    Head Velocity

Hey @BlackMagic I haven’t read this whole thread ... can you summarize for us? LOL ... basically the idea I get is it’s the best string before needing to go poly if you’re not breaking strings. Most popular as a cross substitution for smooth poly if you don’t need durability. holds tension...

    Head Velocity

I was curious what velocity's measurements were at other tensions/speeds/ diameters and decided to run a machine learning model that learns all the TWU data and then comes up with an estimate. So far I've only used it on the "stiffness" rating but could be expanded to other measurements. I'm...

Hi Irvin, yea I'm kind of tentative on enlarging the grommets too. But grommets are cheaper to replace than busted gut strings ...

    Wilson Ultra Tour stringing instructions

Does anyone tie off the starting cross to a cross instead of main at 6TOP when using hybrid? I'm not a stringer but am curious how this is done with this model.

TWU String Performance Database - Changing Values?

FYI, string data does sometimes change depending on how you filter your searches. For example with head velocity 17 if you search only the string you will get 0 values for stretch @ 40 , 51, 62 lbs Do the search again with all strings and you get some numbers that don't make much sense (stretch...

    2020 Prostaff update

That's higher than my racquets strung! L is light version ? 32.5 is the spec 32.5 - 33 is not bad.

    2020 Prostaff update

I hit with a v11 today 4 1/4, it was the smallest 4 1/4 I ever felt. Even had an overgrip. and seem like the black was chipping away. Are prostaff handles different from other wilson racquets and run slightly smaller?

    Head Velocity

    Depending on how you filter/ use the search in the TWU string database velocity's stretch measurements are either N/A or @40: 1.8% @51: 8.5% @62: 6.4% or @40: 2.1 @51: 5.8 @62: 8.5 I've seen it one time @40 : 2.X @51 : 4.5 @60: 4.5 How the hell does that happen ??? Are there any other...

    TWU string Testing procedure questions

I read up on the test method and tried looking around the forum but still have some questions http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/stringtestmethod.php Is there a quantifiable number to what the Fast, Medium, Slow impact speeds are during the test? Regarding : Stabilization loss...

Today was the first time I played with no wrist pain in a month!!!

I was considering getting a radical tour OS to play with during this injury period. The specs are fairly close to your current racquet right now i think.

Today was the first time I played with no wrist pain in a month!!!

Yea it felt like I was hitting a ping pong ball lol. We would need to be able to swing a racquet that's almost twice as heavy to feel like we're hitting an orange dot. Funny enough there was a time when 8oz super light racquets were peddled to consumers, i did hit with it once and every ball...

Let's Gather All Grip Specs (Weight & Thickness) into two threads

This depends on the material - synthetic replacement grips usually have a less dense foam layer that compacts the most. thicker ones usually have more foam. - overgrips are usually made out of some polyurethane similar to the outer layer of a replacement grip and compacts less. 2.1mm...

the orange dot also seemed like a much lighter and softer ball. Are green dots lighter than a normal ball too?

Today was the first time I played with no wrist pain in a month!!!

My friend was taking his daughter to tennis coaching and didn't have any balls with him. I showed up and whacked one of his balls that he was serving and it felt a little strange like hitting air. I picked up the ball and squeezed it and it was super soft an orange dot ball. I've heard of these...

    #5: g4driver :: The Megamind Interview Series

@g4driver Regarding your string setups for player level, I am guessing this is for 16x19 in 95 - 100 head? Would you change the string gauges if they had a very open 16x19 107 head or a very dense 18x20? Also how come there's no setup with natural gut? Is lower strung hdmx just about the same?

New Racquet for a player coming back from retirement

If your current racquet is doing fine for you, you will probably be 95% disappointed from a blind buy IMO. Firstly racquet tech hasn't really changed that much in the last 20 years besides strings. Secondly, your racquet specs are very different from what most people are playing The hammer...

    Twu swing weight calculator

Hahaha i was watching this video a week ago ! Do you hang a piece of tape for the app to register swings for Twist rate ? it bugs me that i have to add a tape but i guess it doesn't affect the readings too much.

    Prince spectrum comp series 90

I'm loving the one i got off one of the TW members. it measures 335 SW, 380g, 30.75 CM balance, but i find it pretty easy to swing with. Does anyone know where the weight is distributed in the lower part of the frame? maybe compared to more modern-day racquets. From my understanding for...

    Twu swing weight calculator

I'm using the swing timer app from the same person that made racquettune. I hang mine from the top cross. Can you take a picture of your setup? i've been thinking what's the best way to mount the racquet on the handle instead of cross strings. Mostly because i haven't found a good way to get...

    Twu swing weight calculator

Looks like we have the same hang distance Which one do you like more ? Heres a swing graph @Irvin By best i mean, the timing error from the app is lowest usually .002 seconds.

    Twu swing weight calculator

@Irvin ok that's interesting.. My best readings with the app is usually right before the swings are too small for it to register. @travlerajm I hang mine about 1 - 2 CM out. I tried it a few times closer to my desk but noticed they were hitting it sometimes.. maybe my desk is much ticker than...

    Racquet grip resizers

3M foam adhesive tape + sandpaper. Put the foam tape on the long side of the pallet flush against the bevel then sand it down the corner. Not every hairpin will work with a head pallet so you better make sure.

    Twu swing weight calculator

@jmnk "mode" meaning I take the number that shows up most often instead of the mean or median. So my last few tests came out 342 340 340 340 339 I use 240 I release the racquet once and take multiple tests without stopping the racquet. Each test on the app takes 16 swings and 1 additional in...

    Twu swing weight calculator

Sorry I was referring to travlerajm and the Ultra Tours we both have. I think your video method is probably more accurate. You can probably calculate your twist weight too .... turn the racquet 90degrees and subtract that number from your SW to get TW.

    Twu swing weight calculator

I'm probably half a count off i'm guessing. Are you saying all your 10swing times are within .01 seconds of each other over the 100 swing period? How are you hanging your racquet and what is the angle you are releasing at? I have mine on 2 screwdriver cylinders, the types they use for glasses...
