Head Prestige Classic 2.0 Users Club

My experience has been that natural gut far outlasts anything else that I have tried and the feel is far, far superior. I may change racquets but I don't see a time where I would ever give up using natural gut. My main racquets are an original Prestige pro, PT280/630 and sometimes a C10 Pro

    Grommets for Head PT 630/280

Yes Steveq81, I would be interested in those grommets. THX Grafil, I only see TK238A which is a 16x19 grommet. Is that what you saw?

    Grommets for Head PT 630/280

esgee48, I will remember that. Good advice.... Grafil, You are correct racquet depot had the grommets. But when I searched them out many players said the tk293 was of very poor quality. VSbabolat called them crap with several others agreeing with him. One guy said his didn't last a month...

    Grommets for Head PT 630/280

No such luck. There is no Pro Tour 2.0 listed. I have searched the "similar threads" with no luck. The search function on this site doesn't work very well. It always takes me way back in the past which is usually not helpful.

    Grommets for Head PT 630/280

I've looked through the TW grommet list and even talked to them by email with no success. What grommet currently listed on TW will fit the PT 630/280? Both cap and traditional? I inquired which one was the TK238 but they couldn't tell me. Are the current TW grommets of sufficient quality or...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

10shoe, I guess I should find a more appropriate racquet. ;) It's a 6 point. How did I do? cks and tjanev, I have several racquets I would like to string now so I hope I get the hang of this thing fairly quickly. I probably won't time myself because it will likely take me 4 hours. Irvin, i'm...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

CKS, 2.5 hours on the first string job? That's intimidating. I'm glad you said it gets faster. I do have some expendable racquets. I plan to use cheap string and first up is an old Head Comp Pro. I may string it up then cut it out and start over again....a few times. Vokazu, It looks like I do...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

10shoe, Good advice. I plan to follow it exactly. I'm going to take very small steps and hopefully I won't have a "barely used" stringer for sale any time soon. THX

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

Yes, I acquired a Gamma 6004. I have it all put together but so far I just admire it from afar. I have been busy but I hope to start my stringing journey in the next few days. I will let you guys know how it goes.

    Volkl C10 Pro questions

I also have elbow issues but not with this racquet. That's is why I acquired one in the first place. I love comfort. I have two original fish scales, a yellow 2010 and a couple of 2019s. I have been using the C10 Pro for a good while and I can't say enough good things about it. It may be a...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

I couldn't agree more. I lost my good stringer and the place I have been using doesn't appear to be what I need although I think they try. I don't know of anyone else at the moment. I think the answer is what you suggest...start stringing myself.

You sure may be right. I don't mind replacing the grommets if they need it.

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

I never said that "I can only and must play with antiques". On the other hand, should I not be allowed to play with any racquet I choose? What concessions should I make for the 20 year old stringer that finds it difficult to get a string through a hole?

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

10shoe What you say makes very good sense to me so I may upgrade my grommets as my racquets need their strings changed. I don't see myself giving up natural gut in the near future. In comparison I don't prefer the multi that replaced my gut. Its not terrible but just doesn't feel nearly as good...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

It is the 600 and not the 660. I have read a couple of reviews on the 2.0 that found it harsher feeling than the originals although most seem to like it. That original feel is what I like most about these old racquets. I have six PT10s from the 90s and really like them all so I'm not looking for...

Best items you found at thrift stores (Goodwill)?

I just measured my 87 Club Pro and it came in at 367g with leather, an overgrip, and dampener. I just had it restrung and took it out this morning to hit with a ball machine. The racquet is so flexible it really feels good and is easy to put the balls where you want them. Of course, this thing...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

I learned a lot from reading the above posts. I suspect it is partly inexperience on the part of the stringer as has been suggested, (as well as a hard racquet to string with gut). It is a public tennis club and they have 3 different young guys that are the stringers. They have been very nice...

The stringer had some problems stringing my racquet

I recently acquired a 1993 Head Trisis 300 and had it in for restringing with VS Babolat natural gut. The racquet has the original cap grommets. The stringer called me and said that when he was trying to tie it off the last knot but the gut is so soft and the hole so tight he just couldn't get...

So, was there a difference between the Club Pro and Team Pro racquets or was it just marketing? How is the Comp Pro different from these racquets?

Best items you found at thrift stores (Goodwill)?

The 1987 Club Pro was my first tennis racquet. Of course, I let it go many years ago but recently I acquired another one and threw it in the closet with no real plans for it. A few weeks ago I took it with me to hit some balls and was impressed by how flexible it was and how good it felt with...

How to clean a ball machine

I use an air compressor after every use. It just takes a couple of minutes and lots of yellow ball fuzz comes out. An air compressor does a nice job of cleaning my ball machine.

    Head Prestige Tour 300 mid

I didn't know it was the same racquet as the PT600. I am familiar with that racquet. I have a couple of them so I should enjoy the 300mid. I hope so. I have two coming my way. I appreciate the replies.

    Head Prestige Tour 300 mid

What can anyone tell me about this racquet? I'm familiar with some of the early Head racquets but I don't know this one. It says Trisys System 300 on the frame so how is it different from the 280/630 or 260 Trisys racquets? What was the racquet called in its European release?

Anyone still using the Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 85?

I have five of them. Two reissues, two ST. Vincents and a Chicago. I still use them quite a bit. They are such great feeling/playing racquets.
