Roger Federer had knee surgery today

I know of at least one man that has literally brought Federer to his knees. Marat Safin at the 2005 Australian Open semifinals.

Roger Federer had knee surgery today

Didn't know age was a variable. Just wanted to give you an example of an athlete coming back from a torn meniscus within a month since you said you've never seen an athlete do it. Bennett also had an ACL tear the season prior to the meniscus tear. Unfortunately, he suffered another ACL tear that...

Roger Federer had knee surgery today

He had already torn his ACL the season prior to the meniscus tear. I could see why another ACL tear on top of those injuries would be career ending.

Roger Federer had knee surgery today

Michael Bennett, wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs, suffered a torn meniscus 10/5/2013. He returned to the field of play on 11/2/2013 with 5 catches for 59 yards. Math would suggest returning in under 30 days is possible for a torn meniscus.

    Joining USTA adult league LATE

I have a buddy that didn't know if he would be able to play USTA adult league in Atlanta this summer because his wife was due to give birth at the end of June. However, she had the baby a few weeks early and things have settle down. Does anyone know if it is still possible for him to renew his...

    Ryan Harrison's Wristband

Anyone know if the red/black wristband Ryan Harrison wore at this year's Sony Open is available to the public? It looks like this http://m.zimbio.com/pictures/F2AAU-2drV0/Sony+Ericsson+Open+Day+4/GYq2LcDqDqm/Ryan+Harrison

Can someone with training experience comment please?

What your trainer recommends for your workouts is called a pyramid set scheme. One of the major advantages of pyramid setting is staying strong while engaging in activities that require muscular endurance. My other suggestion for losing weight and increasing endurance during play is getting the...

Is it bad to do cardio and workouts same day?

Your goal is to lose fat and get in overall better shape. While training/working out is important to reaching these goals, an even more important aspect that most people tend to neglect/ignore/hate/don't really give a rat's arse is nutrition and diet. No matter how hard you train, if you don't...

No doubt about it, Tomic will be #1

If I am not mistaken, Tomic went undefeated in Hopman cup singles including a straight set win over the current #1 Dojokivic, but he has yet to beat a current top 10 player in an ATP match.

    Tomic: Roger not assured 3R

This kind of reminds me of the days when ppl were calling the djoker cocky and arrogant early on in his career. I'd say he backed up his attitude. Now can Tomic do the same?

    Tourna Big Hitter Black 7

After two weeks with BHBlack 17, strung at 58lbs main 57lbs crosses on PDR+ cortex, playing 3 hours 4-5 times a week with 4.0 and 4.5 players (they rate me as 4.0 while I rate myself as 4.0 doubles and 3.75 singles with mostly eastern forehand and two handed backhand) First week Power: 9/10...

2011 PD vs 2012 PDR (just got one)

If you think the PDR is powerful, the PDR + is like a cannon. Basically, one needs to string at the higher end of the recommended tension range to control the power, and using copoly strings is the way to go imo.

    Drinking (water/energy drinks) during matches

I usually hydrate before matches (this does not mean chug a ton of water right before a match, more over a span of time). During matches, I periodically drink a sports drink along with water. Basically on every switch over, I take a couple sips of the sports drink followed by a few sips of...

Beginners: Don't be quick to buy a 'pro' racket!

You facetiousness gave me a good chuckle. What you said about "forcing you to muscle the ball" is very true. I had this problem for awhile until I finally wised up and switched to a lighter more powerful racket.

    2012 NCAA Men's Tournamenet - Brackets

Lol, they would misspell the last name of the lone asian player from USC (it's Nguyen not Nyugen). I believe he clinched the national championship for USC in 2011.

While we are on the subject of strings, I will give my two cents. For those of you on a budget, I say give the tourna big hitter black a try if you like co polys. TW has them for $89.95 a reel or $8.95 a pack. String has decent power/control and really great spin (topspin, sidespin & underspin)...

Beginners: Don't be quick to buy a 'pro' racket!

Tennis-warehouse offers a recommended ntrp rating on many of their rackets, which people can use as guidelines when purchasing a racket. All joking and sarcasm aside, if you are a beginner/novice (1.0-3.0), you should probably look for something else before going for the prostaff 85s or tour...

    Starting Clamp Question

If it still slips after you have thoroughly cleaned it, then it might be time to get a new one. I have a gss clamp and have had no problems with it. I usually clean it after about 5 string jobs. The gss clamp is also the one master racket technician, yulitle, recommends and he does not steer you...
