What Yonex Buttcap can I swap onto this and have it fit properly?

Depending on where you live, I'd take it to a local tennis shop that stocks Yonex. I think any of the current Yonex buttcaps would fit, but the shop should have a few examples for you to try.

Danielle Collins calls it quits after 3 set loss to Iga Swiatek in the 2R

Gotta say, I'm getting skeptical about most retirement talk with any pro players under the age of 40. The huge pay, fame and benefits of playing pro tennis are simply too big to be ignored. Injuries and burnout are real, but with the ranking protections both tours offer, why announce a...

    Bright stuff?

Back in the 70's, I bought some discounted red, white and blue tennis clothes (including a tank top) with segmented vivid colors. I thought they looked cool and different. But I recall one of the top players on our college team commented: "We don't allow clowns on court". Ah well, I still love...

Latest techniques and feedback in shoulder replacement surgery

Can you do much lower body work to keep your legs and feet active? After such a major surgery, I wonder what is allowed or recommended for early recovery.

    Bright stuff?

If you look at most men's tennis clothing, you'll find a lot of basic colors: white, black and greys. Nothing wrong with it, it's just what sells. I like colorful stuff as well, but after playing for going on 50 years, I've got a variety of colors in the closet! Wear what you like, unless you...

    Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour

Agreed. I am also a Asics GR fan and have several GR 6-7-8 pair that I rotate through. But the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour 5 fit me well and now I found a pair of the Tour 6 models on sale. I like both brands and models for slightly different reasons.

Lightheaded on Court / When to Quit?

I can only say that as a 4.0 player approaching 70 that I notice my vision begins to change before I start getting lightheaded. This usually happens in hot weather and after 1.5 hours of competitive play. When this happens, I usually stop play, congratulate my opponent(s) and STOP before...

MacEnroe said Tiafoe was winded? These are athletes, right?

Tennis players are human, after all. Tiafoe has never competed at this level before, so it's not surprising he hit the wall in the fifth set of a Majors semi. Just because you're a pro doesn't mean you can't experience a drop in performance at some point.

Shapovalov using the new ezone (paint job)

Maybe Denis found some qualities with the EZone 98 that he liked, but switched to the SV and found he had lost them. Racquets are such individual tools that it's hard to know what he's looking for. I doubt Shapo will give any interviews offering any insight into his insights.

    Formula 1

The 2024 Italian GP was a good example of this question. Ferrari's Charles LeClerc was able to take the hard compound tire and do a two stop race to take the victory. His teammate, Carlos Sainz did his job by racing the McLarens and delaying them enough to allow LeClerc's Ferrari to take the...

    Tiafoe is not good.

Well, Big Foe got beat in straights at the Cincinnati finals, but sure looked like a match against Sinner in the first set. Yes, there are some drawbacks in his game, but Tiafoe had some great shots that he can string together. On any given day, he can beat just about anyone on tour- even if...

    Players gear during a tournament

A company showcases their products (shoes or clothing) with World Class tennis players. Costs are underwritten by advertising budgets, but only a select number of players are selected by each company to keep demand within reason.

So do we believe Alcaraz has hit his prime yet?

Beyond his capacity for personal growth, we should consider the coaching and support Alcaraz has put together. If his focus remains as sharp as today and his ego doesn't get outta control, he seems to have the chance to continue improving. Taking advantage of all that support (and technology)...

Novak Djokovic, frustrated with Lacoste: “I’m not satisfied with how they do my marketing promotion”

Interesting- Novak is frustrated at one of his main sponsors who is paying him millions of dollars a year? Maybe he can get Lacoste to lower the cost of his signature line so more people could afford those clothes?

    Second racket choice for matches.

While everyone has a different way of playing tennis, it's worth mentioning that anytime my opponent swaps racquets (and usually looks frustrated) in the midst of a match, it usually means my game is working. At the 4.0-4.5 NTRP level, using different strings (say a poly vs, gut hybrid) and...

What are the "Rules" for the Warm-Up with Opponent Before a Match?

In my experience in USTA tournament and league play, any "mind games' during the warmup usually means an opponent who's a bit weak mentally, or trying to hide a weakness. At the 4.0-4.5 level, this usually becomes apparent within the first few games. Besides hitting the ball back to my opponent...

Matches you feel that have diminished historically over time

Becker faced the hottest player in the draw in Kevin Curren. Curren defeated Connors (SF) and McEnroe (QF) in consecutive rounds as the #8 seed. With a deadly serve, forcing returns/groundies and excellent net game, Curren had momentum on his side up until he made the final. As the youngest...

Matches you feel that have diminished historically over time

Becker's first Wimbledon Championship in 1985 was a HUGE upset for an unseeded player. That match (and the effort leading up to it) doesn't get much respect these days.

What are the "Rules" for the Warm-Up with Opponent Before a Match?

I agree with this: in USTA tourneys and league matches I have not seen mini-tennis used. Maybe an approach down the middle in 4.0-4.5 matches, but not mini tennis. One other point about a good warmup is to hit towards your opponent to keep the ball in play.

Why Is Shelton Skipping The Olympics?

Interesting that only Shelton is being criticized for skipping the US Olympic team. Seb Korda and Frances Tiafoe also declined the honor and will use the time to prepare for the USO and the rest of the season.

Latest techniques and feedback in shoulder replacement surgery

Not sure if I should be chiming in here, but I'm 69 and had ORIF shoulder surgery back in 1986 after a motorcycle accident. Why Is Shelton Skipping The Olympics?

Ben Shelton is hardly "most people" and as a WC contender, his overall health and career must take priority. The Olympics are at Roland Garros this year, and he'll have better chances in the future. 2024 might be the year to take a break before the USO and be well-prepared to finish the season...

When should I invest in court shoes?

I agree with the comments here. Even just starting out playing tennis, footwear is an important piece of equipment. Give yourself the best chance to develop with some decent tennis shoes. You'll progress faster and have less of a chance of getting hurt.
