2015 Australian Open Mens 4th Round: Tomas Berdych vs. Bernard Tomic

Berdych gonna complain to the ump about that bird in a second I bet.

Rogers Cup (2014) - General Discussion Thread

I just realized I would be happy no matter who of the 4 guys left won the tournament. I can't remember the last time that's ever happened.

    Current ATP Players as Coaches

Lol, I feel like Federer would just be like, "Okay, now hit this shot. No...hit it. Just like, hit the shot. How hard is that? Why are you not understanding what I am saying?" A Hewitt or a Murray would work better as a coach IMO

Alexander Zverev, dominance in the making?

Smart plan. Spend his developmental years getting his technique solid and shaped up before it becomes too difficult to change later on. Muscle mass can always be added later when it's not a potential harm to a growing body. Also, being from the United States I guess I just don't understand...

None of the Big 4 Will Win Wimbledon 2014

Federer looked fine, missed some silly volleys and wasn't clutch on break points but hey, that's not exactly breaking news. Hard to really judge anything off that match. Federer is a mystery right now, especially coming off last year. Nadal looked shaky, but Nadal *always* looks shaky in the...

I know a professional runner who's a vegan (was a vegetarian for a while before that before he switched over). He actually started his own community for it online. http://www.nomeatathlete.com/

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

Imagine if Tomic had the serve of Raonic. Where in the rankings do you think he would be? Raonic is literally only 1 cm taller than him, so it might have been possible if he had been coached a bit better on it growing up.

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

I like his tennis game and strokes. That's...about it for now. There's always time for him to mature, he's young. Also, Tomic breaks to go up 3-2.

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

I've got a good feeling for Tomic here. A win over Berdych could finally give him real confidence again after coming back on a surface he's comfortable with.

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

So this is very off topic, but I don't really want to make a thread for this and clog things up. Random thoughts. Who was that great american kid a few years back who used S&V a lot against Roger at the US open? And where is he now?

What does Vasek Pospisil have to do to reach ATP Top 30 or higher?

Yeah, I think he'll go pretty far if he ever learns how to beat at least 3 people in a row. Because that's kinda necessary. And he kinda hasn't done that this year.

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

I'll have to watch his matches now. The Boodles is a pretty smart place to test out tactics like that, because it's real match experience against an actual opponent without any consequences. I imagine he wouldn't be using S&V as much at Wimbledon, but being able to pull it out when he's up in...

Wimbledon - The Championships - 2014 - General Discussion Thread

Just looking over the draw now. I'm pretty annoyed that Dimitrov, Harrison, Saville, and Thiem all ended up in one tight block with only one of them coming through. How can we possibly expect young guns to emerge when all we do is smash them all together and just test the one who comes out?

THE TWO FACES OF RAFAEL NADAL - excellent analysis

A flowery article perhaps, but within it we find the source of all of Nadal's strength, straight from his own mouth! Nadal is solar-powered! This explains everything.

    2014 Aegon Championships - Queen's Club

Guess who's back? Tomic won his first match in 5 months! ....barely. He was down 4-5 in the 3rd set, and Smyczek was serving for the match. Not sure how he's gonna defend his 4th round points at Wimbledon.

Gulbis VS Murray Final!! (Would destroy the internet)

Last night, I had a random dream, and during it I decided to turn on the TV and checked the finals of the FO. The match was Gulbis-Murray, and Gulbis was leading 4-6 6-3 3-1. So, it's just gonna have to happen this way now, guys.

    Simon analyzes Raonic

Well, I feel like it's a bit more than that. Simon is saying that Raonic can be very clutch when he needs to be, and it can be really deflating for an opponent when you have break points and they just fly away because of a couple good serves. Milos is almost playing mind games with the opponent.

2014 French Open General Discussion Thread

I agree that we need personality, but I don't really like his that much...I'd be much more happy if someone like Gulbis replaced the big 4, that would be a lot of fun

    What players "frustrate" you?

I don't like his personality, but I do like his game. I'm a fan of his, and really want him to get it together, but only because of his tennis.

2014 French Open General Discussion Thread

I looked up their head to head just to see what it was. They met 3 times in 2010, and that's it! A weird set of coincidences brought them together twice on clay and once on hard court. The clay H2H is 1-1. Every match has gone to 3 sets.

Does anyone think Murray could win the French?

Well, Ferrer is 4-0 against Murray on clay so....yeah, kinda

Does anyone think Murray could win the French?

The highest seed that Andy Murray has ever beaten at the French Open has been the 10th seeded Tsonga back in 2010. And that includes is semi-final run in 2011. He's not going anywhere in this tournament.
