What a total mess this thread has become. There's nothing 'wrong' with Fed skipping RG, even more, it was to be expected. It has NOTHING whatsoever to do with 'avoiding Nadal', or any other player for this matter, but merely a case of proper scheduling at the age of - bloody - 35 and pushing it...

Perhaps it's time for you to not throw all of any fans of whatever a player in the same bracket? Whenever a player manages to get a win over an ATG, congrats and well-done. Pretty sure quite a few Fed fans congratulated Thiem with those victories.

I tend to agree with this. I get this feeling that Murray should have taken some time off, perhaps even the entire clay season if not 100% okay - if only not to hurt his chances for Wimbledon where he's the defending champ after all. Muzziah, I know it hurts, but perhaps skip RG?
