    Ezone 100 vs Vcore 98

Thanks for the responses until now, I appreciate them! Thanks for the suggestion. I've already been using a head protection tape on all my racquets.

    Ezone 100 vs Vcore 98

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm currently using an Ezone 98 v6 and plan to switch racquets because I want easier power and spin. I also want to stay at Yonex. Therefore 2 racquets caught my attention, namely the Ezone 100 v7 and the Vcore 98 v7. There are so many threads comparing the 100s and...

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

It's amazing that there are over 400 posts of adults complaining about the color of a tennis racquet.

    Kirschbaum Black Shark

I second that. I'd say there are better strings on the market, but also worse. Basically it's the shaped version of the Kirschbaum Pro Line II. I wouldn't say it's low powered though.

Lead strengthens forehand, but weakens backhand

I put 5 grams at 3&9, not at 12. I used the experimental way, i.e. measuring weight, balance and the time needed for 10 swings, so I shouldn't be able to forget it technically :) The main reason I'm using protection tape is because I play on clay and that it increases the swingweight without...

Lead strengthens forehand, but weakens backhand

Thanks for the replies. Interestingly, when I use TWU's method to calculate the swingweight, I land at ~328. I like the serve more than I did before. Similar to the forehand, the tip of the tacquet now comes through the ball better.

Lead strengthens forehand, but weakens backhand

Hi there, in order to make my forehand more powerful, I've put 5g of tungsten in total at 3 and 9 o'clock on my Ezone 98 (2020). Also I wanted to get the balance and twistweight more to Ezone 100 specs (will buy it in January anyway). I also have a protection tape at 12 o'clock. Now my forehand...

    MSV Swift

Hi there, what are your experiences on using it as the Main vs Cross string in a poly/poly hybrid?

    Head Velocity MLT

Just try it and go for the thicker gauge! It plays and looks great.

    Head Velocity MLT

I had been playing with Velocity / Kirschbaum Evolution for some weeks and recently am stringing it for some friends. I really liked it, the problem for me was the durability. 5 hours before breaking means too frequent restringing for me. Maybe I felt a bit limited in generating height over the...

Customize Ezone 98 to get closer to Ezone 100-specs?

Hi there, I've been playing with my Ezone 98 (2020) for 3 years and recently tried a Ezone 100 (2022), which I liked really much for my flatter hitting style. How can I customize my 98 in the best way to get closer to the 100 specs (balance, twistweight, ...)? Of course the head size cannot be...

    Ezone 98 2022 Modifications

Hi there, I've been playing with my Ezone 98 (2020!) for 3 years and recently tried a Ezone 100 (2022), which I liked really much for my flatter hitting style. How can I customize my 98 in the best way to get closer to the 100 specs (balance, twistweight, ...)? Of course the head size cannot be...

Yonex alternative to Radical MP (2023)

Thanks! No, ITN goes from 10.300 (worst) to 1.000 (best), where you can only reach something below 1.500 through your ATP points, e.g. Thiem has 1.300, Ofner has 1.250. If you win against an opponent with a lower ITN, you reduce your ranking and vice versa. And, by the way, Austria (Thiem) not...

Yonex alternative to Radical MP (2023)

3g in total (i.e. 0.75g per strip)? I now thought I could start tinkering with dampeners at various positions to change the balance and swingweight. I already made some shadow swings with 2 dampeners (each 3g) at 12 o'clock and I really felt a difference. How much does 1g of weight at 12...

Yonex alternative to Radical MP (2023)

First of all, thanks for the responses! I want to try that actually, so I tested TWU's customization tool, but it says I should put lead in the handle which makes no sense. Can you maybe try it as well? Doesn't the VCore 98 have the same-ish swingweight as the EZone 98, about 317-318 according...

Yonex alternative to Radical MP (2023)

Hi there, my current racquet is a Ezone 98 (2020), but I want a bit more power. So I've been testing a few racquets right now, among them a Speed MP and a Radical MP. The Speed MP has too much speed for me (no pun intended ;)), but god the Radicap MP plays amazing.... I really couldn't miss a...

    Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution/ hybrid

I'm thinking about hybriding Evolution with Yonex Poly Tour Pro. Has anyone already tried that? Either Evo/PTP or PTP/Evo. I think it softens up the stringbed a bit for more touch. Also should look beautiful

    Guiding and swinging racquets

Hi there, in the video below Karue mentions that the Ezone 98 is a "swinging" racquet, rewarding full swings and going for it, in contrast to "guiding" racquets, like the Radical MP which is mentioned in the comments. Can you name any other examples of swinging and guiding racquets? I use a...

    Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution/ hybrid

Update: I strung PLE/Velocity at 22 kg (48.5 lbs) in my Ezone 98. As expected, no snap back and the stringbed is locked, but it actually plays quite nicely. Interestingly I get more power out of it than of Velocity/PLE

    Underrated shots

I'd say Ruud's forehand is underappreciated. Heavy, especially on clay, but he can flatten in out as well and hit great winners, and it looks beautiful as well.

    Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution/ hybrid

Has anyone tried this already? Does the stringbed lock up (fast)?

    Head Velocity

Yeah as said I was expecting that, but not that extremely. I'm wondering how anyone can play with a poly/multi hybrid then? Might the color make a difference? I have natural at home. Is black different?
