    I Want A 120 MPH Serve

I don't think there are any 120 mph servers at our club. There is a fireballer but I measured his serve with the Ball Coach https://www.pocketradar.com/products/ball-coach-radar standing behind him and he hit 106. Entirely possible I didn't radar his fastest serves. And no I don't say how...

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Nope I'm using a Wilson Ultra XP 100S. It's sort of like a Babolat Aero but super stiff but 16 x 15 so the string bed is softer I do love those 85-93 frames 19 mm beam frames though!! I haven't tried Kev/ZX on those but I will Cheers

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

me. 35 lbs Kev/ZX. So far my fave string combo. Lots of spin, zero arm or elbow pain, good power with the ZX

Yep got the MC 95 and 110. Both fun sticks. Haven't strung with Kev/ZX yet though
  9. v-verb

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

And I use it strung at 35 lbs Kev/ 35 lbs ZX. And it WORKS beautifully for me. Spin, control, decent power. But it's not for everybody and that's fine. It doesn't hurt my sensitive arm, shoulder, wrist. I do hit pretty hard and serve in the high 80's - mid 90's So USPTARF97 tried it and...

    Timeline for racquet-caused injury

Sorry I misunderstood. I bought some used racquets and played with one that had old poly at about 60 lbs. Took me all of 2 hours to wreck my wrist, shoulder and elbow.

    Timeline for racquet-caused injury

Tough question. Took me over 6 months, lowered my tension permanently from 60ish lbs to 40ish lbs max. Once I discovered the Flexbar and used it 3 weeks later I was up to 95% of normal. So...it could take months

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

BTW I had a good session Saturday. Although I've not fully recovered from my shoulder injury (I would say 95% recovered) I hit a 95 mph serve and several others above 90mph. That's my 3rd fastest recorded serve. The others were 98 mph 2 summers ago and 96 6 months ago. And it was hit with...

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

I got 5 1/2 sets from TW of Ash Kev 18 - $5 each - while I was waiting for my 110 M reel of Ash Kev 18 from the UK (took slightly over a month) At that price 1/2 sets are a darn good deal I think

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Thanks could be Shroud, although it's still snapping back I think . Could be just me being sloppy. And I'm the same way on the launching. I changed my forehand stroke per my coach and it can fly on me. But when it works watch out - tons of pop and spin Talk soon

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Thanks my friend! LOL Haloween stick is a good description of it Interesting on the high tension Kevlar. Odd thing, the first day I used it I was hitting unbelievable shots! Even since just merely really good. Is it possible that the spin decreases somehow after the first 3-4 hours?

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

LOL Shroud I did ask if you wanted extra $$ but you didn't answer. (I still have the emails somewhere) anyhow I still use the stick I got from you. Love it! And low poly or kevlar is the only way I can use the Profile. Otherwise for me the ball launches like crazy

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

2.7 Profile. honestly it's fun. With the low tension you can get some serious spin as well. Just have to watch the ball like a hawk or it will be shank city with the thick beam.

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

If you want to have some serious fun - not as a usual stick but as an experiment - string up an Wilson Profile 110 (16/18 pattern) with Kev/ZX at 30 lbs. You will get some serious power and solid groundstrokes and volleys. Also serves if you can get some RHS going. Profiles aren't pricey at...

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Same here - that's why I'm stuck at 95 mph and can't hit the hundy. I shall practice 2nd Serve Ace's advice Oddly enough I've taken a hiatus from my 13-14 ounce frames and am hitting a Wilson Ultra XP 100S - 10.7 oz strung. I can hit a tad faster with the Ultra XP 100LS 9.9 oz strung. The...

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Wow guys I love Ash Kev 18 and ZX 17 at 35 lbs. It's wonderful hitting out and it will be my main setup. 10 hrs and zero discomfort. Hitting hard. One size doesn't fit all - no need to argue

    Is this racket legit?

If you don't use natural gut, I would recommend a full bed of Ashaway MonoGut ZX Pro 17(make sure it's ZX). I have a Prestige Classic with a full bed of red ZX and it's a lovely hit. Otherwise a soft thin multi string would work. Enjoy that beautiful frame

Wow! Love those Prestige Pros. Put some nice string in it and enjoy. A beautiful buttery hitting experience. I have one of those and several other variations

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Thanks - a bit of a strange beast. Wilson Ultra XP 100S. 16 x 15 pattern which naturally softens the string response. I much prefer classic type racquets like the POGs, Head Prestiges and Wilson PS 85 and 88. However for matches the Ultra XP 100S (and 100LS) works well for me Cool stuff...

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Ok 2 hours of hard singles and practice today. Ashaway Kevlar 18 mains at 35 lbs. Ashaway monoGut ZX Pro 17 at 35 lbs. Spin was excellent - not sure if as much as Diadem Elite 18 but tons of spin. I was hammering shots I would never land with poly/ZX or poly/poly. Directional control was...

I'll report back if I experience any problems with the Ashaway Kevlar 18/Monogut ZX 17 at 40 lbs/40lbs. So far so good for the last several weeks I have had wrist, elbow and shoulders issues with straght poly at 50 lbs and above

    In praise of Kevlar/ZX hybrid!!!

Hey ashridge The Kevlar was extremely stable and still had snapback due to the ZX. Spin was almost equal to using Diadem Elite 18 mains which to me has the best spin including Tourbite and Cyclone 19. My strokes look flattish but I'm getting between 1600-2600 RPM per my Zepp 2 on my forehand...
