    2025 Australian Open Outfits

Yeah it's a shame, this one seems like it was pretty close to being a great fit overall but they just kind of fumbled it - great shoes, love the colour combo, but the fade/spray pattern on the bottom of the shirt needed another pass to really work, especially on a tall guy like Med.

    NikeCourt Zoom Hypersmash

Everyone's different, I guess I just meant they're more for "walking around" and having like a minimum plausible level of grip haha

    NikeCourt Zoom Hypersmash

    Absolutely peak coaching shoe.

    NikeCourt Zoom Hypersmash

I have a feeling that I will pick up a pair anyway but my god I wish they made a bit more of an effort to make this an actually playable model. One slide/reach and these are gonna be toast.

    2025 Australian Open Outfits

Honestly the cuts/blocking and colour combinations kind of remind me of what they were doing when they first properly launched their apparel (and this will date me severely) like ~20 years ago with Nalbandian and Hewitt. Interesting ideas but sadly a step backwards, at least for this collection.

Wow this is a huge step up for Asics, absolutely love this.

Well we all know Nike would certainly never do something like that...

Naomi Osaka wins the first set of the Auckland final, then retires. Clara Tauson is the champ

What off-season exactly are you talking about? Most of these players barely had two months off, which probably boils down to closer to 2-3 weeks to get a proper training camp in. The pro tennis season is insane and it's only been getting worse.

    Perricard

My brother in Christ he is #31 in the world, what are you talking about?

I really love the Solution Speeds as well but I think for the players that gravitate to the Gel Res they're either a little too 'performance oriented' (i.e. frankly uncomfortable for many) or not quite durable enough. I honestly think a huge part of the Gel Res popularity is that they're right...

    Musetti prototype shoes

The Gel Res is among the most popular (if not outright the most popular) shoes where I play and I am honestly not looking forward to hearing/seeing players of all levels drag these bricks across the court. I may be proven wrong but they just look unwieldy right now.

I think those are actually the 10s - the medial side is looking pretty tall on them

Kyrgios v Perricard first round at Brisbane. LOL

I think he's a better mover than Isner was and while we have to see how the backhand will fare under serious pressure he definitely has more shotmaking off both sides compared to someone like Isner as well. He's automatically dangerous at a whole bunch of places during the year, should be...

Now this is what I call Talk Tennis posting.

Kyrgios v Perricard first round at Brisbane. LOL

This thread is insane lol. No idea why people are saying this match was boring - yeah, 2 tall guys are gonna hit a lot of aces, service winners, serve +1s, that's the game and there was plenty of huge shotmaking from both of them. Nick haters out in full force, yes he's annoying but jumping back...

    Asics Gel Resolution 9

Agreed, the Gel Res hasn't been a particularly elegant shoe for at least 2-3 generations but these look like absolute cinder blocks.

RIP Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour 2012-2024 ala Grigor Dimitrov

It's close but I think this 'custom' one is a bit of a tighter herringbone pattern like the V9 vs the U5, but honestly at that level it starts to become less about what is objectively "better" and more about what a given player is comfortable with or THINKS is better haha. And thanks man, I...

RIP Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour 2012-2024 ala Grigor Dimitrov

You guys are honestly probably overthinking this - what he's got in the screenshot most closely resembles the Vapor 9s, so that's likely what they gave him to test vs the new outsole. Relatively simple!

4 AO 6 FO 3 WB 7 USO Honestly I just love the USO and feel like Wimbledon would be the hardest to win with my personal game. Not really worried about holding records anywhere.

I will continue to stick to my thesis of "they just shouldn't have called it a Vapor and everything would have been fine"...

    Alcaraz new service motion

This is exactly it - there are a ton of players right now who have that faster, more "violent"/explosive rhythm but it's ultimately not the best choice for everyone. Finding the right serve rhythm is a huge challenge but the effect on longevity and consistency is massive once the right solution...

    Alcaraz new service motion

Ok this is actually an interesting change, and I like it. They could be making the change for his shoulder/arm issues, or just for general smoothness, but I think the longer motion will work well for him because it seems better suited to the way in which he gets his legs loaded/weight forward...

    Babolat Pure Drive 98 Failure

Can definitely agree to disagree - I see what you mean RE: similarities to the Pure Strike but ultimately I still think they'd be hugely different racquets based on beam shape alone; I think that the PD beam shape gives it characteristics that the Strikes don't have (I dislike the current...

    Babolat Pure Drive 98 Failure

Yes but it's not THAT much thinner...I know I'm being nitpick here but in the grand scheme of things 23/26/23 and 21/23/21 are...ultimately pretty close. Would have been interesting to see how the PD beam design transferred to say 19/21/19 or something along those lines.

    Musetti prototype shoes

Honestly it looks like it is the GR X based on how high the inside ankle support is - really the only shoe that's got it.
