    RF 01 series

PS X, to me is the best mainstream stick I demoed this summer to replace my old stuff from the '80. It has a classic feel on the ball but with all the advantages of a modern racquet. A lot of power, scalpel precision, large sweet spot. Kind of PS on steroids. What only was impossible to solve...

Looking to switch from Prestige Pro and Pro Staff Six-one 95

PS X can't be a wrong choice. If you like Pro Staffs, you probaly won't like Babolats. They are really like apples and oranges. To have an alternative from a different brand, you could check the Percept line.

Poli degradation is fast, in general. Polis lose their elasticity way before breaking. Pick up a good multi. Or natgut if you can afford it.

Tennis Elbow When Switching to Dunlop SX300 Tour 16x19 from Blade Pro 98 v8 18x20

C10 Pro and natgut. C10 Pro has a very very special vibration absorption system. It's a kind of holy Graal for TE.

IDK about TC 100, but on TC 101 the sweet spot is really large. Very surprising.

Need some help, struggling to find a good stick

I have 24 mains 23 cross multi. I'm a former S&V but I play now all court. I can also grid from the baseline. Quite complete player, just a bit too old since I'm on the wrong side of life.

Need some help, struggling to find a good stick

If you partially like PS X, you hardly will like Babolats. They are too stiff and have an high launch angle. And yes, TE is frequently an issue with them. In general to avoid TE is better to use heavy frames and multi. Light stiff frames + poli is the perfect equation for a TE disaster.

Try a good multi at an average tension. Just to feel the huge difference. The touch will drastically improve.

Need some help, struggling to find a good stick

Just take a video of McEnroe playing from baseline. I think he plays all possible forehand strokes with the same grip, I mean slice, top spin. Basically a continental grip if I'm correct. And turning the wrist. It's such a personal thing... So hilarious Federer's reply. It's the same for me...

    Volkl QC

C10 Pro 25th anniversary. I have 2 of them in L5. The first one is 333g. The other one, still unused with its plastic & paper cover of the handle and the small elastics for the carton is 337g. I guess once naked down it should be some 335g. 2g difference, thus a pretty good quality. I think that...

Need some help, struggling to find a good stick

Practice more with PS X. It's a scalpel and has lot of power. Eventually move to a multi setup to enhance feeling (and power). The overall performance is always 50% the stick and 50% the strings. And of course if money is on the table and the search for "ooomph" a dire need, test natgut either...

Help me decide on a racquet. Pro Staff V14 vs RF 01 Pro (or any other).

More surface = more trampoline effect of the strings. Larger headsize gives more free power at the cost of precision. But the two things are not necessarily exactly inversely proportional. It depends on the specific frame,

V14 the end of pro staff?

Yes. Try it and step out of the clichés.

You should also take a look at Angell TC 101. It's also quite Pro Staff-ish with the premium of an oversize.

Blade V9 vs Pro staff v14

With the blade even if I perfectly hit in the sweetspot I constantly get the sensation to have only, let say 70% of the control. It's simply too wobbly. But I confess, I'm an old styled player, mostly hitting flat. Perhaps for spinners the sensation is different.

V14 the end of pro staff?

Just this "PS is hard to play cliché" probably spread with the hidden help of other producers/competitors, is hard to beat.

V14 the end of pro staff?

The PS X is perhaps the best Wilson racquet in a decade. It's here to stay. It's the reason why PS line will stay. Several teenagers in our club are moving to PS X.

Blade V9 vs Pro staff v14

Exactly that. And between Blade and PS97 v14 the winner is... PS X in my opinion.

Help me decide on a racquet. Pro Staff V14 vs RF 01 Pro (or any other).

PS X can't be a wrong decision. Don't believe the PS clichés, it's a great stick. A large sweet spot, good precision, a lot of power and this nice aramid fiber touch. Way way way better than the Blade, IMHO; the control is on another planet. My son has honeymoon with PS X and ordered a second...

I have one Ultra Kevlar. I added a ton of lead because it was way too head light. But I bought it somewhen around 1988 89, IIRC.

Slow Chat: Just some thoughts about racquets.

Yes, that's the point. You always have to consider not only your requirements but also what your opponents do. I'm playing tennis since 1978 approx. I went through wood, aluminium, T-2000 steel and carbon. All of this in my first 13y of tennis. And I found my honeypot with Wilson Sting Midsize...

TC 101 update I have really an honeymoon on that stick. Powerful as hell and, at the same time, precise like a scalpel. It makes me feel younger playing with my son. I just ordered a second one. 320g/31mm p10HL
