    ACAPULCO final ANDERSON vs. DIMITROV

Lord, Anderson just looks like an amazing athlete. Like an Isner that can bend his legs. I hope he wins one or two 1000's in his career.

    Moving away from Gut/Poly

JT, what is your favorite kevlar for the main? I know of another particularly hilarious thread with two users arguing to the death about whether or not kevlar holds tension better than polyester. I think the conclusion is that there is a large initial tension loss for many kevlar strings but...

    Moving away from Gut/Poly

Then I would reaffirm my initial advice before giving up on natural gut. Also, just try swinging harder. It's important to get that huge spin to bring the ball back down into the court. A lot of people think this is a joke but it's totally not.

    Moving away from Gut/Poly

Fair enough; the OP didn't mention cost/reward, so I wasn't addressing that. Also, I use the prestige classic, which is ultra-conservative, so spin production is a little more gear-related for me than it is for most.

    Moving away from Gut/Poly

Take it from the Fed. In a gut/polyester hybrid try stringing the polyester 4-6 lbs. lower than the *gut. I would try 59/55. If you're still booming them out from there, then try 61/57. If you're still booming them out then get a bigger court.

    Benefits of Kevlar Strings Today?

Because I'm wondering if people have had any experience with incorrectly sized gut strings.

    Benefits of Kevlar Strings Today?

I have another question: why does Federer use ALU Rough as a cross? Any specific reason? I would think there would be something that accomplishes stiffness and low friction better than that string does.

    Benefits of Kevlar Strings Today?

Buddy, don't get your panties in a bunch. I would think it more likely that it is actually correct and Pacific screwed up. After all, there must be certain accepted tolerances when working with animal fibers.

    Benefits of Kevlar Strings Today?

Ok my question is, why on that link is pacific tough gut 16 1.26mm and 16L 1.28mm?? Seriously?

    Benefits of Kevlar Strings Today?

You guys are like a married couple. It seems like kevlar isn't as crazy as everyone says (I have never used it). At the same time, what do I want with Tecnifibre Promix (best tension holding polyester from the list)?? Truth is, a bunch of kevlars are in the 11-13 lb. loss range, so one who...

    What is velocity?

You could demolish an easy overhead that barely dropped into your side of the court 4 feet back into the opponent's court at 180mph, but then he could just walk up and smack it back.... The offensive aspects of tennis are the energy you impart upon the ball (spin and speed) and the direction you...

    String Pattern and String Options

Why would they write titanium, gel, shock, t-force x5000, etc. on the sides of racquets? Follow the mooooney! Also, when can I expect to see shaped gut?

    String Pattern and String Options

I don't think I understand what you're asking. What do you mean less room to move? The main strings will always move together, so it doesn't really matter how much "room" there in the racquet face. Open patterns just tend to produce more spin because they can sink deeper into the ball during...

Polyester hybrids, what have you tried?

I want to try Kirschbaum Spiky Shark as a main and I'm looking for a cross. Should I just go with the standard Co-Focus, which it seems is highly touted as a cross string. Currently I have Co-Focus 18; is it better to have thinner main or cross or does it not matter? Thanks.

RIO SF Rafael Nadal vs. Pablo Andujar-Alba

Also, Andujar knows how to put the ball back deep AND high when he's in trouble, especially on the backhand side. Helped him get the break chances that he didn't convert on earlier in the set.

RIO SF Rafael Nadal vs. Pablo Andujar-Alba

Oh? No match is over when you're cranking return winners with such frequency. Nadal's serve looks SO WEAK. He's left handed... I thought that was supposed to be some sort of advantage.

    Mikeler's Polys

Thank you, but I'm mainly looking for hybrid information. I have a prestige classic, and I'm trying to obtain more spin (I've been using full spiky shark 17). Right now someone is stringing it with CoF 18 in the crosses and spiky shark in the mains. I'm trying to resist going to the gut/poly...

    Mikeler's Polys

Did you hybrid or was it full black shark?

    Mikeler's Polys

Has anyone tried Spiky Shark (or Black Shark, I hear they're VERY similar if not the same) in an all-polyester hybrid?

Co-Focus or Poly Plasma as cross string for Spiky Shark?

Also the co focus and poly plasma are 1.18mm, while the spiky shark is 1.25mm. Would that be a problem? I've never had arm pain, so I forget what made me buy the thinner gauges, but what kind of difference would a 1.23 co focus or poly plasma have as a cross? Anything other than stiffness? I'm...

What is your favorite racquet that has come out in the last two years?

I forgot to mention I've had my eye on the volkl power bridge 10 mid (93 sq. in.) for a while, so any specific advice about this racquet would be greatly appreciated.

What is your favorite racquet that has come out in the last two years?

A simple question really. I'm only 20 but. Play with the prestige classic. I tried a used yonex rd ti 70 long a few days ago and it literally snapped on me mid-approach shot. Granted, I picked it up for $35.... But still, second-hand racquets (and third- and fourth-) can be annoying to purchase...

okay, so my swing weight has actually increased by about 8? how do I know the first was correct, though?

Added lead at 12, swingweight unaffected??

Hi all. I just added about 2 grams of lead tape at 12 o'clock on my prestige classic 600. Using the TW swing weight calculator, though, supposedly my swing weight has only gone up from about 320 to about 322.... I thought that adding even just one gram at 12 was supposed to increase swing weight...

Differences between racquets in the RD Ti Yonex line

So your saying material differences are basically nonexistant and the only differences are ones that can be seen with the naked eye?

Differences between racquets in the RD Ti Yonex line

I mainly want to know if there's a big difference between the 70 and 80 (and what it is) but information about the other iterations would also be appreciated. Also preferences are appreciated. Thanks.
