Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Thread

I have been VERY pleased with this racquet, coming from the Yonex SV100 and SV98. I also demod a LOT of frames before settling on this one. I started with full poly (Hyper G) at about 48lbs and it was too springy. It’s about perfect with Weiss Canon Ultra Cable 17 (or Fire Stroke 17) at 55/53...

Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Thread

I have to agree. I didn't think I would like this racquet. I also think it's ugly so I was hoping I wouldn't like it either. But, it's damn good. I have been swinging with the Yonex SV100 and SV98 for the past year and a half and as my strokes are slowly developing I have been wanting something...

    Racquet after DR98 ...?

If you want (slightly) more spin and power, try the Vcore SV98. It will also have a slightly less muted feel which I like. The Vcore Pro 330 (despite its heavier weight) does not feel nearly as heavy when swinging as I would have thought. Plays great. If it's too heavy then try the 310. I think...

    Contoured Grips- Feel the groove

I was hoping to get a discussion going about contoured grips. Until recently I had just used basic replacement grips. A couple months ago, I tried the Gamma Hi Tech Gel Contour grip and liked some things about it. First, the grip goes from being mostly smooth (besides the bevels) to having very...

Weiss Cannon Red Ghost - great poly

Wow, that seems pretty low, but if it is working for you, that's great. I had my SV100's done as 53 mains/50 crosses and the SV98 done with the full bed at 50. I may go just a tick higher next time on the SV100's...maybe 55/52. But the 50 in the SV98 is definitely not a rocket launcher yet...

    Solinco Hyper G

Agreed on the playability. For me, Ultracable lost tension far too quickly as well- that's a good point. I find the Red Ghost to be the best of the 3, but would probably explore a different option if less power is a requirement.

    Solinco Hyper G

If you want a little less power than the Hyper G, try the Weiss Cannon Ultracable. Has excellent spin and slightly less power than the Hyper G. The WC Red Ghost is more comfortable than both, with almost as much spin and just a touch more pop.

Weiss Cannon Red Ghost - great poly

Is anyone else using this string? I've used it now on (2) SV100's and an SV98 and I must say, it is a great poly. Very comfortable, plenty of power and spin. Less bite on the ball as compared to Ultracable and just a little less than Hyper G, but more comfortable then both, better tension...

    Yonex VCORE SV

I'm now about 3.5 months in to using the SV100. This is an excellent frame. It shares similarities to the Babolat Pure Drive but is a superior frame in about every way in my opinion. I find it to provide the easy power and spin that the PD delivers, but with better feel and more comfort. The...

    Yonex Ezone DR CLUB!!!!~~~!!!

I just grabbed one too- DR98 285 version- so I could add lead where I wanted to get a little lower static weight than the standard version. Pretty nice so far, but not as crisp as my SV100. I'll have to add a little more weight and see what I come up with.

    Yonex VCORE SV

Should also note, My SV100 is strung up with Solinco Hyper G 16 at 52lbs. It's starting to get springy though now so time to switch it up. I'll try a multi in it next which may be a little lighter as well so that may help with the balance (along with a little tungsten putty in the handle). I'm...

    Comparing a Volkl V-Sense V1 Pro and Volkl V-Sense 8 (300g) ?

The V1pro feels a little more solid and stable and the VSense 8-300 is a little more headlight and maneuverable. Both impart a good amount of spin. I prefer the VS8-300 of the 2 with the right strings.

    Yonex VCORE SV

It's a nice frame. I'd prefer it to be a little more HL, but overall a very nice one. I've been hitting with it for a couple of months. It is more comfortable than I would have thought for its stiffness, but not as plush of a feel as the DR98/DR100. The sweetspot is very generous on the SV100...

How do you decide if a racquet is "too powerful"?

If you like the feel of the VSense 8 you will like the VSense 10. I demoed that one and it was very nice- I loved the balance too. It was just a touch too heavy and a touch too under powered for me but sounds like a really good fit for you. Definitely take one out for a swing.

How do you decide if a racquet is "too powerful"?

I'm not even a big hitter and I thought the 8-300 and 8-315 were both pretty powerful. Demo the VSense 10-325 as it sounds like that one may be right up your alley.

    Yonex VCore SV club

So after a couple of weeks, I am definitely enjoying the SV100. It has very nice power and spin and feels fairly stable at the net for me. My only drawback right now is on serve. The balance isn't as headlight as my previous frame and the static weight and swing weight are a little bit heavier...

    Demo racquet vs picking spec

I felt like the Pure Strike 98 (PO7) was a tad whipper feeling than the V1pro and maybe a tick less power (string dependent). It also felt a little more stable. That might be a good frame to check out. It's also more comfortable than the Pure Drive series. Another great option is the Yonex Ezone...

    Yonex VCore SV club

Just got my SV100 strung with Hyper G 16. Not sure if I'll get to hit with it this week- may not be until next week. My demo was with Wilson Sensation and it still had a good amount of spin so I'm curious to see what the Hyper G will do in it. I will say this though- I think they are one of the...

    Demo racquet vs picking spec

Has he hit with your V1pro? What are his thoughts on that frame? For me, that was a very nice frame but I just preferred the feel and larger sweet spot of the Yonex VCore SV100. It has a little more stability too. Same goes for the Pure Strike 98 (ProjectOne7)- it's a very nice frame but I found...

    Yonex VCore SV club

I haven't seen that much posted about the VCore SV racquets so I figured this could be a spot for users of the VCore SV series racquets to discuss these frames, strings and modifications, etc. After demoing a multitude of frames, I finally settled on the VCore SV100. I prefer a little more...

    Yonex SV100 - experiences?

I know it's been a bit since your OP, but I have hit with this a few times over the last 2 weeks. I really enjoy it and decided to pull the trigger and buy one. I think this is actually underrated based on the TW playtesters reviews. This feels to me like a slightly softer Pure Drive (meaning...

    Yonex VCore SV100 vs SV98

Since I didn't have the SV98 to demo here I decided to just give the SV100 a try. I can always add a little putty/lead in the handle to make it slightly more head light. Got to play with it again Thursday and today and I'm really liking it. It isn't nearly as stiff as I was expecting based on...

    Wilson Racquet prices!

They should be lower given those horribly hideous paintjobs.

    Yonex VCore SV100 vs SV98

Both racquets are listed as Low-Medium powered. But looking at the specs I see the SV98 has one additional cross string, slightly less stiffness and a thinner beam (along with a little higher static weight and swingweight) which to me would make sense that it would be a good drop in power...

    Yonex VCore SV100 vs SV98

Can anyone with some experience with these racquets give me a good comparison of the two? Specifically, the power level difference between the two and the weight/balance overall and spin potential? I have been demoing several racquets recently and liked the DR98 as well, but it felt just a...

    DR98 vs new SV98

Does the SV98 actually feel lighter and quicker through the air than the DR98? Is the (slightly) lower SW noticeable in maneuverability? I like the DR98 but it feels slightly heavier to me than the specs would suggest. If the SV98 feels a little lighter but also provides a bit more spin and...

    Low Powered, Head-Light, Arm-Friendly Rackets?

I like the suggestion of the Yonex VCore Duel G 97 (It is a 16x20 though). Also the Volkl VSense 10-325 would be a great choice.

    Volkl advisory thread.

I have the VSense 8-300 and 8-315 out on demo right now along with the Yonex Ezone DR98 and SV100. Oh and have also been hitting a bit with the VSense 9 which doesn't seem to get any talk here. That's an interesting one too. Has a nice head light balance but with a swingweight feel that is in...

    Sport sunglases

G20 is the name of the color. They are like a light rose tint. Yes, I've also tried the Prizm lenses. In fact, I have a set of those as well. Prizm lenses like many of the other colors they do have lighter and darker areas in them due to the coloring on the exterior of the lens for style...

I also use Oakley Half Jackets. The key with Oakleys is which lens you choose. I have owned may pairs and many different lenses over the years. I would HIGHLY recommend trying the G20 Iridium lens. I haven't found a better all around lens from any manufacturer yet. They are lighter in color and...
