker's Racket tech/adviser on all things pro/rec, you shouldn't use the RF :)

His comments on Stanimal's frame don't seem to be correct. He says Stan plays with the 330g version of the frame Tiafoe uses while all of us racquet-holics here know the real truth. Cool interview though.

That's interesting.....I found the Gel Resolutions to be the most cushioned tennis shoe for me and they have saved my joints. Different strokes I guess. I have a pair of the gel resolution in cool black/white colorway with Djoko's stamp on the back. I'm going to keep them un-used because of...

    Ezone 98 opinions

A lot of guys I play with are married to full poly. I don't know if it is some badge of manhood or if they haven't done their research on what strings are available to them. One guy won't even consider poly that is not Luxilon and he'll keep the same Lux stringjob for about 6 months before...

New Yonex Vcore (for 2020 or 2021 ?)

Thanks for the feedback (no pun intended). Did you playtest any of the ezone 2018? I've read that they are stiffer throughout the hoop and provide a firmer response. For some yonex fans, it is a negative, but I've read some here find it a positive.

I had the first version of the Ultra tour and that thing had a small but extremely hot hot spot. If you hit it, it was like Thor's hammer coming down on the ball.
