I'm going to likely string a few racquets on a different machine tonight, so I'll be able to tell better how much the machine itself makes a difference.

i've seen some people have different approaches in how you do start the mains when using floating clamps (youtube accounts "frisco tennis" vs "klipper"). however, a friend is also offering to let me use a machine so i will probably do a few racquets there for now and then go back to debugging later.

i twist these black flange-nut-like parts on top of the red part here as tight as i possibly can. the racquet doesn't wiggle unless i'm putting a ton of effort.

additionally, both of these were done with a one-piece so i don't think the difference is between one vs two piece stringing

when i've done one-piece it was top to bottom actually no, nevermind that's wrong

update on this, i definitely think the racquet is shortening while i'm doing the mains, but i really don't know how i can prevent this as i'm tightening the mounts as much as possible.

I ended up playing a tournament on a whim in california. i wasn't in the area for tennis whatsoever but decided at the last minute to enter. i had one racquet with me in my bag, which was a wilson pro labs racquet that they had strung with alu power at 55 lbs. in my first match the string broke...

yeah so far restring zero had good power but i found it slightly unpredictable in this frame. maybe restring sync would be better but i have so many other strings to try anyway right now.

none taken! i have actual haters to deal with that aren't here so don't worry haha i am going to try this racquet again with the restring zero at 16 and then probably try the 18 x 20 with an 18 gauge string. i always end up wanting something in between the two

Ultimately the 16 x 19 isn't my go-to racquet, especially as I'm focusing more on doubles lately. I'm sticking more to the 18 x 20 and the Dunlop CX 200 18 x 20 nowadays.

Has anyone tried restring zero in this racquet? How did it go? I've usually gone with Tru Pro Black Knight 16 at 60 lbs but my friend has been wanting me to try out restring zero 16 so i'm planning on trying it out at 60 lbs as well. I'm also considering trying a 15g, likely Tru Pro Pure Rush...

the 18 x 20 does indeed have a very low launch. i ended up wishing there was an in-between of the 18 x 20 and 16 x 19, so i actually purchased 18 g string and 15 g string and will see if either helps me find something more in the middle

i ultimately ended up sticking more with the 18 x 20 than the 16 x 19 despite thinking i would switch in 2022. in the 16 x 19 i've used full beds of 4G and Tru Pro Black Knight, and then i hybrided the two after they each broke from one-piece stringing, and it was decent. my friend really wants...

i almost never have arm pain when playing but the ezone is one of the few racquets i can find my wrist feeling funny. i would be interested in seeing how i feel after switching to pure rush or firewire boost with the ezone.

i tried black knight in my ezone dr 98 at the same tension i do my wilson ultra pro and probably went too tight. it feels too dead on this racquet, even though black knight works well on that wilson ultra. (similar head size but very different racquets)

fwiw i regret buying head leather recently cause i have a 4 1/2 pro tour 2.0 that would benefit from being a little tighter and the head leather from the stock synthetic didn't help as much as i thought it would have you ever compared them to others? the best i've used is oehms for a more firm...
