Have you tried Tennis Warehouse in Melbourne? They're pretty good with spare parts for different machines? You could probably just overwrap it with several (lots!) of turns of plumber's teflon tape if it's not too worn. Not a permanent solution by any means but if you're only stringing...

Were you using a sanding block or some sort of firm backing? Id recommend spraying the handle with a rattle can before sanding to keep track of high or low spots.

Blade 100 for flatter hitters. Shift 99 300 for spin aficionados. I use blade 100 when conditions are damp and balls get heavy but generally have more fun with the Shift.
