    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

Interesting, thanks for the clarification, I'll give it a go. Might as well take the 325 version out as well out of interest.

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

I'm a little confused thoug guys - how can the 295g Volkl compare to the 335g BLX? I'd have thought the lightness would mean not a whole lot of power and very little stability?

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

In what way ATP100? I'd have thought that playing with a heavy (weight and swingweight), stiff racquet when your shoulder doesn't have the strength to cope would make you more prone to damage. Or is it the requirement to try and "force" pace out of a lighter racquet that you're referring to?

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

Thanks Fuzz, lots of good info here. I, like you, struggle with lighter racquets - before the BLX 95 I'd used the Pro Staff Classic 6.1 for 10 years so very much used to that type of frame. I don't want to change, but if my shoulder stays weak, I'll have to! Briefly demoed the BLX Blade 98 at...

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

Super advice guys, thanks very much. A good few racquets for me to get on demoing! Cheers all.

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

Thanks guys, very helpful. The Blade 98 certainly seems like a good one to try out, and I'm happy to give the Team series a bash too. Keep 'em coming if anyone has any other ideas outside the box! Haven't used a yonex since the RD7, but I hear they've made some good ones recently.

    Recommendation sought for lighter racket!

Greetings all! I'm currently using the Wilson BLX 95 16x18 having previously used the Pro staff classic 6.1 for years. I love the BLX, except when I'm not playing well or when I get a bit tired in a 3rd set. Having had shoulder problems incl. tendonitis, I'm considering shifting to a lighter...

Shoe recommendation sought - alternative to old Vapor!

Thanks Area 420, that's very helpful, I'll try the 3.3s on with my orthotics and see how they go. Mjl78 - thanks also, but I'm a rather small 8.5!

Shoe recommendation sought - alternative to old Vapor!

Hello all! I'm coming to the end of my stock of Air Vapor Vs for which I've never been able to find a decent replacement. I have quite a lot of supination (i.e, walk on the outside of my foot) so if I don't have a stable, low-to-the-ground shoe I'm always in serious danger of spraining my...

    tecnifibre nrg2. any good?

Agree with CharlieB - I used it with Pro Hurricane Tour and it felt fantastic on my nsix one tour (particularly slicing, great feel). If you play frequently, it's not a problem (it'll break relatively quickly). I was kind of off and on recovering from an injury, wasn't playing that often so I...

Nike advantage vs Vapor VI club vs Vapor V

ac3111 I have the advantages and the vapor V. Yes, the advantages are a cheaper shoe (reflected in the price), basically a kncok-down version of the vapor V. Synthetic, less breathable than the Vapor V and certainly not as comfortable on the cushioning side, but you can always put in a better...

    Nike air Vapor V query

Hello all. Am clearly a bit behind the times, but had a question on the Vapor V shoe. Has anyone else found that on the outside of the shoe, where the soft leather “strips” with the breathing holes run, the widest strip seems to bend out a little too much? You can almost (not quite) pinch the...

Is a 15 yr old drop-weight still ok?!

sounds good guys, thanks. New clamps it is then. As for the 2 vs 6 point - if I haven't noticed anything on any of my rackets in 15 years, I suspect I'm ok! And yes, Newton's law does still appear to hold :-)

Is a 15 yr old drop-weight still ok?!

Hello all. Am considering buying a new stringing machine (crank) and was just wondering whether I really need it. I only string for myself and my two brothers and it takes me about 35 mins to string a racquet on an old Alpha drop-weight. Have had the machine about 15 years, it’s an old 2-point...

Anyone else finding that most tennis shoes run big? Or is it just me?

I know the feeling sstchur! Tennis shoes I wear an 8.5, running shoes an 8 and dress shoes a 7.5 or even a 7! It's weird....

Nike Air Max Smash stability? vs Cage II/Oscillate/Vapor

Thanks Frankauc - any insights as to height off the ground/stability. Don't think I'll go for them but just so I have all the facts. Bonus if you can compare them to any other Nike shoe.....cheers!

Nike Air Max Smash stability? vs Cage II/Oscillate/Vapor

Thanks for that. Interesting that they're described as "offering plenty of stability".........based on your anecdotal evidence sounds like a complete lie which is disappointing.

Nike Air Max Smash stability? vs Cage II/Oscillate/Vapor

Hello all, need some help! Looking for some stable (Nike) shoes to help end my reliance on the uncomfortable but rock-solid Oscillates. Have tried the New Zoom Advantages, and they’re pretty good (have written a review if anyone's interested), low to the ground and very stable. Anyone know...

    New Nike Air Zoom Advantage

Advantage Review So, my review of the Advantage as promised. I take no responsibility if anyone disagrees after buying the shoe......: 1) Build - Decent-looking shoe, similar to the vapor. Synthetic, not leather, upper, but seems a decent quality synthetic and I don’t get the...

    New Nike Air Zoom Advantage

Given how old the last reply is, I suspect nobody cares but here goes. Yes, the Advantage looks very similar to the Vapor, synthetic upper so not the most breathable (but more so than the oven which is the Oscillate). Low to the ground, lower than the Vapor I think, pretty narrow fit, length...

Another hybrid advice question! This time Nsix One Tour 90

thanks for the info Kevin. But are you suggesting I keep the PHT in the mains? That's what I'm trying to change really, plus I don't fancy having 2 different poly's in the frame...

Another hybrid advice question! This time Nsix One Tour 90

Hello all. Have been browsing through all the threads and found some excellent info, but just wondering if anyone has any specifics ideas for a potential hybrid mix for my NSix One Tour 90. Was using Pro Hurricane Tour for the whole frame. Some people find it has a dull feel, for a poly I...

UK help! Eagnas 808 vs Gamma Progression vs Gefen 660

Cheers for the info. Think I'm going to steer away from Eagnas, just don't think it's worth the risk in case something goes wrong with it, better off staying with one of the "big-guns" that are likely to give better customer service should the need arise. So my shortlist has now changed - still...

UK help! Eagnas 808 vs Gamma Progression vs Gefen 660

Thanks guys. Checked out both, and although limited reviews comments generally seem positive. However, neither of these seem to be available in the UK (at least that I can find) so doesn't look like either of those will work.

UK help! Eagnas 808 vs Gamma Progression vs Gefen 660

Hello all. I’m looking at purchasing a new machine, and have narrowed it down to 3 – Gamma ST Progression II, Eagnas Smart808 (table top version of the 909) and the Gefen Sports 660. Have found lots of reviews on the Gamma, most of which speak highly. Got in contact with Gefen Sports, a shop...
