This design can’t be more lazy. Nike tennis is dead.

Frames with a high sweetspot - is this even a thing?

It sounds wacky but painting a bullseye on your string bed works. You’re concentrating on the ball, but in the moment that you make contact, you’ll be able to see for a split second where you hit the string bed. In principle it’s the same idea as how the FT Saber works.

Frames with a high sweetspot - is this even a thing?

Most folks don’t stencil their racquets though

Frames with a high sweetspot - is this even a thing?

Easy way to find the sweet spot. Color the entire racquet face on both sides. The location will be the most faded spot, assuming a player is mostly striking the sweet spot. Once you know the sweet spot, color it red to train your eyes to hit it consistently.

Frames with a high sweetspot - is this even a thing?

I think the hand would affect the actual COP, but not as severely as some would think it does. You’re holding the racquet pretty loosely when you hit with proper technique. That is to say, the weight of the hand is not firmly attached to the racquet. I’ve definitely experienced racquets with...

Frames with a high sweetspot - is this even a thing?

Yes it is a thing. The sweet spot is actually a point called the center of percussion. It exists for other sporting equipment too, like baseball bats. It’s dependent on how mass is distributed along the long axis of the racquet. If you have more mass near the tip, that tends to push the sweet...

    Best Head Radical MP line?

The MP was never retro’d by Head. It was the OS version that was reissued, which made sense, given that Agassi used it.

    Best Head Radical MP line?

The Microgel MP was highly esteemed among Radical lovers on this forum, and you can still find them in good condition. Personally, my favorite is the original Radical MP, aka Bumblebee, but that’s even older than your iRadical. On another note, while Head reported a 98 sq in Head for many years...

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

If it’s $300, I’ll def still buy but will wait or buy used  Inflation is crazy and probably won’t slow down anytime soon …

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

Really hoping the updated line and the GT98 will be full gloss for retail. I've been reducing my collection, but if it's glossy like what was shown recently, I won't hesitate to buy one regardless of how it plays.

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

Thanks for the detailed thoughts. Sounds like it could be the tear drop head shape just making the racquet feel different cutting through the air. Would be interested to know the specs of your stick …

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

I find all reported experiences of weight distribution intriguing. Because technically it should be impossible to feel where the weight is exactly concentrated across the beam. When you hold a racquet statically in a horizontal position, or any stick for that matter, you’ll feel a moment or...

    Furi Arma Pro 98

Going to do some free advertising for Furi, because the AP98 is a fantastic racquet that's overlooked. I still have a pair that I won't part with, even though it's not my main racquet any longer. 30% off on their site now.

V14 the end of pro staff?

Those who grew up in the 90s remember a number of non-box-beam “Pro Staff” models that weren’t particularly like Pro Staffs. The line can evolve; the name will live on.

What are your favorite racket cosmetics of all-time?

I actually love the cosmetic of the VCore Pro line before it became Percept. The throwback to early 90s tennis style was dope, and green combined with purple is [insert Chef’s kiss emoji]. Too bad I never liked Yonex Isometric head shape. Best ever for me has to go to the PC600, and by direct...

New frames similar to Pure Storm?

IMO the Strikes were all big deviations from the Pure Storm and Pure Control models. There’s nothing wrong with Strikes; they’re easy to play with and quite powerful for control sticks, but I don’t like how muted they are. If feel is a priority, I’d look elsewhere.

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

I like it much better than the previous text of Auxetic 1. The design element I think is dumb is the bumpy racquet where the specs are written on the inside of the throat.. Redundant and cheesy. Hoping the retail version won’t have that.

    Head Prestige 2023

NIshesh Basavareddy uses a Prestige. He's not a household name yet, but he's young and have been climbing the ranks at a rapid pace, while earning a degree in data science at Stanford. Once he devotes all his attention to tennis, I think he has real potential to break out and become a star.

I’m wondering if individual grommets would work. Found some on the large rain forest site. Might also help reduce racquet weight. I can use head tape in place of the bumper.

Btw, I need a new set of grommets for the PSC 16x18. I couldn’t find a set for the life of me. Help! Edit: Didn’t realize how rare these grommets are. I should have done some research before pulling out the old ones.
